Aro smiled as both Luna and Shade spent time with their newly acquainted friends. As Kjolmar mentioned to Shade about the electricity that Bass had, instead of standing clear she touched a spark that emitted from Bass before getting a slight shock.

“Shade! Kjolmar just mentioned to you about how dangerous that is” he laughed slightly as Shade looked back with a cheeky smile as if she didn’t care.
“Your a character for sure aren’t you” Aro laughed again.

“I can’t wait to start our new adventure, it’s felt like so long since we had our last showdown in Sinnoh” he said to Kjolmar.

All of a sudden a white flash surrounded the area which startled most trainers and Pokemon within the immediate area. Aro turned to see a younger trainer messing with his camera, he was facing Aro which suggested whatever he took a photo of was in this direction. Aro walked over to the trainer.

“Hey was that flash you? I mean it’s the middle of the day, I highly doubt you need your flash on?” He chuckled.

“Aro Celestia, nice to meet you” he extended his hand.
Aro laughed as Kjolmar mentioned how easy the champion Leon looked and also at the comment about how Kjolmar and Aro both lacked a strong presence in their earlier adventures.

“Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves now, it looks like we both still have to acquire and train new Pokemon for this challenge. We may be able to count on our older Pokemon like Luna and Neo but if we get too cocky, our Chances could be over quickly. I hear the Galar region is fiercely competitive.” Aro went on to say before noticing a new face hiding away behind Kjolmar’s leg.

It was safe to say Aro hadn’t seen this species of Pokemon before. The almost dinosaur looking creature seemed timid and cautious of its surroundings. It was clearly new to Kjolmars team.

“Bass the Toxel eh?” He crouched down to Bass’s level “Your a cute little guy aren’t you?” He smiled before looking at Luna and Neo once more.

“Now you mention it Kjolmar...” he grabbed a poke all from his belt. “...I’d like to introduce our new buddy.”

He threw down his ball and from it appeared Aro’s newly caught Dreepy. He had caught it on his first day in Galar and had spent the last couple of days bonding with it. It was very curious of everything it came into contact with, yet still aware of its underwhelming strength.

“This is Shade, I’m sure she and Bass will become good enough friends, maybe even to their level” he said whilst looking at Luna and Neo once more.

Shade seemed interested in Bass and hovered around him a lot inspecting before smiling at the newly met Pokemon.
It had been two days now since Aro had finally touched down on Galar soil and today was finally the Gym Challenge opening ceremony. For the past couple of days he had been equipping himself with new Galarian technology making sure he was kitted and ready to start his new adventure.

Things had calmed down in the Sinnoh region and Aro felt like he was no longer needed there to protect it. The presence of Team Galactic had diminished, meaning it was back under control of his sister and the Sinnoh Elite Four. This meant he was able to do what he had wanted to do since he had his first adventure in Sinnoh: Travel to other regions, and take on their best trainers. It was the dawn of a new adventure for Aro and Galar was the first obstacle to conquer.

As Aro travelled around Motostoke city he realised how different his dress sense was to the residents of Galar. His big black leather coat that trailed behind him and his mid length jet black hair that seemed to sway in the wind seemed quite gothic compared to the clothing here. However in Sinnoh it was more common.

As always Aro’s faithful partner followed alongside him. Luna was a Lucario who had been with Aro since they were both born. Luna hardly ever went into a ball and most of the time could be seen walking just behind Aro. For this reason Luna was the only Pokemon from his team that he brought along to Galar, the rest of his team were left in good hands at his grandparents house.

“Let’s hope he’s here Luna. It’ll be good to see him and Neo again.” Aro smiles as he said this as it had been a few years since he had seen his trainer companion, but now they were planning on meeting up and taking on Galar together.

As they approached Motostoke stadium Aro saw a familiar looking Klingklang next to his old friend. Kjolmar cried out and waved at Aro from afar. Aro ran over and shook hands with his old friend.

“Kjolmar! How have you been buddy! Long time no see!” He said excited to see his friend.

Luna bowed in front on Klingklang before starting to play, this was normally Luna’s way of acknowledging a friend.
The opening ceremony for the Gym challenge was a spectacle that Cedric had witnessed before. It seemed that a lot more people in Galar turned up to these gym battles. In Sinnoh it was rare for gym battles to ever get a few spectators but here it seemed quite the opposite. Maybe this was going to be harder than he first anticipated.

After the ceremony Marlon suggested that they make their way towards the first gym in Turfield. Cedric looked at his companions who had both started making strides into making their Galar team. Meanwhile he hadn’t caught anything still and he knew he’d need help no matter how strong Luna was.

“You guys go ahead, I’m going to take a quick detour through the wild area. I need some new team members if we’re going to stand a chance in this challenge. I’ll catch you guys up along the next route.” He said as he ventured off towards the open wild area.

Cedric was stunned at the wild area and it’s natural beauty. To see Pokemon being able to roam freely in a huge space they can call home almost made him sad that every region didn’t have the same. As he walked around with Luna he found a nice quiet spot atop of a hill, with a view that spanned the whole wild Area.

“Look at that Luna... Isn’t it just... breathtaking..?” He asked Luna, who didn’t seem to answer

Cedric turned to his partner who seemed distracted by a nearby rock formation.

“It’s just rocks Luna...” he giggled “... you’ve seen rocks before” he laughed once more.

This time as Cedric laughed he felt something on his shoulder. He turned quickly to see that a Pokemon sat on his shoulder

“Hey there little guy, and what might you be?” He smiled as he said to the somewhat excited little guy.

Cedrics Rotom phone jumped out his pocket. “Zzzzz- Dreepy, the lingering Pokemon - zzzz”

“Dreepy eh? Your a cute little guy aren’t you?” He said as he pet the Dreepy who seemed to be happy with Cedrics presence. “Hey buddy, you wanna come with me and Luna? We’re gonna take on the gym challenge?” The dreepy started to float around ecstaticlly as if he agreed with the idea.

“Well that’s set then, we best be going to meet the others before they get to to Turfield before us!” He said to Luna and set off with haste.

Cedric rushed to Route 2 and managed to catch up with Marlon and Marilyn, before they were stopped once more by two big guys dressed in black and pink pink clothing.

Cedric was still trying to take as much of his surroundings in around him as possible, it was his first time out of Sinnoh. He wanted to set off and conquer the leagues in all regions but other plans had kept him in his homeland longer than he expected. He felt privileged in a way to be able to say such a beautiful looking region was his first one to explore.

He listened to Magnolia explain the Dynamax phenomenon carefully. It sounded like it was going to be an integral part of battling in Galar. However Marilyn summed it up rather well - all Pokemon can Dynamax but not all could Gigantamax, changing it’s form. He nodded in understanding.

“A scorbunny huh? You must be the fire starter in Galar..” he chuckled as he registered its Pokédex entry.

“I’ve always felt that starter Pokemon should be given to fresh aspiring trainers, so I’d feel bad that I took someone’s chance away when I have Luna already.” He said

“As Marilyn said I’m sure I’ll be able to catch some wild Pokemon relatively soon.” He agreed.

“I’m ready to head off whenever you guys are...” he said to his new companions.
“Thanks for the help Proffesor and you Sonia, I’m sure we will meet again on our journeys.” He smiled and waved as he left the lab.
Cedric handed his phone to Sonia after introductions and she upgraded it to the Rotom phone that Marlon had mentioned earlier. He was amazed by the combination of technology and Pokemon. He started to play with his new device on the way to the Professors lab, until he notice Marilyn drop behind the group to talk to him. Cedric wasn’t aware of Marlon’s Magnezone issue from before.

“I didn’t realise that.” He looked at Luna who seemed to be enjoying the company of other Pokemon. “Luna was my first Pokemon, we’ve known each other our whole lives...literally. I was born on the same day Lunas egg hatched. I could never imagine us being apart. Having said that Marlon must have a reason, I’m sure he doesn’t want to give Magnezone up for nothing.” He replied quietly.

“I take it Glaceon was your first Pokemon too? Your bond seems really strong. Your auras are very synchronised.” He asked her
Aro nodded in agreement with both Khelfin and Sabrina. Although the ideas were somewhat convincing, none of them were sure fire and had their own risks. Sabrina suggested a travel plan for them all to get to Vermillion. Aro nodded again.

“That’s fine by me, but I get to drive this time” he laughed slightly “Maya had all the fun on the way here” he continued.

He looked around the abandoned dojo once more, before going to head out.

“Let’s get out of here, this place doesn’t sit right with me” He turned to his Pokemon “Red, Apollo, come on buddies” he said as they ran over and he put each in their respective ball.

“Stay safe ladies, see you on the other side” he said as he straddled the motorcycle seat.
Marlon jumped back into the conversation.

“So your from Kanto? Maybe they’ve asked trainers from different regions to help with research” he said.

He heard Marilyn call out that Sonia was just up ahead. She stood relatively tall with a faded peach coloured hairstyle. He smiled as he approached her.

“Sonia right? Nice to meet you. I’m Cedric Celestia and this is Luna” he said as he signaled towards his Lucario.

“I believe I’ve bumped into some other trainers you were waiting for...” he turned to Marlon and Marilyn
As Aro left Maya to get acquainted to her new metallic friend, Aro followed Khelfin and Sabrina into the old Dojo which was covered in dust and cobwebs. On the back wall there remained two pictures, one of a Hitmonchan and the other of a Hitmonlee.

Khelfin, who seemed to be rather closed off made a comment about how Apollo had evolved just like his Porygon. Maybe the realisation of what they were dealing with was enough for him to appreciate the value of allies.

“Yeah, he really knows his stuff in battle, Porygon looks like he’s learnt a lot too.” He looked at his companions briefly.
“I just want to say....” he paused. “...I’m glad we all made it back here safe.”

Aro sat down after letting Red and Apollo out to roam the building, He then listened as he let the others tell of their findings. He shook his head as he heard about how Cooper invaded the Goldenrod Radio Tower.

“So that’s how he got onto everyone’s radio....” he started to think, listening in still at the same time.

“We found out that Cooper is using the gym challenge to lure strong trainers in before he gets rid of them, the less strong trainers there are, the less he has to worry about contention in his “new world”. The fossil hunters work for him now, he’s still using the fossils for something - presumably for his minions. The main thing is Genesect Corp and the Fossil Hunters are compromised.” He explained.

He then listened as Khelfin and Sabrina informed them of the rebellion that was happening back in Olivine City, The Amy Initiative. Aro smiled slightly, an appropriate name for their endeavours. However as Sabrina explained, the newest problem was getting back to them all. He looked over to Red and Apollo, they both had grown so much but it clearly still wasn’t enough to be able to take down Cooper. I mean he could even travel very far as it stood.

“Myself and Maya have managed to.... acquire a motorcycle, but it won’t take all of us...” he trailed off not knowing what to say next.
A couple of hours had passed and Aro and Maya were still in Petros’ lab. The sound of the radio and Coopers voice flooded the radio. Aro’s head dropped and his eyes closed as if he knew what that sound meant.

“So what you said, it’s true” Aro said disheartened. “He’s trying to lure us in” He looked up at Petros once more.

“Thank you Petros” he said once more “ I promise I’ll try and stop him.”

“Aro you need to stop this...” Petros trailed off “....get out of this place, try and find a place where you can live and forget about all this...”

“I’m sorry Petros but I can’t do that.” Aro retorted “ I don’t know who I used to be and now with Miss Amy gone I won’t ever know. I can get over not knowing but I can’t sit by and watch him ruin others life’s”

Petros frowned and sighed “Aro the reason she didn’t tell you...” He stopped mid sentence

The sound of a helicopter was beginning to draw closer and closer.

“Petros?” Aro became very much on edge again

“Aro, that’s Coopers goons coming to take me to Sinnoh, you need to get out of here.” He grabbed Aro’s arm and started messing with his poketch frantically.

“Petros! You know!...” Aro said struggling slightly. The sound of the helicopter was almost deafening now.

“Aro, GO! I’ve put some co-ordinates in your poketch, it will help you two get out of here. Just go!” Petros yelled.

Aro didn’t want to leave, in fact it was the last thing he wanted to do but he knew there was more at stake than just his life this time. He didn’t want Red, Apollo, Maya or Zombie to get hurt too. He was angry but he turned to look at Maya and nodded to signal to run, which they did through the metallic corridors or the Lab.

—————————————————————

Aro and Maya ran the whole way to the Co-Ordinates on his Poketch. Which lead them to the outskirts of the facilities which consisted mainly of rocky wastelands. Aro looked around the scene.

“How is this suppose to help us escape? We need to get all the way to Saffron City to meet the others” He said still scouring the area.

As he finished speaking he noticed an oddly positioned piece of waterproof material. It was covered in dirt and seemed to blend in looking like a rock. He approached it and pulled on the material, as the sheet pulled back it revealed a dirty motorbike. He turned to Maya and called her over.

“I think this will get us there” he said as they both pulled the bike out of its hidden position.

“Just one question... Who’s driving?” He laughed slightly

The road was tough on the old bike. Suspension was well and truly a thing of the past. Along the way stopping off to battle bandits in order to get more fuel. The battles were tough, something Aro hadn’t felt in a while. It gave him a good opportunity however to learn more about his newest member, Apollo. Aro was in awe at its balance of agility and offence, it was almost elegant to watch.

Apollo seemed like a natural fighter and instantly clicked with Aro’s battling style. So much so that it was almost like Aro had unlocked its potential. During a double fight versus a couple of bandit group leaders, Apollo evolved into a Doublade and was able to take them out.

—————————————————————

Eventually they made it to Saffron City, the place seemed eerily decrepit. They parked the motorbike outside of the old Dojo.

“This is the place...” Aro said looking at the the run down building that used to be a symbol of greatness and dedication.

“Now I guess we find out if the others made it...” He trailed off not wanting to think about that right now.
