He shook his head at her. There was just something about the way she said her name. It isn't sound natural the way she said it. Almost as if it were rehearsed. It was something that nagged at him, but he had no right to question her about it. "So what brings you to a small town like this? We almost have nothing here," he chuckled.
Derek could feel an eerie darkness that hovered over this girl. She looked normal and nervous, as any new high school student would. He couldn't take his eyes off her, even as she came to the empty seat next to him. She had a scent of fear on her, as if she was fearing for her life that same day. What was it about this girl's life that she was in fear of? Was her parents abusive? Was she scared for her life? Something didn't seem normal about her fear. He could see it in her eyes. She was genuinely afraid for her life. Something about her looked familiar. Almost as if he had seen her somewhere, but her name just didn't seem right. She didn't seem acknowledged when the teacher said her name. Why am I getting so worked up about this? "Good morning," he said to her, after she sat in the seat.
Derek came out of the forest entrance in a secluded part of the small town. He continued jogging until he reached the school. He didn't think he was late, but didn't dare look at his watch. He walked up the steps to the school and headed inside, going straight for his locker. He grabbed his jacket from inside the locker and put it on, feeling the faux fur on the inside warming him up. His hot body temperature warmed it up fast. He felt better. The cold air outside felt colder to him where his body temperature was higher than others. He walked into Mr. Brown's English class and sat down in the back row, awaiting for class to start.
I think you'll fit in here just fiiiiiiiiine. (: Just don't drink the kool-aide >_>
That morning was particularly cold. He stood on the edge of a pond in the middle of the forest. It was still a little dark but light was starting to hit the sky, painting the area in a blue winter wonderland. Derek was up all night on guard duty, assuring none of the humans came into the forest. He checked his digital watch on his right wrist. He saw the red numbers illuminate through the ascending dark, 7:30. He saw his other pack member, Adrian leaving his post for school. Derek's replacement was late, but he decided to go ahead and start jogging to the entrance of the forest.

I might be interested. I would like to play a female artist. By the way, if you're looking to 'sex up' the character, make sure to post "Mature" or "18+" in the title and discuss the details through PM. It helps out Mahz if those details aren't necessarily posted.
Name: Derek Mavis Age: 17 Species: Werewolf, descendant of Romanian werewolves.
Biography: Derek grew up in his hometown of Polina, Michigan. There, he was born into a tribe that were descendants of Romania, the original wolf pack. His blood is 95% pure Romanian blood from his father and 5% American blood, from his mothers side. After the first packmaster retires, he will fight other werewolves until one is claimed a victor for strength and mercy. He stays in school, although his packmaster wishes he would drop out to train daily. Derek is proud of his heritage, and finds it a great advantage. Other: Derek has to follow laws of the pact. During a full moon, he has to stay away from humans at all costs. Killing another werewolf is punishable by death, unless it is evident of self-defense. All members of the pack must follow the commands of the alpha, unless overruled by the Guardian of Wolves. The Original Guardian resides in Romania, giving packs an alpha all over the world to carry out his laws to let humans and werewolves live in co-existence without the knowledge of them coming out to the public. His weaknesses include silver, mercury, and wolfs-bane. Any silver or mercury (quicksilver) will burn his skin, and if injected into his bloodstream in anyway can temporarily disable him and his shifting ability. If silver penetrates his heart he will die. Wolfs-bane is more deadly. It does not heal fast like a silver burn, and can cause a high fever of 112 degrees Fahrenheit (compared to 108 in humans). Wolfs-bane can also cause visionary and auditory hallucinations. Even though it is a weakness, werewolves in his tribe would use it as a hallucinogenic drug, leaving their minds wandering but leaving their bodies in a very weakened state. Ingesting more than one ounce is deadly, and can kill any werewolf. It is seen as taboo to use them as recreational.
Safe Haven is what the police refer to as one of a many few runaway hideout. Safe Haven has never been found by any law enforcement. It's a place for adolescents to go, to feel 'safe'. Although they are the 'bad eggs' of society, they feel as if they need someone to know what they have lived through. In Safe Haven, everyone has your back, no matter what. These kids have nothing else to lose, other than friendships, and they know enough not to ruin those. Adolescents usually belong to gangs, which can be good or bad. But with the murder of a Duchess on city grounds, the mayor has waged an all out war against gang-relations. Is anyone up for this?
Polina, Michigan is on the outer edge of the state. It is roughly 30 miles away from the Canadian border, and surrounded by hundreds of miles of pine forest, and Lake Superior. It is in the middle of January during the coldest days of the year.
