Also started replaying Dishonored for the first time since 2012-3. Still love the world and atheistic. Stealth route is not as satisfying but more fulfilling.

I started playing through XCOM 2 for the first time since Feb. There's a lot of BS still going on, but it's addictive as ever.

This Interest Check is about an RPG in which players play as Gods of a polytheistic religion. They create the universe, populate it, reveal themselves to prophets, and, basically, toy around with it. I'll play as both the GM and [Undecided Name], the Gods Of The Gods (Like Zeus in Greek mythology), which created the universe and his fellow Gods (PCs). He won't intervene in others' choices, but condemns and punishes torture of innocents.

Each PC will have his own specialty (God Of Land, God Of Sea, God Of War) and can only use their speciality in the universe (for example, the God Of Land cannot create oceans) and have a limit to their capabilities (for example, the God Of Land can't create planets).

There is a lot of potential for (literal) god-modding here, but the game will be strictly moderated. Thoughts?
So. I thought it'll be cool to try out a alt-history, almost retro-futuristic RP in which the players play as investigators in a PI firm trying to figure out why innocent, ordinary people vanish without a trace in 1950s New York. The RP will be at least somewhat grounded in reality.
RPs will be able to look around for clues in crime scenes, talk to witnesses and raise theories as to what's going on. Therefore, the game is tailored by player choice.

What do you think?

I'll have to agree with TNY here.

Yeah, fair enough. Perhaps I am not familiar enough with PBPRP and just went by me D&D roots. I'll re-edit it soon.

Would it be possible to make a pilot who fought during the initial defense, but got inevitably grounded because of the Surrender?

Historically speaking, yes, Poland did have a relatively small air force during the invasion (despite being obsolete), due to the fact Poland had just started mechanizing its army just a few years earlier, at around '36. Their first all-metal aircraft was manufactured in '33.

P.S. ...Who's going to start RPing?
P.S. 2: Please place your CS in the appropriate thread.

Those (?) are supposed to be in the CS thread, Templar. There's a link in the OP.

It's fine. I'm more concerned about the triple-post (probably because the site's been in and out of downtime lately). Templar, you're accepted.
I believe we have a big enough roster to begin IC play.
kingkonrad, I've just noticed you've put "divisions" on your characters. I added them into the "Current Crew" section.

What's Poland's infrastructure like right now? After the bombings and all, how well preserved is the city at this point? Also, are the streets just flooded with Nazi's?

Some Nazis are walking around the streets, especially after they'll start building the ghettos, but the streets are mainly filled with war refugees trying to rebuild the city.
Again, as part of the Nazi ideology, they didn't have much reason to provide the Poles with basic needs, let alone rebuild their infrastructure. Buildings are still ruined and some are still on fire, as the water works are completely busted.

A good estimation of the situation in Warsaw is depicted in this footage.
PROLOGUE

On August 23rd, 1939, after a number of meetings between the Soviet and German diplomats, The USSR's foreign minister Vyacheslav Molotov and Nazi Germany's foreign minister Joachim von Ribbentrop sat down in Moscow and signed a "Treaty of Non-Aggression" between the two superpowers. To the public eye, the pact declared that one wouldn't attack the other over a period of ten years. But behind the scenes, the two agreed to split Poland into thirds, should a side decide to conduct an assault on Poland.

A week later, on the 1st of September, 1939, at 04:40 AM, the Luftwaffe, the Nazi air force, bombarded the Polish town of Wieluń, killing nearly 1,200 people. Merely 4 hours later, the Luftwaffe began bombarding the Polish capital, Warsaw, targeting civilian targets such as hospitals and schools. Without a formal or public war declaration, land battles near and in Warsaw began as early as the 8th of September, but the Nazis were constantly repelled by the Armia Warszawa (Warsaw’s Army).
The Soviets were joining the invasion from the east on the 17th, in compliance with the Molotov-Ribbentrop Agreement.
On September 24, the Nazis bombarded Warsaw with over 1,000 aircraft. The next day, Nazi land divisions encircled the city, and began a full frontal assault on Warsaw. Though the Polish army managed to repel the attack, Polish general Juliusz Rommel signed all documents to approve the foundation of a civilian resistance group called Służba Zwycięstwu Polski (SZP - Service for Poland's Victory) on the 27th.
Also on the 27th, a ceasefire agreement was signed between General Tadeusz Kutrzeba of the Polish army and the German commander, and not a day later, Warsaw surrendered.

September 30, 1939
Warsaw, Poland

Three days after the ceasefire agreement and Warsaw's surrender, Nazi units entered the naked and destroyed city, though the rest of the Polish army still fights on. Warsaw was in shambles. Even the water works were destroyed in the assaults. Poland itself was in complete chaos for about a month, while the Germans and Soviets split the Polish pie between them. The Nazi ideology dictates that the Polish people, and the rest of the "Slavic Race", must serve the German "master race". To accomplish this goal, the Nazis closed all schools and universities, and the intellectual elite of the Polish people - philosophers, lawyers, authors and politicians - were executed. Many died of reasons such as poor hygiene, as well as an overall lack of food and medicine.

You are all in Warsaw, and wish to meet up with each other to plan your next move. You don't have a fixed base of operations yet. The garrison of Warsaw, allegedly, began to hide or destroy some of their weaponry yesterday.

I'm ready. I'll think of the other character as we go.

The first IC-post will be published when this post will be 7 hours old.
You may still submit character sheets, and also for a short while after the RP begins.
Accepted. As for the scars, the game will begin around the end of September, when Warsaw surrenders, so you may want to reconsider the "scars" bit, as you may or may not get a chance to fight.
