Alda raised her eyebrows and gave Derric a rough pat on the shoulder. She gave him a sharp-toothed grin, failing to notice his distracted attitude and taking note instead of his apologetic tone. "Hey, don't you worry. I mean, you could probably tell that I was going to do the same, because I was thinking something similar. Next time though, I'll beat you so hard your grandkids will ache," she added in a teasing tone. "Unless this Dyana person does it first, of course." Talking was starting to hurt a little, so she now leaned against the wall, eager to see what the outcome of this fight would be.

Luz looked up at the treetops with clear doubt in her eyes and answered, "But then if you fall out, the things that walk or crawl here will have an advantage.. And I'm not very skilled at climbing either, so in the end they'd probably win, unless I can bag them and put them in a stew." She picked up her pace at the thought of some weird, exotic and perhaps delicious animal trying to tear her limb from limb after falling from a height. "Maybe you can give me a climbing lesson when it's lighter out, yeah?" she added, flashing a quick grin.

SHE HATH RETURNED
Upon hearing Markus' commanding voice shouting "Family!", Aldo rushed inside in time to hear what the Ulfric had to say. His head wasn't totally clear, but he told himself to just live with it because the pack could need his service now. Relieved to have heard everything, he thought briefly about his three options, although it didn't really take much tossing around in his head for Aldo to reach the conclusion that he would be most useful, and most comfortable, on a patrol.

He made his way over to the clipboard and almost gasped when he saw Vashti's name written in that section. Shit. She's going to think I'm some kind of stalker. Go with the sacred grounds. Do that. He scrawled in mediocre handwriting, "Aldo- patrol." His heart sank. Idiot.

He turned his head toward Blanc and tilted his head. "Morning," he said tentatively.
"Hungry?" repeated Aldo. "No, no..." He flashed a brief, awkward, fake smile in an attempt to reassure Vashti. "Maybe later. I'm um, I er--I don't have too much of an appetite, y'know, in the morning." He mentally hit himself over the head and sheepishly watched Samantha, and then North, enter the space. "But that just means more for everyone else. I, um... I've gotta go and-" What was a good lie? "-take out some trash," he finished in a half mumble. He made his way toward the kitchen's exit, his heart fluttering at Vashti's previous closeness to him, and turned his head back to her briefly to blurt, "Sorry about all this crazy...stuff," before slinking out and heading outside into the morning snow.

He planned to stay until his head was clear. He'd felt Sam's curious gaze and it had been incredibly successful in intimidating him, although he would never admit that for a million and a half years. He took a seat on the porch and closed his eyes, focusing on the cool mountain breeze that tickled his skin. "Whew," he muttered. Yup, he would definitely be dead in a year.
I may or may not be up for steampunk or superheroes. I'm 17, can roll with any orientation.

Aldo had not been able to stand sitting in the same room as a couple dead wolves as he thought he'd be able to, and he was also sickened by the idea of someone cooking up breakfast close by. It was kind of lucky that he'd managed to make it to the toilet, and there wasn't that much vomit, but it was never a pleasant experience. He really needed to work on the squeamishness, although he wasn't usually this bad. He supposed that seeing pack members slaughtered so cruelly and dumped lifeless on the floor just drew the line for him.

He finished puking, rinsed his mouth thoroughly with water and then mouth wash, scowling at the sting of alcohol in his mouth, and took the opportunity to quickly dry himself off from after the hot tub. The toilet flushed louder than he'd hoped it would, and Aldo walked out again with the towel around his waist. He threw a quick glare at the human standing near the kitchen and mentioning Silence of the Lambs before walking out and finding a spare bedroom, which he raided for clothes.

Aldo came back out in jeans and a T-shirt and looked around for Vashti. He kind of wanted to apologize for such a horrible first day spent at the pack house, and promise her that it usually wasn't so hectic. He slipped into the kitchen, partially because the pleasant food smell masked that of the carcasses, and found her. It was too crowded for him but he made himself stay. He opened his mouth....and found himself too shy to say anything to her. He shuffled into a corner and looked at the ground.
Alda reunited with her body as quickly as she could and scrambled to stand against the wall without making a fuss. She was still huffing quietly from the exertion of the fight, and was incredibly disappointed in herself. Her eyelids fell shut as she tried to console and steady herself. Next time will be better, she promised herself, sure that she wouldn't end up partnered with Derric again but hoping to not have to end up with, for example, Colt, who was not only a strong and skilled fighter but also used the word "Slightly" which had annoyed the life out of Alda's disembodied 'ghost'.

With one side of her face red, swollen and throbbing, she watched the other fights occur. She hoped that there was good medical care here and turned her head to Derric. "Nice job," she whispered.
