Bump. Goin' to join your Backwater thing instead.
Howdy. Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'd like to claim Brazil.
Oops.
@Vocab I just looked at the main OOC and some character posts superficially before asking. Yes, that does answer most of my doubts, and the rest I'm pretty sure that with some slight research on the IC/OOC posts I will be able to solve by myself. Thanks for the help pal.
I'm inclined to join though there are two questions that I must do beforehand:

a. Has the story advanced much on these ~50 IC posts?
b. What exactly is the plot?
c. How should the factions we create interact? Is it okay, for instance, to have strifes between them or are we supposed to all fight alongside for the common goal of dethroning the government?
Is this dead?
How is it tough?

Since a bunch of the elements is there for the humor caused with the juxtaposition of Saitama's boredom with his vast power and your battle shonen tropes.

With Saitama out of the focus you get what amounts to a less Nascar version of Tiger and Bunny with goofier looking heroes.

It is tough because I have to a. find a way to limit characters' powers so they don't become overpowered but at the same moment allow them to be extremely strong and b. try to adapt the OOC so people that are unfamiliar with OPM still understand the overall mechanics and possible ploting.
I'm beginning to work on the OOC template. It's pretty tough. I need to basically put the whole anime into a simplistic, easily understandable (and not long) OOC. If anyone is interested, the template I'm working at is named 'titulum' at the test forums.

"Threads: A Grim Post-Nuclear War Roleplay"

Heavily based on the movie Threads' prediction for a nuclear conflict culminating into MAD and its post-war effects on society and global environment.

(obs. after nuclear detonations: a.f.d.)

In essence,

Period of extreme cold: decrease 20 C degrees on the common temperature range in a given location

In the first few weeks (0 - 4 weeks afd), there would be disorganization, injury-related deaths, and overwhelming radiation emanation that could kill anyone in a matter of hours;

In the next couple of weeks (4 - 36 weeks afd), the surviving governmental apparatus would attempt to regain control; radiation-related deaths would peak; raiding and a general survival of the fitness pillaging and murdering would ensue; and radiation exposure would be sufficient to kill someone in a range of months to years.

In the remaining months up to next year (4-5 months - 1 year afd), whatever is left of the State would have solidly regained what little control it can - mostly in specific regions of specific cities, controlling food depots, commencing agriculture (which would obviously be measly) - and those territoes would be somewhat organized; radiation-related deaths would begin to stabilize, most deaths now related to malnourishment/dehydration/murder; radiation exposure would probably take a few years to kill people.[/ol]

The following years (1 ~ 10 years afd), the State would have either succumbed due to poor harvests (and along it, any prospect of civilization), or it would have thrived with enough food to stabilize malnourishment deaths to the point rebuilding society would actually be possible, that would imply in some very rudimentary, NCR-like organization; with less injury/radiation/hunger-related deaths, diseases and cancer would be the prominent killers; most 'non-urban dwellers' (nomads, pillagers, prospectors, loners) would be experienced enough to survive in the harsh new reality, peaking the survival of the fittest mentality.

The sun finally shines: less cold, but without ozone, a lot more UV radiation, skin cancer and sunburn

The next decades (10 years - 30 years afd), the skies would finally be clearer.

The rest of the century (30 - 100 years afd) is mostly speculation. The main difference is that most likely children born would no longer be starkly malformed, stillborn, mentally impaired, etc.

@Dirty Dan It will. The basic idea (hero RP in OPM) is settled. I just need... well, the rest. :P I'm sure I can get it done by tomorrow, though.

EDIT: I was thinking that the roleplay should begin after the Sea People (today's ep9) arc. This will render the roleplay updated, spoiler-less and accessible for non-knowers of OPM.

Also, instead of everyone beginning as low-class Rank C's, perhaps we could be anywhere from Rank C to B. Just to spice things up; and I have some ideas for a possible plot.

Plus the standards for power-scaling here should be raised severely, assuming of the overpowered monsters in the anime/manga (which apparently can only be defeated by A/S ranked heroes, always...)
