NAME: Grace Ayverin, "The Soulsnatcher", "The Tainted Child", Zhir Zori-ic

ABSTRACT: A misunderstood Golemancer condemned for sacrificing children.

DETAIL:

She only used her magic to get back what was taken from her.

They didn't ask her her circumstance.

She only used spirits of the naturally deceased. Animals and the rare volunteer.

They didn't believe her tale.

She was a scared little girl the first time she used her gift.

They called her Demonspawn.

She could have easilly told her creations to rise up and rip apart their transport, kill everyone around her, and returned to lay waste to their cities and castles.

They lived on regardless.

Despite their accusations, she was no murderer, no force of Evil to leave children orphaned or wives widowed. When they came with their armies, she put up no fight, allowed them to put her in irons, and stoicly accepted her fate as they sentenced her to a slow execution.

She had always known she would be condemned for her gift, and had made peace with it long ago. She would take her last bow with grace, as her mother had named her and raised her for.

As she drifted off to sleep in the back of the waggon, the tiny wooden bird on her shoulder whispered into her ear before flying away.

"I am proud of you, my beautiful daughter."
Italics. Italics are the universal indicator of things you say to yourself
Blank stood stunned for a moment. No matter how many times Nikki teased him like that, it always had the same effect on him. Still, somehow it felt different this time, and what had she meant by...

He shook off his stupor. There was no way, she was just teasing him like she always did. Either she didn't know how much it effected him or, more likely, she did know and enjoyed every second of it. Regardless, if he didn't keep up with her she would undoubtedly get herself arrested or worse, so he took off after her, casting an apologetic look back to Gaius with a silent promise to make sure she behaved herself.

"Nikki!" He called as he ran, one hand on his sword to keep it from bouncing around, "Weren't you just saying you wanted to see me get beaten? The training grounds are that way!"

I think you (probably) accidentally messed with Naomi's head. Children and all.
Naomi shook her head, already exasperated at everyone around her. She was starting to consider leaving the rest to the others when a silver haired child ran into the group. For a moment, the battle faded away, and nobody else existed. She was somewhere else, something terrible was happening, and it tore at her heart. She gripped the edge of her shield, her knuckles turning white as she tried to regain control her herself, desperately trying to remain calm as she walked toward the girl. She stood in front of her and looked down for a brief moment, an uncontrollable fear behind her eyes, then turned and planted her shield in the ground, setting herself between the dying battle and the one who reminded her so much of her sister.

"Stay behind me." She said, her voice wavering slightly.

---

"'Tor..." Chu said, about to say "I'm hungry." She decided it could probably wait and instead stared wide eyed at the sky behind the window. She huddled closer to Alistor, trying to comfort herself from the sudden feeling of dread that welled up inside her.

"'Tor... Don't leave..." She pleaded, confused and afraid. "Don't leave me alone..."
"Why don't we try seeing him legitimately first?" Blank asked, both glad he could still keep his plans and slightly disappointed there would be no adventuring today. "I'll see if I can take a guard shift in exchange for letting you in." He craned his neck, looking back at the man trailing behind them. "Is that alright, Gaius?"

Herron was a peaceful place. There were no bandits or opposing nations to contend with. The royal guard mostly spent their time handling civil disputes and chastising friendly thieves, so he doubted he would have much trouble getting someone to let him take their shift. He wasn't sure what he was comparing the situation to, but somehow he knew that there were places with far stronger security.

He sighed, putting a hand to the side of his head. Why couldn't he just remember already? He felt so close, like he was on the edge of a cliff looking down on the ground, but too afraid to take the leap. Shaking his head, he closed his eyes for a second and kept walking, reaching out to pat Nikki on the head absently.
I saw Cthulhu and read "Chuthulchu"

and now I'm imagining Chu on top of an eldritch abomination.
