Well, I told my Skype buddies about this. On top of that, your link was in the last page, so there shouldn't be a lot of trouble with that.
I'm dragging in the Ralgons and their island-based Navy from the other RP, if you don't mind...
For those that don't know, my claim also includes that undesignated island far to the north, between Avelcas and Naien...

EDIT: Well, it seems that I'll be having to move my Ralgons to another world. :P
I'm still hammering out my numbers, and making sure they coincide with the strengths and weaknesses of my faction.
WORK IN PROGRESS!!!

Nation Name: The Ralgon Empire

Region: Valeria (all of the purple islands between Gaia and Aethia), as well as others within their borders. This excludes the island inhabited by The Deauxerran League.

Capital: The Imperial City of Dragonstone
Capital Population: 430,000 (Includes metropolitan areas)

Population: About 8,875,000
Racial Demographics: 18% pure Elvish subspecies, 14% pure Human, 53% Ralgons (A human/elf hybrid race), 15% Other
Dominant Race: Ralgons of various types

Social dynamics: (What is respectable, how do people re-act to certain things, etc)
Fashion: Fashion is actually widely varied within the Empire. However, most of it would closely resemble that of Victorian Era England during its peak. Anyone with enough money chooses to dress themselves in rich colors -- however, they tend to avoid the colors Royal Purple and Imperial Blue, as the dyes for those are extremely expensive, and also reserved for those of noble status. Due to the Ralgon Empire being such a varied country, almost any sort of fashion may be deemed as acceptable, so long as it is tasteful in the land it originates from.

Calendar: Official holidays within the Empire include the following:
New Year's (at the beginning of the year)
The Spring Equinox (celebrated somewhat like Easter)
The Autumn Equinox (celebrated very much like Mardi Gras)
V-Day (celebrates the Ralgon Empire's formation), May 4th
The Summer and Winter Solstices (which happen to resemble Christmas in many ways)
The Emperor's Birthday (usually when the Emperor makes an appearance to the people)

Law:

Type of Government: Imperial Monarchy, backed by a Senate run by the nobles.
Influence and relations: Alliance with The Deauxerran League
Important People: Emperor Tiberius Dragonstone
King Edward Ferro of Stormhold
King Adrian Steele of Mashiro
Queen Helen Nafune of Duro
Queen Lianna Gale of Aero
King Eric Vulcan of Pyrax
Queen Marin Rai of Duro

Carbon in diamond form has a melting point of 3550 C (6422 F) and a boiling point of 4827 C (8720.6 F). Its freezing point is the same as its melting point -- higher than this and it is a liquid, lower than this and it is a solid. Diamonds at room temperature are 'frozen'.

In other words, it's impossible to melt diamonds with medieval technology. Hell, it's hard (if not close to impossible) even with MODERN technology to melt them.

Also, obsidian is glass. I personally wouldn't want to alloy ANYTHING with such a substance, as it would make it more brittle.
Apologies for the delay. My claim (until I've hammered it out with gowia) is still pretty much the same. I'm also collaborating a history with Faulty, as our factions would have had very heavy influence on each other over the course of many years.

I should have my app up within a couple of days. Unfortunately, I've been very busy with work lately and have not had a lot of time outside of sleep to rectify that situation.
Generally, 1% is a good rule-of-thumb when it comes to deciding how big your active military force is compared with your total population, should you decide to have a constantly war-ready nation.
Here's my claim, as listed on the map right near Faulty's.

Since there was no designation for the region, and no cities, I took the liberty of calling the region "Valeria" and I also added my faction's capital city to the map.

The faction's name will be the "Ralgon Empire" or something similar, for purposes of disambiguation. The areas in red are solidly under Ralgon control. The areas between the orange and red are either recently annexed, or the Ralgon are currently doing some intensive raiding/attacking in those areas, if they're not outright invading them.

Those unnamed purple islands towards the center of the map -- I'd like to reserve that area for myself, if possible. I've got a ton of ideas that would fit perfectly for that spot.

EDIT: @ Faulty, loving that faction you made! I very much look forward to interacting with it.
