“Ishikawa Lilly.” The stern sounding voice came from the vice principal of the school who met the fragile looking girl half way as she stood. Hep resented his hand and she took it shaking lightly. “It's nice to meet you sir.” She said softly, her voice as flitting and trembling as a bird. “And you.” He replied, ignoring her discomfort.

She had been back in town a week, her mother had kept her room predominantly the same as it had been when she had left six years ago to live with Gramma and Granpop Ishikawa in their Kyoto home. The divorce proceedings had taken their toll on everyone. Her father had run off with another woman from work but he refused to admit to this when it came to the divorce, meaning her Mother had forked out a lot of money and spent a lot of time with solicitors and in court. Neither of their parents wanted their children around that negativity and so they had sent them away.

Her mother then had job problems and had to find a new place when their father sold their old one, 'All that takes time' she assured the children. Of course by the time it was sorted neither of them were in a position to move back and so they hadn't. Lilly's grandparents were struggling though, supporting them had drained a lot of their funds, Neo decided to move out and get his own apartment nearer the school. He'd said Lilly could join him but she thought it would be nice for him to have some freedom, besides, it meant she had a great excuse to go keep their mother company.

She was still adjusting, new town, new home and while they'd seen their mother regularly it was a bit different living with her again. In the hopes of making things less alien though her Mother had opted to send her to the school she herself had attended.

So here she was, her first day, with her bag with pens, pencils and notepaper on her back, her uniform crisp and neat, trailing behind the vice principal as if she were some kind of delinquent. “I am sure you will get yourself orientated around the school in no time, if not, the students are really friendly here, all you'd have to do is ask. Your time table is being printed out so if you come and get it from the office after you've registered then you will know where you need to go. Your mother assures me you know the school rules, please adhere to them at all times. The cafeteria serves hot and cold food twice a day and there are a number of extra curricular activities you can take part in. It is recommended all students have at least one but preferably two after school activities. Here we are.” He opened the door and let Lilly walk into her new classroom, not waiting to see if she had nay questions but shutting the door and rushing off leaving her standing, awkwardly, in the room.

The teacher greeted her enthusiastically and introduced herself before silencing the chatty class and introducing Lilly to the room. Lilly's brown eyes fell shyly to the ground as she introduced herself to the class, there were some snickering noises and a blonde girl in the back row didn't seem impressed. Finally she was dismissed to choose an empty seat and the home period began. Afterwards they were dismissed to first period, her classmates all filed out as she got her things together and she attempted to catch one of them, for whatever reason they didn't hear her and she was soon stood in the corridor utterly lost.

She found her way of course, eventually and got her timetable arriving late to class much to the smug look of her new class mates. School was going to be...interesting, she realised. Lilly had always been considered strange, of course she'd always had her brother to protect her from those who wouldn't be kind to her. Because of her large gentle eyes and her soft spoken manner she was always called things like rabbit or deer, people mocked her for it and thanks to her big brother she'd never had to look after herself.

By lunch time she had made no friends but had managed to get around the school without too much trouble. She had convinced herself it would be at lunch time she could make friends with her classmates, or anyone for that matter. Carefully she picked up her lunch; the vegetarian option which certainly wouldn't help with rumours, and made her way to the first table. “HI there, I'm Ishikawa L-”
“I'm really sorry the table is full.” The girl with the blonde hair interjected, it wasn't full of course, there were two free seats but Lilly just smiled and nodded, “Maybe some other time.” As Lilly turned the girl snickered with her friends, “She's so weird isn't she? Did you see how she was answering all the questions in Maths? What was she trying to prove?” There was giggles and other rumours. Lilly was pretty smart but she wasn't exactly socially apt, the divorce and upheaval had set her back even further. Lilly went to two other tables and received similar excuses before she sighed gently. In the corner of the dining area was an empty table and it seemed that was where she was headed.

As she walked the football team came in, one of the boys threw a ball for another and as they ran for it they bumped into Lilly tripping her and sending her lunch flying. The hall erupted into laughter even as the football player apologised profusely and helped her up. Tears stung the corner of her eyes, her lunch was ruined. Excusing herself politely she left the hall and head outside, the day was cool, not cold really, but due to the wind many people were either staying in or close to the building. Lilly made her way to a quiet part surrounded by the rose bushes and sat herself down, she'd been fighting tears all day but now, alone, she burst into tears, holding tightly to her mobile phone, the message 'Be brave!' dimming from the screen.
Name: Ishikawa Lilly
Age: 15
Appearance:
Bio: Lilly and her brother Neo had been best friends with Rayne since they were all little. The boys were the same age and met at the park one day and really hit it off, Neo introduced Rayne to his baby sister Lilly and a very young Rayne decided he would marry her, which was okay because Neo was going to as well. The trio grew up as great friends, Rayne and Neo being very close and the pair doting on Lilly; even after they realised what marriage meant, it seemed like they'd be best friends forever. Sadly though that wasn't the case, Neo and Lilly's parents began divorce proceedings when the boys were ten years old. Both Neo and Lilly disappeared, no longer going to school with Rayne and losing all contact with the Kyo family.

It has been nearly six years since then, Neo finding the Kyo's on a social media website and dropping back in contact with them. It seemed their parents did get divorced and for a while they had been staying with relaitves in Kyoto. Neo was staying there, becoming an apprentice teacher of all things but Lilly moved back to the town with their mother. It looked like Rayne and Lilly would be going to the same school, though Lilly in the year below him. So obviously Neo sent a polite reminder to look after his baby sister.

Her first day at school will be the first post in the rp. :)

For the rest of the visit Isla stayed with Duncan, washing the peach and picking a few more -after they insisted- to take home so they could make peach cobbler. Adam had said they would have loved to stay for dinner but there were things that needed attending before the decorators came by on Monday and so they made their apologies, set a date later in the week and traded contact information. It was hard to contact Adam and Isla, they hadn't got mobiles and the phone line was being installed on Monday but they had e-mail addresses they could be contact on in the mean time.

Adam remained quiet about what was spoken of in the shed and by the time they got home it was almost dinner. Toast with marmalade became their dinner and while they enjoyed that and a hot drink they discussed the neighbours they had met. Other from the neighbourhood seemed kind, somewhat boring in comparison to what dominated most of their time. The chatty and over sharing Miller's. It baffled them both how anyone could speak so freely and easily to complete strangers about the biggest tragedies their family had faced. Since both had very similar experiences with the family they put it down to just one of those oddities of the town.

They spent the rest of the evening moving things around and out of the main rooms to be decorated and into the spare room. They had decided that they could make that up another time after all, Isla would sleep there tonight and Adam in the living room before moving the sofa up to the spare room so the men had a free run of the house.

“We can go shopping while they decorate but maybe you'd like to see if Duncan will show you around the town? It's probably easier to get to know the place with a kid than an old man.”
“You're not that old.” Isla teased back with a smile, sitting on the sofa with him. “I guess I could, he seems harmless enough right? A little bizarre but not dangerous at least.” She remembered the peaches in the kitchen and smiled faintly, “Though I do get the Stepford vibe from that family. Though that could just be the way people are here right? It sounds like he has a lot of friends too so I could meet them probably.”
“Yeah… alright that's settled I'll drop by once we let the decorators in and we'll see if he wants to take you out for a bit. Any problems though just...”
“Call?”
“Yeah.”
“That'll be...”
“Tricky, yeah...” Adam rubbed the back of his neck and sighed faintly, “I'll see if the agent has those burner phones for us… that doesn't mean you get to go chatting all the time.” Isla just smiled and nodded softly. Soon after the pair turned in for the night and though fitful, managed to sleep for at least a little while.

Monday 7th August 2017

Isla and Adam were up early, they cleared the rooms and managed to tidy out any lingering messes. There wasn't much in the fridge so they managed to unplug it and bring it out to the middle of the room so that it could be painted around.

Soon there was a knock at the door and two men in decorators overalls stood grinning up at them, they'd been vetted by the police, but Adam still didn't fully trust them.
“Good morning Mister, you spoke with our boss about a...well a full make over right?”
“That's right come in.” Adam spent twenty minutes going over the plan for each room, carefully pointing out the details they'd want. It was discussed that to get the whole house down would take about five days. They spent another hour going over paint colorus and hues, carpet options, shelving and anything else the pair wanted before agreeing the best room to start with would be Isla's room. She showed them what paints and carpet and the modification to the lighting she'd like. “Right, we'll need to take some measurements and then head out to the supplier to get the paints and carpet you want, we'll be back in about an hour alright?” And with that they left. Adam got ready to go out himself and he turned to Isla and gave her a nudge to go and see if Duncan was around.

She got changed, another pretty little summer dress with a more bohemian style, it had long flowing sleeves and hung off of one shoulder slightly. Due to the nearly see through quality of the dress she wore a black tank top underneath and a pair of cycling shorts to keep her modest. The skirt fell to the top of her knees and was shaped by a wide belt of tan leather around her waist. She wore matching tan sandals with her toe nails and fingernails painted the same eggshell hue of her dress. Her hair was held from her face by a flower headband and she had with her a handbag made of linen and leather. In it was her purse of course, all cash rather than credit card and with no identification cards.

She crossed the street to the neighbours, pursed her lips which were coated in a pale bubblegum gloss and knocked lightly on the door. When the door was answered she smiled faintly at Duncan, “So the decorators are going to be in all day and my Uncle would rather me not be around while they're busy… so he thought if you weren't busy maybe you'd give me a tour of the town? I've got to pick up some things for my room but I don't actually know where anything is.” She said sheepishly. “If you're busy though, don't worry. Could you just tell em where the bus stop is and which one I take?”
It seemed Duncan realised he had been waffling but she offered a small smile, "It's fine." She assured him, "Adam told me I was going to Albuquerque Academy. I have an interview with the heads of departments on Wednesday, my timetable has been submitted from my old school, with luck it won't be hard to accommodate." She stepped further into the garden, letting the feel of the grass and wind wrap around her, they were here for fruit right? "I don't mind busy classes, though it will be nice to focus on the work." She wasn't much into popularity contests, she'd been popular of course, first for her looks and second for her parents. It would be strange starting at a new school, starting fresh but it wasn't something she had given too much thought too.

"Me?" She asked, when he asked about her, she shrugged and moved to one of the heavy laden trees, her fingers toying with one of the large, soft fruits. "I like to sing, history, art and travel I guess." She gently twisted the fruit to lift it free of the branch without putting pressure on the already heavy branches. "I moved states, Uncle Adam moved across state though." She said gently, "My mum and dad are going through a divorce, it's messy and the arguments are... constant." She sighed lightly and lifted the fruit to smell the freshness of its skin, she hated lying, she was good at it, but she hated it. "So I ran away, Uncle Adam took me in but he was living in a one room apartment. He came to an arrangement I guess and got us here. I'm sure he's probably angry with me for it, he's had to change jobs and house."

Gesturing to the fruit, "They smell great, are they organic or do you use pesticides?" She asked, changing the topic away from her and her faux life, she was still getting used to being called Isla.

Duncan's father continued on and Adam nodded lightly, "Yeah, don't get it myself, all those apps and snap chats and facebook. Far too much hassle for my liking." Again the heavy subject of Duncan's past came up and Adam remained quiet, relieved for the butlers interjection. "Oh don't worry at all miss, honestly I should have mentioned to you how I like it." He stated with a friendly tone, taking the tray from her and placing it on the workbench. Adam didn't like butlers, not personally, but found it awkward watching people serve others. Always started with good intentions and lead to some of the darkest parts of history, "Though for reference I like it strong, black, with two sugars. I'm not sophisticated enough for the other stuff." He teased himself, putting a couple of cubes in and stirring it before straightening up again. "Good work in the garden by the way miss." He took a sip and looked overjoyed, "Oh man, that hits the spot, I haven't had good coffee in two days."

He turned his attention back to Mr. Miller and nodded lightly, "Ah, I see. Better safe than sorry though right?" When he went on about him getting married he shuffled uncomfortably, "Ah don't know if that's a viable option really." He said lightly, not while his Mister Miller was missing, Samantha needed him and the murders of Ceila were out there. besides how would he meet a kid anyway? Still he grinned lightly and nodded along, "Ah yeah, had a girlfriend like that. She could burn cornflakes." He said with a laugh.

When the topic turned to the school he relaxed a little, leaning back on the workshop table and nodding lightly. "Crime is always a problem, in my experience even when people say there isn't any, there usually is, somewhere." He winked lightly and took another sip of the coffee, "Heard good things about this place though. One of the lowest crime rates in America, great schools, good opportunities for Isla." He took a moment to enjoy the smell of the coffee, this family had been happy to over share so... "See, her mum and dad are going through a divorce, messy business. Poor Isla is stuck in the middle of it, having to listen to the arguments, watch the fights. It's no where for a kid really. One day she just turned up, suitcase packed in tears." He sighed lightly and shook his head, "The trouble that got me in... eventually though the lawyers and they agreed that it was better she stay with me for a while. You can't keep a teenage girl in a one room apartment though so. Here we are." He said, straightening up and drinking half the cup. If only that were true.

"As long as Duncan doesn't mind, I think Isla's more nervous than she lets on about going back to school. She lost her whole life coming here with me. She doesn't know anyone here... and your boy seems to have taken a shine to her." He said, neither happy nor upset about the fact, he couldn't tell which way he leaned. On the one hand Isla needed a friend, more now than ever but on the other she had just turned sixteen and didn't need a boy to distract her from work. Duncan seemed nice and all but he was older and clearly he had some very high expectations.

"Food? Just some basics, nothing fancy, we'll go shopping properly tomorrow while the decorators are in sorting out the house." He said, though he filed the Wal Mart information for later. "That sounds like a good idea, I'd be happy to get Duncan if needs be, give Masumi a break now and then. Would be nice to have a back up in case I'm stuck somewhere for Isla too. Don't put yourselves out though, we can manage, last two days we've had take out and garage shop food." He laughed lightly and shook his head, "Can't believe they let me keep her, reckon its more she looks after me to be honest."
Sorted out Isla's timetable :)
It's attached to her profile at the bottom

Also that sounds sucky :(
