APPEARANCE
"Not much that really stands out. Unless you count looking like a dude from a distance as standing out."
Brynn is fairly tall for a woman; a good 5 inches taller than the average for her age. This height is reflected in her lanky physique and the long strides she takes when walking. She has slightly tanned skin, not unlike someone mixed cream paint with a small drop of copper, and her eyes are the color of dying grass. Light freckles adorn her slim face, resting on her blush cheeks and stretching down to either side of her thin, watermelon lips.
Being a hater of all things makeup, Brynn has a somewhat natural beauty to her, which is broken up by occasional breakouts along her hairline, and a scar on the right of her upper lip. This scar was not gained honorably in battle, but rather was a result of her 6-year-old self attempting to shave. Needless to say, her foster father at the time was surprised to find his foster daughter with a disposable razor in her hand and a bleeding lip. But, hey, she got rid of her lip hair, so she was happy.
It seems the habit of keeping up with her hair has stuck with her, as Brynn makes regular trips to the barbers. What was once a cascading waterfall of dark brown hair has now been reduced to a short, swept over pixie cut with faded blonde tips; an attempt to make washing and maintaining it quicker and easier. Since it's not really for style (aside from the dye on the tips, of course), she often hides her hair under a varying assortment of comic book snapbacks.
Said snapbacks are worn in conjunction with baggy, neutral clothing - neither too feminine or masculine. Her preferred style is grungy t-shirts that disguise her surprisingly defined chest - living up to the 'tom-boy stereotype' - and she feels naked without having some form of rope and leather bracelet on her wrist. As for pants, she wears lounge pants and sweatpants, finding jeans too restrictive and scratchy. However, some days she can be found wearing a pair of distressed baggy jeans, and even maybe a tank top. Whatever she's wearing, her outfits will always be worn with the same pine-green, zip-up hoodie, the sleeves carelessly rolled up to her elbow, tucking away the picked at cuffs and their abundance of loose thread. This is an effort to hide the strange birthmark on her left shoulder - it's a stark contrast to her skin tone, being a ghostly white, and fairly large, around 3 x 2.5cm. Despite it having no real distinct shape, Brynn absolutely hates it, as to her it is just plain ugly and out of place.
Moving on, it's hard to miss Brynn as she walks around the town. She often appears as she's in a rush, shoulders hunched and long strides practically swallowing up the distance between her and her destination, but her demeanour and attitude around people say otherwise. She's incredibly casual in the way she interacts with others (in the brief moments that she actually does), vaguely waving her arms around as she talks to people. She tends to avoid eye contact, instead letting her eyes take in her surroundings, flicking back and forth. One might think she weren't listening, or simply found it difficult to concentrate.

PSYCHOLOGY
"Don't even try to psychoanalyze me."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Brynn's goal is a surprising one, if you factor in her brooding and closed-off nature. She actually wants to be a musician, touring the world as she sings songs of her life, amongst other things.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Brynn believes you should live life however you want, but fulfil your goals. To live life with unfulfilled potential is not to live at all. That way, when you eventually die, what reason do people have for remembering you? "Here lies YourName, person who did nothing they said they would but it's okay because they died."
SECRETS ⫻ She keeps the fact that she's a foster child a strict secret. She's sure lots of people have plenty of ammunition against her, so why should she add to that list?
DESIRES ⫻ Brynn just wants to be adopted. It may sound unfavorable to most other kids, who grew up with their biological parents, but it's a hell of a lot better than being passed from home to home.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Asexual. She's always thought about maybe dating people, but going any further than that is just off the table.
FEARS ⫻ Above all else, Brynn fears commitment. Not in any sort of romantic way, but in general. After all, what's the point of getting attached to the people around you when you'll probably be in another foster home come next year?
REPUTATION ⫻ Being new to the town as a whole, Brynn doesn't have much of a reputation outside of the fact she helps run Welsh& Co. Butchers.
PET PEEVES ⫻ There are many, many things that annoy Brynn, but worst of all would definitely be 'bold', loud people who like to make scenes. She hasn't seen much of them in Farmer Hill, thank god
QUIRKS ⫻ Practically every non-dangerous item in her hand winds up being gently tapped on the bottom of her jaw. It's a concentration habit she just can't quit.

BACKSTORY
"Life's just fantastic when you don't even know who gave birth to you."
Not much is known about Brynn's parents, at least not by her. All that's known is that her mother birthed her in Colorado, and at the ripe old age of 1 years old, placed her into foster care and left her there. Since then, Brynn's life has been nothing but foster home after foster home, wondering why she's so unappealing to everyone that ever tries to care for her. This obviously had an affect on her, as she became more closed off as the years went on, causing her stay with different foster parents to be shorter and shorter. She would sometimes get her hopes up, especially if her stay lasted longer than usual, but she was always rejected in the end. Things back at the children's home were mostly uneventful, aside from one time that she tried to run away from the home altogether, but she never got much farther than the gate.
To try and combat the growing doubt in her mind that maybe nobody wanted her as their child, she began to find solace in music and songwriting. She managed to convince the home to buy a piano for the kids, and ever-so-subtly spent more and more time on it than the other kids. Luckily for her, they weren't all that interested in learning music, but she found herself fascinated by how much learning and playing the piano relieved her stress. At first, she started off just doing piano covers of her favourite songs, and then it evolved into writing her own short ballads. She filled up book after book with chords, sheet music and lyrics, hiding each and every one away from the world. It was her own little thing; every day she'd go to the terribly repurposed music room, playing to her heart's content until the lights went out. She even missed it every time another foster parent decided to care for her.
Things continued as normal - Brynn hopped from foster home to foster home, her passion for music growing, and even discovering new passions like writing poems and drawing little sketches. She was never as good at them as she was piano, but it was something to add a little variety mix, so she couldn't really complain. Her most recent - and still currrent - foster parent is a man named Jonathan Welsh, who picked her up 6 months after her 17th birthday, in the middle of the summer, and drove her off to some place called Farmer Hill. She'd never heard of it before, and found it strange that a guy in a town this small and isolated would want to foster, but it was a change of scenery from all the big, loud cities.
Jonathan (he insisted on being called Jon if Brynn wasn't comfortable with calling him her foster-dad) seemed to be a cardboard cut-out of a suburbian dad - dad jokes, cheesy nicknames, running a family business... Somewhere deep down, Brynn hoped this could finally be her chance at getting adopted, however she quickly swallowed that hope. Even if she was probably going to get handed onto the next person, she figured she could at least help out with Jon's family business, and so Welsh's Butchers became Welsh& Co. Butchers. She even got to paint the new name herself!
Then, the start of the school year rolled around, and Jonathan had already gotten her a spot at Grand Ridge Academy. She was impressed, to say the least, but wary that she'd actually have to interact with other people. Nevertheless, she strolled into the school, her emotions a mix of excitement and nervousness. Even for a closed-off loner, she still couldn't ignore the fact that this was one of the most sought-after schools, and she actually got a place. Still, she couldn't let it get her attached to Jon...

SKILLS & TALENTS
"If I was in a horror movie, I'd definitely be the first to die. Not even a token black guy can change that."
Piano/Keyboard ⫻ Brynn has spent almost 4 years playing the piano, so it's suffice to say she can play it pretty darn well. What started as a way to relieve stress became the light of her life; helping her through the thick and thin.
Songwriting ⫻ Throughout those years of playing piano, Brynn also started writing her own music, typically songs of her emotions or just instrumental piano. She likes to think she's good at writing both lyrics and melodies, but with no real way to get out into the music scene, she may never know.
Poetry ⫻ Writing poetry isn't too different to writing lyrics - they rhyme, they (most of the time) mean things, and they're a good way to express emotions. That means Brynn was easily able to transfer her lyricism skills into poetry skills.
Sketching ⫻ While she's not all that talented at it compared to other people, Brynn has a fair amount of confidence in the fact that she can do simple sketches quite well.

There's not a single image on the internet I could find, so instead I did a crappy outline of a balloon. Get it? Her theme song's red balloon so she has a balloon image? Anyways, enjoy it. I put a good 10 minutes into it, hrmph.
@Surtr Here's my Character Sheet! I do hope it's okay, but I can always revise it or try out different concepts if it's not up to par. I'd also like to see what kind of power you could give my character, since you said in the OP you were willing to do that. It's gonna be interesting, that's for sure.
