Name:Lance Havel
Age:22 Ethnicity: Caucasian Known medical issues: none Blood type: O+ Vision: 20/18 Height/Weight: 5'11”, 147 lbs. Eye Color: Brown Hair color: Brown Waist: 29”
To simply put, Lance Havel is a proactive thinker. He is usually ahead of the game, and spends anytime not thinking busy with puzzles, media, or any other form of entertainment. My guess is that he has an issue with boredom, and that he has found such activities a way of keeping himself on his toes.
Heres a simple list of likes I've found over the course of our talks and what I've seen.
Cars, "Fast" cars.
Books, Manga, and light novels.
Puzzles, he mentioned he enjoys "Challenges". This has manifested from rubics cubes, to other puzzles he's brought along.
Video games, he has occasionally played some during our sessions.
Tea, a beverage he refers to as "refined". On certain occasions if he finds his drink exceptional he'll loudly and unexpectedly declare "Damn fine!".
Music, with a taste for all things classical oreitned. Orchestral, and soundtracks are his preference also. With him annoyingly listening to music during a few of our sessions, instead of listen ting to me.
Fashion design clothes,
His faithful bag, which is filled with an assortment of tools, and entertainment that he always keeps at his side.
The “ladies of course”. Which he requested to be put on file.
As for things he dislikes, it is harder to tell in great detail. But I've garnered hints from things he's avoided talking about, or changed the subject on. It seems to me that Lance tries his best to not waste his time, or what he considers it.
Boredom
Wasting time
IQ or Intelligence tests, one of the few dislikes he was vocal on. To quote him “The idea that a piece of paper determines someone's absolute intelligence is idiotic, the devil is in the details; and the mind isn't so simple to be mapped by pen and paper”.
His childhood
Authority, or the air of superiority. He has issues following blindly, but understands the importance of working with others.
For his fears, I found just as interesting. Only after reviewing several sessions, and his actions or reactions to certain stimuli, information and images. I have concluded a small but accurate list of potential fears.
He fears common things unsurprisingly, death namely. Or the loss of ones he cares about and/or works with.
Losing the edge, or advantage no matter the situation.
Mental institutions, psych wards, and other such facilities for the mentally ill. When shown pictures of things reminiscence of the aforementioned places; his composure changes into a more defended and guarded attitude. Less open to talking.
When asked about his childhood, he subtly changes the topic after answering a few questions, but those answers only give me more questions to ask. And any further prodding will never yield me any progress. His childhood is rather interesting, due to the fact he was diagnosed with severe Schizophrenia, and entered into a children's hospital for treatment. At this young age he reported to the doctor of having many invisible friends. Who taught him all sorts of “things”. These things culminated from making a fire in his garage and almost burning down, to somehow getting his hands on a knife whiddling sticks, and making traps in his backyard to which inadvertently killed a neighbor's pet. The stories go on, and the mystery behind it all is perplexing. Especially how he was “cured” at the hospital. Records are spotty and I suspected he was abused with excessive treatment for his condition. Regardless though, I haven't seen a single hint of this past come to the surface in our talks. Most likely putting it far behind him, out of mind.
With that aside, his education and pursuit of knowledge is outstanding for his young age, at 13 he tested out of school after “finally” convincing the principal his time was better spent elsewhere. He went on to specialize in Psychology getting a Doctorate for it at 17, while in the next few years garnered a major in Anthropology, and a bachelors in History. Though he has no degrees for computer sciences, physics, or chemistry. He's attained substantial college credits for all subjects. He has shown to have weak point in math. The one IQ test he did begrudgingly take after I promised he could get out early. Yielded the result of two errors, which was an abstract dynamical systems question, then a linear differential equation.
This stellar record puts emphasis a point I should get across. Lance Havel is years ahead of my associates in the field of psychology. I myself only out do him in experience alone. Though he was as cooperative I could hope. I can only catch glimpses of his psyche under the shell he puts up. To a degree I think that his hobbies, and actions are dual purpose. To mask what he really thinks, but also further his own interests. This makes him a high risk asset in many ways, as he has in the past deducted information that was supposed to remain secret at the highest level. Though as of this date he hasn't disclosed anything, it is safe to say that Lance Havel should be kept on the need to know basis at the minimum. In my opinion, though he isn't quite a wild card. But rather something worse than a wild card, he has true motives and will pursue them. His capabilities are astounding, and his lack of experience with a few other minor things is his downside.
To sum up, Lance is smart as hell; and was the most frustrating patient I've ever dealt with. His mix of immaturity with genius is an insult to my profession at times. Not to mention going through countless sessions and piecing together this report from clues and guesses is not what I'd call ideal for the objective of this report.
Method Think tank(Maine Heritage Policy Center)
Lance Havel was considered for recruiting to the agency after being attracted to a think tank late 2014. His surprisingly advanced deductive skills and fast thinking made him a prime candidate to be placed among the few and much valued analysts at the DIA. First proposals were turned down from field agents, though one in particular [REDACTED] was able to convince him. He reported that telling him the truth, and the allure of a challenge was “too much” for him to pass up.
Aside from his day to day job as an analyst. Lance skills have been employed on critical missions and even in the field. Though he is new to the agency. The missions he has conducted, have garnered positive results and even exceeded expectations.
For covert mission [REDACTED] received military training at Fairchild AFB, Washington; with a tailored SERE course, and basic self defense class. Performed above average and satisfactory for the duration of his time at the base. Though several instructors did note his attitude could do with a little adjustment.
Weaknesses: Overconfidence, quick to explore new leads , and lack of experience.
Off-Duty Clothing/Equipment: Because you're not going to be walking around in door-kicking gear all day, every day on a clandestine op. Clothing: Casual civilian, to fashion design clothing. Weapons:none Tools/Equipment: His faithful bag.
Operational Clothing/Equipment: Nothing that would remove all doubt that you are part of the US military/are American. NATO weaponry is fine, but not required. Clothing: Casual civilian, to fashion design clothing . A uniform if forced on him, a Kevlar vest if required. Weapons: none, though he does own a personal firearm, though he'd rather not carry it. In this situation he does have it with him, as to whether he'll use it or when is another question. Tools/Equipment: His faithful bag.

@Leidenschaft Apologies for the double post. Also I assume you want this posted in the Char's tab right away(Though it isn't quite finished to my standard)? And for the intro post, after considering my Character sheet, would I be at the cabin right away? Can't wait to start!
-The Blackriver Killer targets those with the same black cauliflower-like welts on their bodies
Interesting, so a key to the investigation would be apprehending someone afflicted with these welts, and discovering what exactly they have. Lets just hope none of the team members catch it. :P
With an hour before work(I'm working from 2000 till 0100-0300 idk). I pretty much can't meet the deadline I set(Mind you for some reason I've been blacked out sleeping 4 days out of 5 this week just before work). But rest assured I'm working on the CS and I'm making progress.
@Leidenschaft *Cracks knuckles* It'll be my pleasure then. I'll try to finish this sooner than later, and have something presentable(Maybe not quite finished) before too much happens. So I'll put my deadline by Friday.
This was pretty much dead. Though in my defense when I was in the process of posting and writing this. Right after I was going to start doing my own thing after the collab I was on 12 hours shifts, and that lasted well over a month. XD
In other words, as far as I know it's abandoned. Though if a bunch of people start punching in and saying we should keep this going. That would be intriguing. I have bad luck with NRP's second one in the row to die right after I post in something :P.
@Leidenschaft Thanks, I just asked out of curiosity since my dossier is for a non-combat oriented character. Also I fully realize at this point I probably won't make it into the rp. But will finish the dossier out of sheer enjoyment. So gl with everything.
@Leidenschaft I've been writing a dossier myself. So to ask, it seems there are already quite a few sleuths running about this rp, and too few grunts to adequately put the boots on the ground. If you were to accept more applications, would you prefer it to be of a more hands on characters to join in at this stage?
Either way I'm just taking my sweet time with this. Between my job and the quality I wish to put in a simple character sheet; you will probably have started by the time it's presented.
@OfWindAndRain Actually space warfare is a logistical nightmare even to an advanced society at the peak of fusion energy sciences. The best methods of propulsion end up being more controlled Orion drives that shoot out deadly radiation(Thus engines can be just as much of a weapon as anything else). Most options of capable combat craft turn to drones since habituated vessels have too little Delta-V. And Vast distances take so long to cross, interplanetary warfare is chess played out in days to months with advanced propulsion, with Interstellar being epics of hundreds of years if not thousands(This is paying mind to the absence of FTL).
It takes so little delta-V to change into non-collision courses in space, making missiles the king of combat, and lasers the king of CIWS. Projectile weapons would probably be fore-thoughts, and gambits in combat to say the least. 20mm railguns used to puncture holes into other lightly armored ships wouldn't be unheard of. BUt hey this rp is about fun, big guns, war, and drama so. ^^
The reason why my society uses alot of hybrid cannons, to just plain cannons is experience in fighting against EMP weapons, ECM suites, and whatnot. Not to mention if the power package is lost, good ol' gunpowder doesn't need anything to go off but a primer and striker.
