Name: Lawrence Macintosh

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Personality: Lawrence is a rather subdued individual who is known for his gentle spirit and disability to say "no" to others. While that is what is seen on the outside, something very different is on the inside. From years of verbal and physical abuse from his mother as well as being taken advantage of by others, Lawrence has dark and sometimes murderous thoughts although he never acts on them. Anger is an emotion he rarely ever shows to others, although, when he does it is very violent. Otherwise, 90% of the time, Lawrence is an innocent teddy bear. If he ever does something violent, he is immediately regretful afterword and is ashamed. He has almost no back bone so saying no to someone or standing up to them is something he rarely does.

Weapon of choice: Axe

Bio: Lawrence was born to Frank and Winona Macintosh on a ranch in Northern America. He had two other siblings, all of which died before the age of 20. His younger brother died at the age of 8 from a cattle stampede and his sister died at the age of 18 during a complicated child birth. Eventually, Lawrence's father died as well from a heart attack, leaving Lawrence and his mother alone to tend to the ranch. Having two of his siblings and his father die in the span of a few years, Lawrence decided to leave home at the age of 17, right after graduating high school, to work in Northern Canada at a lumber camp. He needed to get away from his mother and from the house that only reminded him of his dead family. He worked and stayed at the lumber camp for 9 years. For the last two, he received repetitive letters from his mother saying that she was getting ill and that they were in danger of losing the ranch. Finally, after two years of receiving these letters begging him to come back home, Lawrence decided that he would. Seeing as there was word of a highly contagious virus going around, Lawrence chose to drive back to his hometown instead of taking a plane. Along the way, he saw many strange things. But when he tried to cross the border into America, it was very tricky and a series of unfortunate events left him stranded in Michigan.
I do see that there's a lot of interest which is great. Seeing as the next few days are rather hectic for me, I'll try to have the OOC up by tonight.
It's great to see all the interest! As for the type of zombies, I was thinking just your average walkers, because we'd all be done for otherwise. Unless a lot of you would rather use specialized zombies. I'm open to suggestion.
Will YOU Survive?

We've all been a part of those roleplays where there is an insane amount of overpowering characters who kick ass left, right and centre, are detached from all emotions and are seemingly immune to injury or weakness. Watching The Walking Dead the other night had me thinking, would I survive in a zombie apocalypse? Not a character I created but me, at this very moment. If I were to awake tomorrow and find the world in such a state, how long would I survive with the skills and provisions that I have right now? Needless to say, the thought led to the idea of this roleplay. You will play as yourself in the event of a zombie apocalypse. Age and name can be changed if you prefer to keep such things private but the rest is all raw and honest. Think about your physical abilities and endurance. How long would you be able to run for? How well would you be able to take a beating? If you were to get in a physical skirmish with someone or with a walker, how would you be able to handle it? Think about your defensive and offensive skills as well as the weapons you currently possess. What are your firearm skills if you have any? How well can you use a melee weapon like a hammer or a crow bar? Do you currently own a gun? Knives? Any other weapons that you own? Personality and back story would also be yours, although you may chose to change/leave out a few details in your backstory for security reasons. Your actions in the RP will be accurate to what you really think you'd do in real life and even your social skills will be based on your own.

So there's my idea. Basically put, a zombie apocalypse that you personally are put into, seeing how long you will survive. I have not personally seen this approach before so it should be interesting to see how it will play out if this idea takes off.

So...any biters? (no pun intended. Just kidding, pun always intended.)
Unique idea. Interested.
Joseph Reed & Winifred Turner

Upon hearing that Janette was about to address the group, Joseph and Winifred returned inside the building, Joseph dismissed the humanoid figure he had seen walking towards Haven. He was probably just seeing things, after just waking up a few minutes ago.

Joseph sighed upon hearing that he was to stay back from going into the city. He reasoned that it was because of his knowledge of crops and also partly in due to Winifred's previous scene. She was less likely to run after them if Joseph was with her. He was an understanding man and, although he was a bit disappointed with his placement, he took it with a smile and a nod.

Even though he wanted to help out in the city, he was also looking forward to harvesting the crops. His hands had missed the feel of prickly leafs and damp soil. Since the outbreak, he had to change his mindset and routine. He missed the days of waking up at six in the morning. Waking Margaret with a kiss before dressing and heading outside to feed the livestock and start the day. Taking the horses out to graze, checking on the crops with his son, often fertilizing, and cutting the grass. Sometimes dipping his toes in the pond on a hot summer's day.

"I don't want to pick crops." Winifred's comment of discontent interrupted Joseph's reminiscing. He placed a hand on her shoulder, as if to shush her.

"We could make it fun," Joseph suggested.

"Yeah but you like that kind of stuff. I'd rather be out in the city, kicking ass and saving the world. What does picking crops have to do with surviving?"

"We need food to live, don't we?" While his tone was pleasant, the look he gave her told her that she better stop complaining. Haven had given them shelter and food. If they had to stay back and pick crops, so be it. The two took a step back from the group, waiting for the other crop pickers to gather together so they can head out.
Sorry to say it but I think I will be dropping this rp. I think missing the first day screwed me up and it's moving faster than I can keep up so I'll be dropping out on this one. Hope you guys have fun!
You have been PM'd
It had been quite a journey from the most rural areas of the state, to get into the city. Joseph and Winifred had survived for as long as they could with what was left over in his farm house. But when the undead eventually overran it, it was a testimony that no where was safe. Not the city, not the farm land. Earlier on, the two had agreed that they would not enter the city. But yet, here they were, trudging along in Joseph's truck, heading into the suburbs.

Gas, food, supplies. They had few but not enough to last them too long. They thought it best to try the suburbs before entering the big city with sky scrapers and undead at every corner. Joseph slowly patrolled his truck through the abandoned streets of the suburbs, in search of stores. They eventually got out of the residential areas and entered the commercial. A big, shiny, Walmart sitting right in the middle of it all.

"You think we out to try that Walmart?" Winifred asked the man who had come to act as her father.

Joseph shook his head slowly as he pulled his truck to a stop in the parking lot. It was completely empty as if it were the dead of night, and not the middle of the day. "No, a place that big could easily get us in trouble. It's probably ransacked anyway."

"Can't hurt to try," Winifred persisted.

"It's not safe. We can try that Drug Mart over there."

"Come on, let's go. Stop being such a hard ass," Winifred whined. She loved the man but sometimes she couldn't understand why he was so worried all the time.

Joseph shot her a hard glance. "Ok. But you stay here."

"What?! Joseph, that's not fair, you-"

"Stay. In case we need to get away fast, you need to wait in the driver's seat. Do not leave this truck." Joseph placed his hand on her shoulder, trying to get her to look up at him. "Ok?" Joseph couldn't fool her into thinking he didn't care that she was upset with him.

"Fine." Winifred stomped her foot on the floor of the truck before reluctantly getting into the driver's seat. She hated being told what to do but she wasn't about to throw a tantrum in the parking lot.

Joseph emerged from the truck with his gun at the ready as he made his way towards the Walmart. The undead stumbled about the parking lot but did not take notice of him...it seemed they were all slowly shuffling towards the doors of the Walmart themselves. Joseph took a huff of air before walking into the Walmart, preparing himself for who or what he was about to encounter.
