@Vee Really? xD That's cool! It'll be interesting to see how they all interact with one another. I'm excited :D
The only thoughts I really had were of having my character's clan live in a fairly forested area close to the mountains and they do a lot of mining and hunting. Because of their limited water supplies and due to the fact that the land isn't ideal for farming, they have to trade with other clans for fish and crops. The weather is usually fairly cold and rainy and they're used to wearing heavy furs and leathers. I was also thinking of having them worship a single higher being. Loyalty and honor is hugely important to them and they're fairly proud people which makes seeking help from others difficult for them. They used to be well known for their military prowess and their secure location at the mountains had always seemed to keep them strong until they were overrun by the barbarians and it became their downfall. They were trapped against the mountains and because the lack of conflict had lessened their need for a large, strong army, the majority of their people were slaughtered and those that could escape had no choice but to abandon their home and run for their lives.

For my character, I had wanted to make her fairly headstrong. She's completely devoted to her people and will do whatever it takes to ensure they're safe and strong, even if that means doing some not necessarily nice things to get there. She can be manipulative and prideful but her heart is in the right place. She likely wont be too pleased with the arrangement of the marriage but she'll do her best to work the situation to her advantage.

Obviously I have a lot to work on and come up with a good history, but these are a few things I had in mind. That being said, if anyone feels like anything I've mentioned doesn't work or will clash with their own ideas, just let me know and I'll change it :)

I'll also be away all day tomorrow so I won't get a chance to work much more on this until Sunday. Hope that's alright and sorry if I'm slowing things down.

Looking forward to creating this world with you all :D
Okay wonderful :) PMs are fine with me. I think you might be right with that. I will no doubt have many more questions for you but for now I'm happy to just get brainstorming. I'll keep you all updated on anything I come up with so that things aren't too similar or too different. This is going to be fun. I'm really excited for this :D
So, I have a few questions so I can get to work creating a culture/history for my character's clan, if I'm accepted that is. Would the clans ever have dealt with any kind of dangerous creatures before moving to this new land? Or is everything mostly new to them? And is there specific things you had in mind for each clan or anything that you would want us to include?
I might also be interested in this. I have some questions but I'll post again later once I get on the computer.
@cardtricks I would definitely be interested in a Dragon Age roleplay between the Warden and Alistair. I would prefer to play a female Cousland if possible, though I don't plan to have her become Queen. I'd love to hear any ideas you had in mind if you are interested and of course I'm more than happy to take on other characters as we need them. I'm replaying Origins at the moment and I have a craving for a good Dragon Age roleplay :D
**Elora** Elora sighed as she stepped into the bar, hating her parents for making her do this and hating herself even more for letting them direct her life. It had not been difficult to find Jett. He frequented this human bar often enough that her parents had been able to assure here that this was where he would be. She had hoped that he wouldn't show but when she caught sight of him heading inside, she had followed him. Reluctantly. Elle wore a light, wine coloured dress that hugged her waist and fell loosely from that point to half way down her thigh. Over it, she wore a black leather jacket and high boots on her feet, reaching almost to her knees. Her dark hair hung in loose waves around her shoulders and her lips were painted to match her dress while her eyes held a smokey, silver shadow. She crossed the room, watching as Jett set up the pool table. He had likely noticed her presence by now. They were the only two vampires in the room and she could pick out his scent easily. "Jett Vaskial, back on the market," Elle purred as she sidled up beside him. "And it was a calm and mutual decision, too!" She laughed lightly, and sat up on the side of the pool table, making it difficult for him to ignore her if he wanted to play. "Somehow I doubt things went so smoothly. Veronica was always so hot headed, but then, we never did get along." She and the supermodel had never had the best relationship. Perhaps they were too alike. Elora had never been known for her even temper, after all. She glanced sideways at him. "I caught the end of your show," she said in way of an explanation. "Very convincing. I bet all the human girls are assuring themselves that this is their chance!" She smirked, crossing one long leg over the other at a leisurely pace and smoothing down the material of her dress. This had not been the first she'd heard of Jett's break up with Veronica Maze but it _was_ the reason she was here instead of out enjoying herself. Her parents had been only too ready to take advantage of the vampire's sudden availability. Anything to further themselves. She didn't know why she ever played along and she wasn't entirely sure that she would this time. Not when it would have such an enormous impact on her life. Jett was handsome, there was no doubt about that. He was talented and resourceful and funny. All of the things she typically liked in a man. The problem was that she'd grown up with the firm impression that the Vaskial family were a threat and although her parents had found that easy to turn off when they had something to gain, she found it more challenging. She had decided that she would come here and torment him a little before returning home to announce that he hated her and their plan would never come to fruition. There would be arguments, but there was always arguments. "Aren't you going to buy me a drink, Jett?" she teased. "I hear you're a gentleman everywhere but in the bedroom." Her eyes flickered over to the bar woman who was making her way towards them with a beer and a plate of fries. The young woman did not seem impressed that Elora had taken up a conversation with him. "I am feeling rather thirsty." She made a point of gazing at the girl's neck before returning her attention to him and arching a dark eyebrow, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.
**Name:** Elora _'Elle'_ De Launciet **Age:** Physically, 26 though she's been around for nearly 130 years. **Appearance:** ![enter image description here](http://memberfiles.freewebs.com/56/89/72838956/photos/undefined/annachristinespeckhart6.jpg "enter image title here") **Personality:** It's safe to say that Elle is not the sweet, simpering kind of girl. She's very much the opposite unless a situation arises in which she needs to get her way, then she's all sweet words and batting eyelashes. She prides herself on her strength of mind and character, and will not mould herself or her views to fit anyone else's ideals. She speaks her mind and tends to offer her opinion where it's not wanted which grates on a lot of people's nerves. People often find her a little too honest or sarcastic but as long as they don't take her too seriously, they'll see that she's actually a lot of fun to be around. Elora does not like to be told what to do. Especially when her parents are the ones ordering her about which they tend to do more often than she'd like. As the youngest of her family, she has forever been treated like the baby, despite the fact that she has been a grown woman for quite some time. Part of her is relieved at the prospect of escaping her family, though she wishes it did not entail joining the Vaskial's. She does not plan to make this easy for anyone involved. Deep down somewhere under that hard shell of Elle's there's a soft caramel centre. Of course, she doesn't let just anyone see her softer side. It's rare she ever get's close enough to anyone to show it. While she acts as though little effects her, she's really more emotional than she let's on. If she's upset about something, she'll bottle up all soppy emotions until she can deal with them alone. That's the only time she can truly be herself. She doesn't want to let anyone see the vulnerable side of her. **History:** Elora's family has always been powerful and wealthy. Just not as powerful and wealthy as the Vaskial family. For centuries, there has been rivalry and competition between the two houses but that is all about to change. It was her mother who suggested the joining of the families in an attempt to gain some leverage and even the playing field and Elle had not been entirely interested until she'd learned that she was to be the pawn in her parent's plans. Elora has an older brother, Sebastian, who is the heir to her family's wealth. She had always played second best. He was their oldest, their only son. He would be the one furthering the De Launciet line while she would become part of some other household once she married. It had also been the driving point behind her father's argument. "Everything will go to Sebastian. Don't you want to further this family's legacy? You could bring so much to us if you'd only marry the Vaskial boy." She didn't like the idea. There had been so much animosity between their families for as long as she could remember. How was she supposed to be civil to them, now? Least of all marry one of them! She had expected this day to come, of course. Her parents had made it clear that she would be matched to another upstanding member of vampiric society. It doesn't mean she has to like it, however.
(1) **Name:** Lydia Collins **Age:** 24 **Appearance:** ![enter image description here](http://memberfiles.freewebs.com/56/89/72838956/photos/undefined/600full-barbara-palvin_large.jpg "enter image title here") **Personality:** If there is one word to describe Lydia, it would be compassionate. She just cares a lot. About everything and everyone. She's almost like a mother figure to those around her. Still, there are often times when she is the one that needs comforting and protecting and in those moments she is childlike and sincere. A little vulnerable too, though she doesn't like to admit it. She's always eager to help if she can and believes that if you have the opportunity to do good, you should do it. Her patience can be thin at times but she is also stubborn and passionate. She will not give up on something she has started if she knows that it is possible for her to finish it. She doesn't like to fail others, or herself and her determination is often contagious. She's not perfectionist but she will always give her best when she can. She likes to please people, but only if there someone she cares about. She will not give her efforts for someone that she does not like or has done her wrong. There's a more playful and flirtatious side to Lydia, too While it's important to be serious when the situation matters, she also thinks that it's good to goof off and mess around too. It's important to her that she's enjoying her life and having fun even through all the darkness and bad times. Otherwise, what's the point? You've got to make the most the little time you have. She likes to make the best of every situation put in front of her, despite the fact that it sometimes gets her into a little bit of trouble. After all, having fun doesn't always allow one to follow rules. **History:** Lydia grew up the only child to two loving parents and for most of her childhood, she was happy and sheltered from the wrong in the world. It was when she was thirteen that her father lost her job and after a year of struggling financially, he took to alcohol. He would spend hours at the local bar instead of searching for some way to support his family. Soon enough he began to take his frustration and anger out on her mother. He would hit her and abuse her verbally and she took it. Lydia was terrified but had no idea what to do. It wasn't until she was fifteen that things changed. She tried, as she always did, to soothe the arguing one night but got in the way. Her father struck her and the change in her mother was instant. She packed up their things, told her father that they were leaving, and brought her to her grandmother's house. Things were better then but money was still an issue. Lydia found a summer job when she turned sixteen and kept it on once school started again, eager to help out her mother and her grandmother. She studied hard and went to college before getting a job as a Kindergarten teacher. She adores children and loves her job but is glad of the long break she gets over summer. She had planned a surprise holiday for her ex boyfriend but they broke up before she could give him the news. It was for the best, either way. He had been cheating on her and she had no time for people like that. She believes that honesty is the most valuable thing in a relationship and she wasn't willing to give him a second chance. If she wasn't worth his full attention before, she doesn't want it now. Still, now she's stuck with a trip she's not sure she should go on anymore. It would do her good to get away but she doesn't want her money to go to waste.
**Lydia** "This is crazy," Lydia whispered to herself as she stood at the docks, staring up at the huge cruise ship in the water in front of her. It was bigger than she had expected it to be and she could already envision herself getting lost once she boarded. That was not what was crazy about this situation, however. The crazy part was that she'd sold her spare ticket to a man that she didn't even know. Mark had assured her that he and this Steven guy were good friends and that she wouldn't have any trouble with him but even so, she felt a nervous ball of energy knot low in her stomach. She had managed to convince the travel agency to change the room from a double to a twin but she would still have to share a room with a virtual stranger. Mark had also implied that it would be good for her to get to know Steven because he would likely need her assistance navigating a new place until he was more familiar with his surroundings. He had explained that the young man had lost his sight in a house fire and had showed her a picture of him so that she would know who to look for once he arrived considering he would not be able to see her. That must have been awful for him. To go from having perfect vision one day to losing complete sight the next must have been a terrifying thing to endure. It was a shame that he would not be able to see how beautiful the waves looked as they glittered beneath the sun, or take in the sights they would likely see along their way. Lydia turned her attention from the ship and focused once more on the crowds of people, her eyes searching for her travel companion. She leaned her weight against the suitcase she had with her, brushing her hair back from her face as it ruffled in the sea breeze. It was a beautiful day and she was excited to finally board and get going, despite her worries about making a potentially terrible decision. At least it would be a story to tell, she just wished one of her friends had been able to join her. She was sure Steven was nice and all, but things were likely to be awkward for a little while. What if they did not get along at all? She caught her bottom lip between her teeth as she worried. At least it was only for a week. She could get through a week with him if he did happen to be a total ass. Mark was usually a good judge of character, however. She had to imagine that Steven would be as nice as he'd claimed.
