Kiaba turned to try and salvage something from this conversation when his eyes caught on the school flag, or rather what remained of the school flag.
Fire! he thought,
When...? Was it her? Is she threatening me? Suddenly angry, Kiaba rushed forward to grab her hand and stop her. "Hey! That's..."
He stopped dead when he felt the skin of her palm, still unnaturally hot and covered in blisters.
Why would she go this far just to threaten me? Did she lose control? suddenly feeling guilty, he moved to turn her hand palm up, bringing the other hand with his phone up and tapping a few buttons to a shortcut labeled
'Healing'.
Within a moment of the song starting, streamers of light rose from his hand through hers. He didn't know enough about human physiology yet to completely erase the burn, but he did know how a burn treatment worked, and could produce the same effects if he focused hard enough. sweat beaded on his forehead as the rest of the world fell away, leaving only his hand, her hand and the music, conducting his light like a composer would conduct the symphony itself. The burn was small and not severe, so it only took half a minute to return the skin to its original smooth state. It would itch quite a bit for a few minutes afterward, he knew, but the hand was healthy again.
"I'm sorry..." He mumbled, dropping her hand again. "I didn't mean..."
