Name: August Franklin West the Third
Nickname: Auggie
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Personality: Auggie is one of Brennen's golden boys, coming from one of the founding families and being at the top in both academics and athletics. He's known as a sweet, energetic, charming, and charismatic youth, who's got a bright future ahead of him. In front of people he is known to be very down-to-earth and social, but outside of school and of the public's eye is a very arrogant, narcissistic guy who believes he is a lot better than what the town deserves. Charming and witty, Auggie is also very full of sarcasm, having a good sense of humor.
When out in the public he has a strong sense of equality and just, putting up a facade that makes others believe he is truly a genuine, nice guy. He just needs to act that way until he is able to leave Brennen and be who he really wants to be. The real Auggie strongly believes that the world is only made for those who are capable of handling it, believing that the world is really the survival of the fittest.
History: August West the Third was born to the West family, coming from the direct lineage of one of the founding families of Brennen. His family has had a history with the town that dates back centuries, along with his name. He is named after his grandfather who was named after his grandfather, meaning the next August was going to be his grandson. He is an only child to Franklin and Mary West, a local politician and elementary school teacher respectively. Always having the time and attention of his family and of the public, Auggie has always carried himself high, making sure to never mess up. He grew up joining in every sport, every club, every volunteering opportunity he could get his hands on, just so he could keep up his image alongside his family.
Once high school rolled around Auggie was at the top of his class, getting a 4.0 grade-point average and being a three-sport athlete, joining in football, soccer, and swimming. He also was the president of five different Brennen High clubs, the Chess club, the Philosophy club, the Art club, the Music club, and the Poetry club. Being one of the few golden boy's of Brennen meant he had to keep up the image of being pure and involved, hiding his true nature away from those in Brennen. Everything came crashing down though when his name was listed in Rose Henley's letter. His family and her's went back centuries, with her's being one of the founding families along with his. He considered himself pretty close to the girl, always making sure to keep special attention to her, as she was one of the oddballs of Brennen High. With him being so nice to her, it helped him keep his good guy image, but when his name was listed people questioned his image.
People noticed a darker lining and aura to Auggie that they didn't before, even Auggie noticed it. Rose put him out there to the world and he had to figure out why she did. It didn't bother him that his name was listed, it bothered him that she made it public. There was a reason he was on there, he had a feeling he knew why, but there was no certainty that it would be right as the only source to find the true answer was gone.
