Phillus Circus

Aria watched with great amusement as the girl's face turned bright red to match her hair as she floundered. Estelle was too adorable, wasn't she? The illusionist plucked some cotton candy off of the paper cone, greatly enjoying the way it simply melted in her tongue.

"You know, a couple suspended in the air in a small place looking down in the night view, all alone and away from prying eyes..."

Estelle's gaping made her turn, blinking in surprise at the couple kissing with great gusto on one of the support beams. "Or you could do that, I guess." She muffled the laughter that emerged from her throat, Estelle's face having become even more impressively red. They finally reached the summit and the wheel stopped, the small carriages swinging slightly.

"Ooh, lucky! We got to stop at the top!" She scorched over to the windows? Pressing her hand against the glass to look down at the circus. Woah, they were reaaaaally high up. The circus was spread out under them, all bright colors and waving flags. "Hey, isn't that Lulu and Lucy and Trixie?" Gosh, this was fun.

"Oh, right. Do you see anywhere you want to investigate?" She peered back at the recovering Estelle. Shouldn't forget about the job.

“I’ll go with you, Aria,”

So Estelle and Xan were going to come with? Aria nodded enthusiastically, smile widening. A Ferris wheel! It was going to be so cool. Before they could leave, Moira prodded Xan away towards the game stalls, leaving the illusionist pouting in their direction. Ah well, she still had Estelle with her. She linked arms with the girl before anyone could steal the swordswoman away, steering them towards the towering wheel that rose above the tents. Oooh, that particular tent smelled really tasty...

“Hey, Aria, should we get some cotton candy first?”

"Yes! Exactly what I was thinking." She turned abruptly, towards the stall selling all sorts of colorful candies and other fair foods. Cotton candy, hot dogs, corn dogs, poms-on-a-stick, it had pretty much everything one could want to eat. She very much wanted to buy everything, but unfortunately her poor wallet disagreed. Estelle was already out of gald, wasn't she?

"My treat this time," she grinned, handing the gald over to the shopkeeper and receiving two cotton candies in return. Funds were really getting low- she peered into her wallet, inwardly sighing at the meager amount left in there. Hopefully the wheel wouldn't charge extra for a ride.

The wheel was even fancier up close, with lights that she imagined to look very dazzling at night. Even in the day, however, it was rather awe-inspiring and the illusionist couldn't help but bounce on the balls of her feet in excitement.

"Have you ever rode in one of these, Estelle?" She grinned down at the girl, smile growing slightly devious. "I wish Marcus had come along. I've heard these can be very romantic, especially at night."

Aria dusted herself down, picking her way back out of the bushes. After making sure all the weapons were nicely hidden and very unlikely to be found in the dense bushes, she followed Syed towards the girl by the ticket box, lifting the illusion in the process. Luckily she had brought enough money for the rather pricey ticket, though it left her with a much lighter wallet. Looks like she wouldn't be able to eat as much as she was hoping to today.

Everyone seemed very excited despite the mission looming over their heads, looking every way to try to take in every food stall and the giant ferris wheel overhead. Numerous tents were set up, most quite small and housing one or two games that the guests could play while the main tent stood grandly in the center. It would certainly be trouble to figure out where to search first, and Trixie was already spouring out lists of things that they could do. Before anyone could react the girl had run off, disappearing quickly between the throngs of people. Aria stared in the direction the prankster had darted off, wondering whether someone should go follow to make sure she didn't get in trouble. Then again, they were going to have to split up anyways to check out the circus, and the girl could certainly take care of herself.

Instead she looked up to the ferris wheel, eyes glinting. She had never had the chance to go one one before, this was the perfect opportunity to fulfill a small wish of hers as well as scout of the basic layout of the circus from the air. The food was tempting, but she could always get that later. "I think I'll head on to the wheel," she pointed upwards, smiling brightly. "get a bird's eye view of the place, yes?''

“Oh would you- Brandy, it’s the beach room,”

"Hm? Oh yes, that is the beach room." Brandy blinked, having been nodding along at Song's explanation to Inadi's question. He looked up, indeed seeing sunlight filtering through the open door and Lesley waving enthusiastically at their little group. He gave the disgruntled item hunter a pat on the shoulder, following the humans into the sunny tropical room. Judging by the way they were still frolicking in the water, Charles must have not made an appearance yet. Perhaps he was with Marti? This beach and the mermaid's room was linked by an underwater tunnel, he knew. The shark probably decided that the food Marti had received was more interesting than these bunch of humans.

He picked his way through the sand, wrinkling his nose in distaste as sand got into his shoes. While Song introduced himself the rabbit slipped away to quickly get changed, seeing how Marti would skin him alive if he got sand all over her outfit, or soaked it with salt water. He came out in swim trunks and an open shirt draped over his body right as some of the humans started to scream about a shark. Had Charles returned?

Everyone started to panic and he tried to calm them down, but everyone was screaming and the sound of the roaring jet ski didn't help much at all in helping him in being heard. "Please, it's jut Charles-" He tried again to get one of the humans' attention, but was suddenly pulled in front of Songbird.

“Hey Chaaaaarles! Over here! Brandy wants a huuuuug!”

"I- What!? Song you didn't- wait, Charles don't-"

His protests came too late as the shark barreled out of the water, all but tackling the bunny to the ground and splashing everyone within a ten meter radius. Brandy was soaked from head to foot, trying to pry the heavy fish off of him. It was wriggling around, fins flapping in what the shark liked to call hugs and chomping happily in the air, sharp teeth glinting. Brandy finally managed to sit up, pushing Charles' head away but couldn't resist giving the overly friendly shark a pat on the head before sending him back into the water. He stood up, trying to wring out his shirt but ultimately throwing the soaked piece of fabric on top of a nearby sun chair when it didn't make much of a difference.

"Anyways, as I've been trying to say, Charles is harmless. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to play with all of you" The shark was now waiting in the shallow, turning in quick circles and peeking up at the humans. The guy must've been ecstatic to have so many visitors over. He turned, fixing narrowed eyes on Songbird. "And as for you..." He lunged forward, all but tackling the item hunter into the water. If he had been sacrificed as shark bait, then he certainly wasn't going to let the white-haired Nobody off dry and warm on the sand cackling at him.
