But I'm mostly mentioning it on the spectator angle more than anything else. I used to find it fun to watch, anyways.

Instead of using Google or Bing about you just draw something that's slightly better than looking at Rule 34...Akin to something you enjoy but without the Rule 34 engaged...

Or why not just draw straight up rule 34?

What anime should I start watching to see if I like the genre?

Please allow me to interject for a moment. Anime is more like a medium than a genre. It's kinda like saying you want to start watching movies, and then asking what movies are good.

Personally, I'd have to second Samurai Champloo, and add Trigun myself. If you're into more serious stuff, then Lain Serial Experiments and Ghost in the shell are pretty good, too.

Because they're exruciatingly boring compared to the original trilogy, besides the cgi eye-candy. The acting is really stiff, bordering on awkward, and it tries much too hard to reference everything from the original trilogy in some way.

And some other stuff. Iunno, I mostly just found them all really, really boring compared to the originals.
