Eve waved him on, takeing a break would be good. After Jay hopped down she rest her head by the now open slot. The cool air of the room was better than the must that was warming the vents. It wasn't for a while that she even began to wonder where Jey had gone off to, or where they where.
RELATIONSHIP STATUS Not in a relationship right now
YEAR 8th
WAND (Hawthorne, 11 inches) A long dark wand with a threstle hair core. The wand is thin and has a twisting look much like a unicorn horn as it approaches the tip, while the handle is very smooth its end being decorated with a dark jewel. Oliver will tell you that it is his grandfathers best wand. It is adept at alteration spells, one namely being the disillusionment charm.
TALENT Oliver excels at spells that modify appearance. He is best at his disillusionment spell, which teachers have commented on being nearly perfect.
BOGGART In his second year DADA class his boggart took the form of a werewolf standing above the corpses of his family members. Since then it has changed to be a mirror of his own crippling anxiety that no one actually likes him and that he will end up a failure and a disappointment.
BLOOD STATUS Pureblood
PET A crow named Vaness. She can do most things an owl can do, she can't carry as much weight. Most of the time she is hunting and occasionally will bring Oliver things she finds like lost barrettes or rusted screws.
APPEARANCE Tall and thin Oliver stands at 6 feet tall. He tends to lean towards the person he is focusing on, usually in conversations, giving the impression of fondness and close friendship regardless of if he's known you for very long. Dark curly hair paired with bright eyes tend to give him an outward look of mischievousness, one that is not necessarily wrong. His clothes tend to consist of dark blues and black and is more reserved and proper though he ops to wear such clothes in a distinctly purposefully disheveled way. It is not uncommon to see his in dark jean or dress pants with an untucked collared shirt and coat.
PERSONALITY Oliver is a free spirit who enjoys lighthearted pranks, anything new or unusual, and has a strange fondness for birds. He yearns for attention of any type, and anyone who merely speaks to him he will label as a friend. He speaks his mind and generally seems very happy. With that in mind he does dislike large groups of people, and the loud that accompanies them. He takes being ignored very personally and is quick to assume peoples feelings about him. Oliver falls in and out of love a lot, though it typically doesn't go over well for him since he tends to be overbearing and has very minimal concepts of personal space.
PLACE OF ORIGIN Born in the small Wizarding Town of RiverWing Springs, Wisconsin. The birth place of the founder of famous wizarding school RiverWing Herself.
HISTORY Oliver was born into one of the more well know wizarding families of the east coast. He is a direct decedent of Gothell RiverWing and closer to the day Thompson Rivers, the best wand maker in New York. He is the oldest now of three, with two younger sisters. His mother was often away, busy with foreign studies. His father worked long hours as a part of the wizarding protection agency. He was part of a special group that kept werewolves vampires and other mostly-humans under check. Unfortunately he was attacked by a werewolf and left with disfiguring scars as well as being a werewolf. After this Oliver's grandmother started having them over at her and her husbands house for a week every month.
In New York things were different. Oliver's grandparents were cautious about magic even though they owned a magic shop on a magic street. For these visits Oliver would brood his time by reading or sneak out to explore the magical backstreets of New York. He didn't understand at that point in time why his grandparents got angry at him for sneaking out or why he even needed to go to their house at all and it wouldn't be until his 2nd year at RiverWing that he found out.
Back at his home in the springs he happily tested his abilities constantly by jumping off of high things or messing around by the local streams. He never missed his father or mother who always seemed to have something they needed to do.
His years so far at RiverWing has been exciting. Aside from the original joyousness of having his great great great so many times great grandmothers portrait all over the place he had a positively swell time learning about the many spells and charms of the modern day. When his younger sister joined in his 5th year he was happy to help her out with studying and navigating the school, and then again in his 7th year when his youngest sister came along. Wih his 8th year he hopes to complete his animagouse training and achieve the top ranks which will allow him into the job of his choice.
EXTRA Oliver is studying to become an animagus, and has ambitions in joining the wizarding protection agency (wizard cops) like his father.
The Wizards of America have avoided many troubles of the wizards of the modern age. Voldemort and his death eaters stayed mostly in Europe and while there was a frighting prospect of his coming to America, it was a nightmare that never occurred. Now thirty years later the American wizards have their own problems arising. A group of anti-secrecy wizards called the cloaks have come out and are threatening to out the entire North American wizarding system.
Unlike the European Wizards, The American wizards and muggles do not fair well with each other. Muggle presidents before found it unpatriotic that wizards don't join muggle armies or aid in muggle wars. American wizards and muggles are two very separate communities throughout The US and Canada now. This separation goes so far that North american muggles don't even know that wizards are all around them. Unveiling the North American wizards could lead to a massacre and a civil war.
Our troubles lie elsewhere. At RiverWing outside of New York city, The finest Wizarding school in the entire Western Hemisphere. Here young wizards learn magic for 8 years before joining the ranks of wizard adults. There is word that The Cloaks are trying to gain members, even in unlikely places like Riverwing. What will you do?
About The World
Most wizards live in wizard exclusive towns dotted all over the Us and Canada, a few live in muggle cities or suburbs or even towns. Students get their invitation letter to RiverWing a week before the school opens. The letter also functions as a portkey to the school. First years parents are welcome to come (unless they are muggles), and are able to apparate themselves back to their homes.
North American Wizards are prejudice against muggle borns and werewolves. They receive lower pay and are generally negatively stereotyped. Half-bloods are little better, though most pure bloods will simply 'look over' the fact that a half-blood has muggle parentage as well as wizard blood. It isn't uncommon for muggle-borns to be pressured to leave their muggle families for the 'more sophisticated' society of pure-bloods.
The cloaks are a political movement popular with younger wizards and non-pure bloods for its face value of equality. There goal is to end wizard secrecy world wide (and establish wizards as the dominant human, they aren't public about this part). They appear in the American news paper The Salem daily on occasion though are often written off as extremists.
RiverWing splits its students into grade levels and gender rather than houses. There is a Girls dorm and a Boys dorm located on opposite wings of the building, however most students only use the dorms to sleep or to study. RiverWing has many more preferred areas for students to meet their friends such as the court yard or dining hall. Older students are aloud to go into New York during weekends and enjoy the rich magical history and many magical locations. Additionally Students can enjoy Quidditch matches and several school dances throughout the term. There is one ghost at RiverWing; a young witch named Hilda Hampkent, and a muggleborn murdered in a school prank. She is always miserable and just wants to actually die. She hangs out in the herbology tower.
Rules
1. Have Fun Don't be miserable and make others miserable. Roleplaying is about creating a story with other writers and having a good time. If you want to drop out make sure you aren't stopping someone else from having a good time. Let us know you're leaving in the ooc.
2. Respect Please respect my decisions, roleplay and your fellow roleplayers. I get it some characters won't get along, but don't make your character a bitch or a know-it-all. There is nothing more annoying. Also, please respect other people's characters. Absolutely no fighting in the OOC.
3. Characters Make your Character realistic and interesting, please. Also, if someone has submitted a character before you did, make sure you read over their character sheet before submitting your own, just to be sure that they are not similar. This is a realistic, Harry Potter themed roleplay. Witches and Wizards have weaknesses and flaws! Remember that. If you think anything different then this roleplay is not for you. Maybe don't make your character one of those sad, wimpy types either those characters get boring really fast. And don't everyone make a female character please. Please use a real life image for you character. No anime or illustrations. No canon characters or anyone related to cannon characters.
4. PG-13 I am fine with a lot of things when it comes to swearing, gore and violence but when the clothes start coming off, fade to black or take it to the PMs. This is part of the Guild rules. Kissing and that sort of thing is okay.
5.Posting I am expecting at least two paragraphs (10 sentences before dialog) from each person. That means that I will accept anything close to two paragraphs. For you speed posters out there, please allow at least two people to post after your last post before posting again. Please be committed and active in at least IC I understand that not everyone is an OOC chat kind of person. As for the format put you characters name at the top of your post, and any @mentions at the very bottom.
6. Commitment Also another important rule. If you are accepted then please don't post one or two posts then disappear. If you want to leave make sure to get to where your character won't be missed. Don't drop out in the middle of a conversation.

Sixth Year
Finnegan A Clarke Alyssa S Chase Melanie A Stryder
Seventh Year
Eliza (?) Cotterill Mason G Scott
Eighth Year
Oliver G Rivers Jonathan L Conrad
Headmaster: Headmistress Geneva Mckelly She seems very strict if you are on her bad side, however with most students she acts like the sweetest grandmother, is surprisingly 'hip' with modern slang. 'cowabunga' right.
Defense Against the Dark Arts: Professor Quinton Bellfree Close contender for hottest teacher by 8th year class. Is the youngest teacher at 21 and it shows. He is a very skilled wizard but not the best teacher. This is only his second year teaching. His class Advanced Defense against the dark arts 6+ is taught to all students between 6-8th years. Here students learn how to protect themselves and others by magically means from magical means. It is usually referred to as ADADA+
Charms: Professor Tompson Willfrey Very wise old man, his voice draws attention and somehow his lesons seem to go by quickly even though students learn so much. Gives a lot of homework though. Here students learn useful spells for everyday things, much like a muggle facts class. It is commenly called charms+.
Transfiguration: Professor Madison Wright Just as beautiful as she is smart. Prof. Wright has no tolerance for rudeness but is very understanding. She is generally considered the best teacher. All 6-8th year students take Advanced Transfiguration 6+, called as you could guess ATfig+
Astronomy & Astrology: Professor Ben Oaklin Only available as a background class; you can say you take it but we won't be going into depth here.
Coming soon
Potions: Professor Cindy Lilligen Everyone takes this class and most people are awful at it. Prf.Lilligen is a good teacher but she gives a lot of homework.
Coming soon
Herbology: canceled this year, Will be mixed in with potions.
History: Profesor Richard Jamenson Hardly anyone pays attention in history. It doesn't help that the teacher was voted hottest teacher by the 8th year student body. He is very excited about history. 6-8th year students take world history, no one bothers abbreviating this because it doesn't come up unless people are talking about how boring it is.
So I was just thinking I've seen a lot of Hogwarts things but they're always built of the European hogwarts and canonically there is a North American Wizards school Near New York, US.
It'd basically be a slice of life dealio just like the other ones but with a different problem than in the book and a cool new setting.
I was thinking the US/Canada Wizards would be more separate from muggles than the European ones since the Salem witch trials could've forced them into secrecy or something idk and there could be a group of wizards about outing the whole wizard community to start a war and eventually make the US/Canada a wizard dominant country. Of course after that the bad dudes would want to take over the world and leave earth a muggle free place but like we'd stop them. Point is they'd need followers and they could be trying to convince the students at RiverWing(That's what i'm going to call the American Hogwarts). We'd be older students 16-18. And I also need co-GMs(1 or 2)
And I'm super hyped about this but i need people who can commit. Anyone for this?
Also I'm down to add in whatever if anyone has anymore ideas just post them here. @jago
@Jago You might want to wait and see if anyone else want to do this, so far it's only me and you :0c Also I'm still working& adding stuff to that. ;> Feel free to think of what you're going to put there, I probably won't be taking stuff off.

Plot
This Rp will be focusing on our characters who will be 6 to 8th year students. Between our daily activities as students our characters will encounter the cloaks and perhaps defeat them.
Information
RiverWing doesn't split students into houses, instead students are split by grade level/year. There is a girls dorm and a boys dorm on opposite sides of the school, but generally students just mix in the court yard or study hall when hanging out.
Pets are optional but popular. So long as the pet is smaller than a dog and non-dangerouse any pet is generally aloud. Some more popular ones are cats, dogs and owls. Lizards, snakes, frogs, toads, every kind of bird and bugs are common enough as well. Wolves, eagles, and hawks have all been banned.
They do have school quiditch teams, split up by grade levels that have matches about once a month. The 9th and 10th year teams ussually have to be combined due to the few number of students who continue throughout the extra two years. The 7th or 8th year team usually wins.
