Alrighty, so. The fact that they have metal skin and what not is cool, but theyre another race entirely from humans. So essentially, without structure, were at a stage that would be a start of civilization sandbox, we'd just be using a slightly altered humanoid race. We need a way to tie in and make a connection between this race and the extinct humans, how and why this race got here, and what their purpose could/would be moving forward. Really, the potential is endless. I think if we brainstorm structure here in the interest check, we can hit the ground running in the actual RP post.

Sam Fisher

Sam sighed from his back, gazing up at the stars. He and Bo lay underneath the forest canopy after a long day's travel. They had been making their way towards New York City after multiple tips from fellow Rebellion members, too many tips to ignore any longer. They were just a couple days outside of the city now, having left from Arizona months ago. They went to Arizona after they caught wind of a Rebel base being formed. His hopes were dashed however, finding nothing but another rumor spread by The Regime with hopes of tricking Rebel sympathizers out of the shadows. Another near death experience, another escape under his belt. He figured he had to be somewhere high up on The Regime's most wanted list by now. He chuckled aloud at the thought. "Whadya think they'll do to us if they ever get their hands on us Bo?" he said, rolling over and sprawling out onto Bo like he always did. Bo snorted, shaking his mane free of the thought of capture. "Yeah I suppose youre right. We'll be dead before we ever find that out." He smiled and patted Bo on the ribs sternly, just how he liked. They were secluded where they lay, with a wall of rock a few feet away and heavy brush surrounding them. Knowing nothing would make it within a hundred yards without Bo knowing, Sam allowed himself to drift to sleep, at peace in the wild with Bo, where he belonged.

Name: Sam Fisher

Description: Tall and lean. No body markings. Handsome with brown hair and grey eyes.



Age: 21

Personality: Sam is a natural born leader. Had the country not gone to hell, he would have been a military man like the rest of his male family members. He often speaks before thinking. He is stubborn. He loves a good arguement and admittedly is bad about thinking hes always right, lucky for him he usually is. He has guts, courage, and a moral calling to defend all those who are innocent and defenseless. He may come on strong but there is not a cruel bone in his body. He would risk his life for a total stranger if the opportunity arose. He has just the right amount of confidence, he is not arrogant. For a reason obvious to all others but him, he is a leader wherever he goes. People just listen to him for some reason, and he cherishes that responsibility. He enjoys being around people but also needs alone time with just his pokemon. Its his time to recharge. Anyone intending to harm a friend of Sam will only do so over his dead body.

Background: Sam is a Rebel to the core. He will die before The Regime take him or his friends. He grew up in the midwest of America in a rural area. He has made his way to New York City after hearing rumors of Rebel activity there. His family has long since been captured by the Regime, most likely dead. He has been on his own since he left home after school at the age of 18. His mission is to end The Regime.

Pokemon Name and Nickname if applicable: Growlithe, nicknamed Bo.

Pokemon Background: Sam met Growlithe at a young age while on a camping trip with his father. They were best friends from the moment they met. Sam had no pokeball but didnt need one. After meeting, Bo would not let Sam leave the forest without him. They have been inseparable ever since.

As well, please post in this thread any ideas you have. So far weve established that legendaries are essentially just dangerously strong pokemon, they do not make the world turn. Also, tasteful editing will be required on many pokemon if youre following their pokedex entries. Pokemon cannot be hotter than the sun and what not. IF legendaries are found or roused, wherever and however that may be, the general consensus is that the regime are the only ones with the resources to kill/capture them. Of course, being the regime they are, if captured they will be misused for the regime's personal gain. I.e. Zapdos captured, imprisoned in a huge complex and guarded prison, and its electricity harness for personal use by the regime. One idea is that the regime have developed a pokeball/control device of some kind allowing them to harness pokemon against their will. That is how they came to be so powerful, they have sheer numbers and power. Also, we'll need to discuss and agree upon a guideline for pokemon intelligence and its role. Are all pokemon on level with humans as far as intelligence yet restricted physically, or will intelligence depend on species. I.e. Magikarp would not be very bright. If we gave them even a basic intelligence and knowledge of what is "right or wrong", one could safely assume pokemon and humans could enter into a partnership or trainer dominant relationship without pokeballs. They would submit to the relationship, thus forming the of trainer and partner. This would really solidify a bond between pokemon and trainer if they werent just captured, they have a role in ending up with you. It also opens up doors for rebels without access to pokeballs. It would add another aspect to their stories. Youre not just in hiding and on the run alone, its WITH your pokemon, outside of its pokeball and everything.

This is a mixture of Pokemon and action thriller. Im old school and do not know all current 700+ pokemon and mega evolutions etc etc. I am knowledgable up to Gen 3(Ruby and Sapphire) so that is the cutoff. Im sorry if thats a dealbreaker. Stats and level will not exist. Special ability will not exist. I want a strong character to Pokemon connection, so you will not have 6 Pokemon. Ideally only 1, but I'm gonna allow up to 3. Strictly because if you roll a character on the regime side you or the people youre affiliated with may have political influence allowing you freedoms. Otherwise, you're lucky to have Pokemon anyway, much less a pokeball to keep it in. All of that is regulated and controlled by the regime. No matter the side, at the end of the day, we are an oppressed population. You will however have access to all available moves your Pokemon can do, not just 4. I recommend that if your Pokemon has evolutions, start from the first one to show growth throughout. Be realistic with your choice. If youre a rebel constantly on the run from town to town, hauling around a Lapras makes no sense. I'm toying with the idea of having devices that allow us to understand Pokemon when they talk, and this would be a normal item to have. You do not have to start with a Pokemon but it's fairly important that you attain one sooner than later. I will be rolling a rebel so if you're looking to stick around me, that's where I'll be. Generally speaking, my plan as of now is for good to ultimately triumph in the end. That end could be thousands of pages from now, who knows. I'm open to anything though. Also, defeating a gym leader in this day and age is a sure fire way to to tracked down and have your Pokemon confiscated by the regime. Big brother is always watching.

I'm looking for solid and creative writers. I want this to be well done so onlookers can read it as a book and be excited for the next entry. I don't expect a page but anything under 5 ish sentences on the regular won't fly. This isn't the cartoon. People die. Pokemon can and will die. The attacks will cause the appropriate damage they should. I.e. repeatedly cutting will cause bleedout. This has a ton of potential. Realistically is like it to be a 6-8 person RP. Any more will get too busy. I want to be intrigued with not only my character but yours as well, meaning if you are not on a high school reading level you are at a disadvantage but I'm not making any requirements as long as your ability and effort are there. If 20 are interested, I'll take the best 6-8 character sheets. Your writing there is how I will guage your skill level. I'm not asking for literature gold, but it does need to be at a high-school level.

I'm not an English or literature graduate. I'm not perfect. I'm experienced in RP and writing but it is my hope that more skilled writers than me take part in this. If you consider yourself an excellent writer with a knowledge of our subject matter here, feel free to whip up an excerpt and PM it to me. I'll consider it a co-GM application. Blow me away and you can help GM this thing!

This has a lot of potential. Dont be frightened by the restrictions on group size and no stats. This isnt the video game. It is a real world action thriller as if Pokemon actually existed. Your pokemon is essentially your best friend, brother/sister, theyre what keeps you sane and alive in times like these. Precisely why you dont need six of them. The regime has their hand in EVERYTHING. Pokeballs are almost non existent, along with many other items. If they find out you have a strong pokemon, they will want it.

Simple rules. No godmode. No killing of player/important characters unless agreed upon. Not sexual content past pg. Cursing only where you feel appropriate to do so and even then let's keep it classy. Any questions, concerns, ideas...PLEASE pm me. Feel free to post character sheets here to be approved. Rise of the Rebellion

The year is 2238. America is at war with itself for the second time in our history. Looking back, nobody can quite believe we ended up here, like this. What we do know is that around the year 2016, the American government started to rapidly evolve into a corrupt and finely tuned machine. The Regime was slowly but surely built by a government, long since compromised, over the span of decades. The Regime. A deadly combination of uninformed citizens and greed driven leaders. American citizens were essentially unaware of just how much danger they had put themselves in by letting their leaders gradually take their liberties. Bit by bit, the controlling families and corporations of America finally enacted a plan of total control over the population, a plan that had been set into motion decades before. Most believe the assassination of president John F. Kennedy was the starting point of the corruption. The moment in time when the seed of control was planted into the minds of those with power. Spreading its roots into like minded peers, the idea of control was simply that those with power could manipulate their way through the future, together, and determine what happened as they saw fit. They became so artfully skilled at keeping up their facade to the American populous that they struck out bolder and bolder as the years went by, herding their sheep with grace. First it was simple things, but it snowballed into what we see now. A dictatorship.

The Regime is what they call themselves. They rule America with absolute power. They control everything from our economy to our military, even our pokemon. They have confiscated all pokeballs, they control all pokemon gyms and hospitals, they have their hand in every part of our lives. They have started a registry of all who oppose them, and send the non confromers to their labor camps. Only those inside the Regime know the details of their power but they have developed a force of pokemon that is hundreds of thousands strong. Artificial creation in labs as well as a mind control device of some kind is almost certainly the culprits. The Regime believes pokemon are tools, slaves even, and nothing more. They treat them harsher than words can describe. The only glimmer of hope in times like these are those who refuse to play by the rules of The Regime. Those of us who refuse to be controlled. We believe pokemon are here as friends and companions, as family members and allies. We are The Rebellion. We are horribly outnumbered. We have little to no leadership or resources, and we have no real plan. What we do have is hope. Hope that we can one day take back our beloved country, and put and end to The Regime.
