Name/Title: Marguerite Calder
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Personality: Marguerite is a very driven woman, and often speaks and behaves as if she carries the world on her shoulders. Her family is a respected mage family from the District of Columbia, so from a young age she often found herself in positions where she had to behave with respect and diplomacy around her father’s associates, giving her a natural tendency to respond to any situation with politeness and attempts to compromise, only resorting to argument or violence if absolutely necessary. At heart, she is a very kind and compassionate person, but that aspect of her personality often has to take a backseat to her duty to her family name. That duty is one of if not the most important things to her, and the combination of that and feeling overshadowed by her brother has left her more than a bit of a perfectionist in all she does—from conversation to organization to magecraft. Given her choice, she would infinitely prefer planning ahead of time to acting in the heat of the moment. When it comes to interpersonal interactions, she always carries herself with authority, but that does not mean she is purposely abrasive. Instead, she is friendly, but is always ready to defend why she is right about something.
Appearance: Biography: Marguerite Calder is the latest head of the Calder family, an American family of mages of British and Native American descent from the Washington D.C. area. Personality-wise, the Calders are generally friendly and more concerned with nonmagical social affairs than most mages--Marguerite's father, James, was friendly acquaintances with various politicians, for example (although any nonmagical person who knows him or the family is under the impression that the Calder family is some form of old money and don’t question it beyond that).
Nothing much was expected of Marguerite when she was born—nothing much is ever expected of the second child of a mage family, after all, even in the country once deemed the Land of Opportunity. She knew from a young age that she would, at best, be married off to another mage and expected to produce an heir while her brother Arnold, her elder by eight years and the strongest mage her family had yet produced, would be head of the Calder family. That changed, however, when Arnold vanished fifteen days before her ninth birthday.
No one could find any trace of Arnold Calder or any hint of his whereabouts, but a thorough search of his room unearthed a series of encrypted journals and a wooden puzzle box that no one could figure out how to open. After several months passed with no word from Arnold, he was declared dead, leaving Marguerite as the sole heir to the Calder family.
With this new responsibility suddenly thrust upon her, Marguerite suddenly found herself having to catch up on years’ worth of training in magecraft, a challenge she tackled to the best of her ability—she didn’t have her brother’s levels of intellect and talent, but she was no slouch! Over the years, she threw herself into her studies, both at home and among the magical community, and became a mage of some skill—considering her age and the tragic circumstances surrounding her family, as she often heard added whenever she was discussed.
With her father’s death two years ago, she is the only living Calder by blood (her mother is still alive, but she married into the family).
Family History (if applicable): The Calder family is as old as the United States itself (which isn’t that old as far as mage families go, but damn it sounds cool! Also, they are among the oldest non-Native mage families in the US). The family’s focus is on healing and elemental magecraft.

However, she does know that there is a good chance she’ll have to messier things than she’s used to during the Holy Grail War, so she also brought three pairs of black jeans and all three of the collarless shirts she owns, so she is prepared for these situations when they arise. She also carries a pair of reinforced black gloves on her person at all times, should she need to handle something unpleasant.
