@Aisling "Oh, yes, they do," Dracula answered.
The giraffe picked up Dracula's hat with its mouth, and Dracula laughed.
@Aisling Yes, I do :)
@Aisling Toma laughed as the giraffe touched his hand and then pet it. "You're beautiful, do you know that?"
Dracula smiled and pet it as well.
@Aisling It's not a regular lesson, but some schools offer it. Otherwise, you courses on it are being offered by different institutions. If those courses are too expensive, you can go to sports clubs and let your kids take part in martial arts, such as kung fu or karate. That often comes cheaper on the long run, and if you've got a good teacher (with 'good', I mean one who doesn't just focus on martial arts competitions but also makes self-defense a part of the training), martial arts can come in really handy. In addition to the self-defense lessons I had some years ago, I've had some karate lessons last year, and my teacher was really good.
@Aisling "Despite things that can traumatize them, such as major violence, there shouldn't be anything that can't be discussed in front of them. Not even sex. The earlier they know about it, the less children and teenagers who get pregnant by accident. - It's the animals' way to show that they like you," Dracula explained.
@Aisling Oh, 'Murica... where you actually get suspended for everything. I wonder why in Germany, it is still seen as the most liberal country in the world. Here, we see that we don't swear in front of children as well, and there are some rules for films:

- Rated 0 and rated 6 films may be shown all day long.
- Rated 12 films mustn't be shown before 8pm.
- Rated 16 and rated 18 films mustn't be shown before 10pm.

It's mostly horror movies and porn that's rated 16 or 18, in order not to traumatize children. Also, 'rated 16' means that people under 16 mustn't watch those movies (well, at the cinema at least... *innocent whistle*), no matter whether there's an adult with them or not, and they mustn't buy them on DVD/blu ray/... either.

We can't get guns that easily either, so we don't need to worry too much about them. We don't need the guns either. Who wants to be able to defend against someone else takes courses in self-defense. If you do it correctly, that works as well as a gun does, and there are much less dangers to it. For example, children can steal guns and accidentally kill themselves while they can't steal self-defense skills...
@Aisling "That'd be kind of you," Toma answered, watching the giraffes.

"Or you learn how not to be embarrassed," Ioan said. He said this out loud for a reason. "Don't act like asking questions is something to be embarrassed about in front of children. It can make them too shy to ask, but if they don't ask, they'll never learn."
@Aisling So, why do you make a problem out of something as unimportant as movies? If it's about your kids, they'll get to know about sex and will pick up swearwords anyway...
@Aisling "Because I'm a sorcerer, and I've got the gene. I can drain energy from the environment and transmit it to you. It won't harm anyone. The energy I have to drain for that is so minimal that they won't even notice it," Ioan explained.

"Yes, I will," Ioan answered via telepathy.
