Appearance: Can't seem to find a picture that fits what I have in mind! She's short (5' exactly), stout, has dark skin and dark-red hair tied in a thick ponytail, and brown eyes, and is muscly but also has a good amount of fat on her. (dat run-on) Pear-shaped build, with her hips wider than her shoulders. She wears the expected green garb that many people from the Earth Kingdom wear. Many wouldn't consider her build an elegant one; she's got big hands and big feet and broad shoulders.

Age: 21

Backstory: Born in the outer edges of Omashu into a lower-class home with four older brothers, Masika never got a huge deal of positive attention. She bickered almost constantly with her siblings, shared a room with two of them, and always wanted a place to call her own. So, when she was sixteen and horribly overconfident, she quit town much to the dismay of her close-knit and large family, though she promised to write often. She went to Republic City in search of a well-paying job with which she could get a nice home. Currently she lives in an apartment with a not-too-bad view, which she thinks could be better but she can't complain.

It might be good to get all our characters in the same area and then throw a plot twist on us that introduces the plot. But that's just me, and I'm fine with anything!

So I hope this is okay even though it's not a soldier or anything like that! I'm not good at playing soldier types.

Gender: Female

Rank: N/A? More of an advisor than someone who gives commands.

Weapons: A strong taser.

Equipment: A whole briefcase full of scientific instruments and the like.

Occupation: Astrobiologist.

Appearance: --- by nakanoart on dA. And more sciencey apparel.

Personality: Gives orders in her own lab, because she's in charge of her own lab. Slightly socially awkward in non-scientific settings. Can be a bit of a smartass, but not enough to warrant any kind of harsh discipline. Not well-equipped for actual combat, but is alright at taking care of herself in a case of self defense against one or two people. Pays/bribes? soldiers to bring back tissue samples from battles or anything involving nonhumans. Gets angry when her lab space is violated, which includes smoking (do they have cigarettes in space? I don't know), yelling, touching or moving equipment without authorization, and going near absolutely anything without goggles and gloves. She is more likely to do what you want if you give her food, just like the person writing this post.

Bio: Not a soldier of any sort, Carmen is a civilian. She was raised on Earth and had a relatively normal childhood, although she did exceptionally well in school, especially in the life sciences. She became fascinated by the idea of alien life and thus grew up to become an astrobiologist, researching the possibilities of what non-Terran life would be like (Carbon-based? Silicon-based? Something else? Would they store information in DNA or in a different medium? What is the likelihood of alien life becoming technologically advanced?)
And a year ago when the Vaskrans attacked, she knew she was looking at a hell of a research opportunity. Being one of the most qualified in her field, Carmen was hired to do any research possible on Vaskran biology in order to determine what their weaknesses and vulnerabilities are.
