Zed eyed the woman who was still following him. She wasn't easily dissuaded now was she? When the girl suddenly brought up the topic of the murder, Zed couldn't help but wonder... was the guy he had detected earlier, the same murderer? Nonetheless, greater things were happening here... The city was being attacked left and right by unknown perpetrators... the murder mystery will have to wait. Zed knew he had acquired the scent, so it will only take a while for him to track down that same guy, assuming that person was indeed the murderer. For now, he had to check on the chaotic explosions happening.

"They say that it is the heroes' job to keep this city safe, however, when those heroes are doing a lousy job... It's up to even the sidekicks to clean up the mess." Zed spoke as he headed to the streets. "Try to keep up if you can." the lad mumbled as he dashed quickly towards the site of the explosions. He could detect such large traces of gun powder and smoke in the air, those explosions must be intense. Even his curse could prove useful after all. As the cafe became nearer, Zed stopped at the sight of a woman who had an ominous aura.

A familiar sight came into view, the cafe where it all started.

His eyes were intently staring down the blonde woman who was carrying a briefcase in a nonchalant manner. The demon inside was telling him that the woman was trouble.

"A potential ally that female human is. Ally yourself with her, NOW!"

Zed locked out the voice inside him as he prepared to take action. He could smell something odd with the woman... something dangerous. If there was one thing Zed progressed in his ability, it was the fact that he can freely evolve but the hard part is, preventing a sudden evolution.

Zed took in a deep breath, examining the different scents in the air. It was all so filled with death and decay. There was only one way to be sure. Zed approached the woman who looked about 18 or 19 years of age, carefully eyeing her briefcase.

"Excuse me? Would you happen to know what might have happened there at the lower district? Lately, a lot of explosions are coming up." Zed asked in a really soft tone, slowly inhaling the air to check for any suspicious scents. The bandages on his arms were slowly loosening for reasons only he knows.
Is that weapon sort of like a bomb or something? XD
"Please... just don't come that close..." Zed whispered in a frightened voice. "It doesn't like you." he added, a tinge of fear in his ominous words. However, Zed composed himself as he let out an exasperated sigh. He had seen the girl wielding her powers, she was a gifted one...

"There's something wrong today... chaos... Everything. The murder... I don't even." Zed stuttered as he tightened his bandages. "Damn it all... Look, something is at work here. I know you have a gift, so do I, rather, a curse. More importantly, when I was surveying the scene I detected blood... spilled blood. The scent was so powerful it nearly drove me mad. I don't know if that was the murderer but... he reeked of death." Zed spoke as he leaned on the wall.

Suddenly, another explosion occurred.

"Great. All hell breaks loose." Zed sighed as he looked at the location of the distant rising smoke. "My name is Zed. Zed Brand. Thank you for helping me earlier, however, I'm afraid I'm much more of a threat than an ally. Back in the days, they used to call me the Predator, and for good reasons. There's something inside me that wants to kill you, wants to kill anyone who makes me strong. I appreciate what you've done, and I do hope you keep doing it." Zed continued speaking as he turned around and started walking.

"I'll devote my attention to solving who committed the murder... I think I know where to begin." Zed mumbled. "I think it's time I did something for humanity."
Sorry for the very late reply... I was travelling somewhere XD Anyway, fixing up a post now
Lost in his own thoughts, Zed was interrupted by a bellow of sirens down the street. Tons of people were already dashing to the spot as Zed's curiosity got the better of him. He had followed the crowd to a rather grim spot. It seemed that an assassination had took place, a brutal one at that. Zed shook his head as he observed the scene. He was careful not to touch any other humans for fear that the beast might awaken. He had already sensitive senses, a little stimuli might cause a disaster. It was just so sad that a person's life would be ended swiftly... how cheap life is nowadays.

In his contemplation, Zed had become absent-minded. He didn't notice a man in a green shirt with black hair in his way, causing the foolish cleaner to slightly bump a little on the man's arm. Zed was startled as he backed away swiftly.

"I am so sorry! It's my fault I didn't see where I was---" Zed's apology was cut short as an inner voice rose to his throat.

"The scent of blood is clear in this man... His hand has been stained with the blood of an innocent."

The demon within had smelled the blood... wherever this guy went, he had murdered someone. Zed's eyes opened in panic as his arms pulsated. If there was something so effective in bringing out the demon, it was violence.

This guy was dangerous and Zed wanted nothing to do with this man, the demon within wanted to lash out though. The panicked cleaner rushed out of the crowd and headed towards his shack, there was too much stimuli for one day. En route to his shack, he had to pass through one of the alleys as he wanted to forget the scent of blood. In his haste, he saw another figure... It was the girl who helped him when he was being ganged up. He could never forget that scent...

"You... again.." Zed muttered as he debated staying or running. "It's not safe there... not safe at all."
"Kill them..."

"Stop it..." Zed muttered as a new voice broke his thoughts. It seemed that the little show attracted some new people... The bums seemed scared out of their wits.. a just reward perhaps. Zed was surprised that people actually cared for people like him which was quite rare nowadays with the growth of technology.

"Uhh yes... Thank you so much for your aid." Zed bowed in respect as he spoke awkwardly in a rather light tone. His eyes searched for other people who might have been responsible for the payback. It was more than a month that Zed has experienced human contact that was nice in nature... so this really came off as a wonder.

"You don't need aid... You are strong on your own. RELEASE US!"

Zed grunted as his arms pulsated with pain... He struggled to suppress the beast that had been awakened with the rise of new emotions. The lad leaned on his waste bin as he held up a hand to the girl.

"Please... I do prefer for you to keep your distance... It's not safe." Zed muttered as he winced.

"RELEASE US!"

"NO!" Zed shouted as he knocked over the waste bin, spilling his collected trash into the street. "Let it go."

With a grunt Zed knocked over his broom with his hand, slicing it in half. His eyes darted to the people around him who were looking at him with such judging eyes. They must be thinking that he is stupid or crazy. The metallic waste bin itself was punctured with over 5 holes.

"You have no friends... Everyone is an enemy! SHOW THEM THE PAIN YOU HAVE FELT!"

The bandages on his arms and face began to tear apart as the troubled cleaner dashed through the crowd, dodging one after the other. His body began to feel hot, it was starting... the Evolution.

Zed found an alley where he dashed into, toppling behind bins and debris. Zed slumped on an iron fence, the bandages began to fall apart. His will had become too weak by the sudden experience of nice emotions... The beast took advantage of his momentary mental slip and sabotaged his control.

"You are mine."

"STAY AWAY!" Zed shouted as his sanity returned... He was nearly exhausted. He checked his arms... they had slightly evolved into spikes, ready to turn into a blade. The feedback won't be too severe since it was only a partial mutation... "I need to get away from people..." Zed mumbled to himself as he tightened his bandages and exited the alley...

"I don't want to kill anyone... Not again."
"Blood... so much blood."

Sounds of screaming and pain resonated through the air as a rampaging beast appeared within the haze of smoke and flame. It had a head of a demon, wings, a fortified armor, a sharp blade, and some enhanced limbs. Every soldier who tried to suppress it were sliced in half as blood spattered on the ground, running the waters red. The sky turned crimson as the wind hissed its rage... the beast looked to the heavens and released an ear-piercing roar.

Zed woke up from this hellish nightmare, his bandages pulsating above his pale skin. It was morning as it seemed. The boy stood up and showered, just letting the water pass through the spaces of his bandages. It was his usual routine, to start every day as normally as possible. The memories of his tragedy were every so clear in his mind, but for Zed, his greatest fear was the thought that his past might catch up to him...

Putting on some ragged clothes which partially covered his bandages, Zed went out of his dilapidated shack. He walked over to his broom and a waste bin, ready to clean the streets once more. As a street cleaner, it can be said that Zed abhors the new technology, calling it dangerous... which means, he preferred the traditional methods. Zed happily jogged to his area, just near the main city... His usual spot was beside a coffee shop. This was because some irresponsible consumers would just dump their cups down the streets when they took out their coffee.

Zed has experienced so much stress, he intended to keep everything under control by forcefully suppressing his emotions, although, his rope was beginning to get thinner. As the times went by, the dirt came as well. Diligently cleaning, Zed caught one trash after the other, skillfully dumping them into the bin. Suddenly, some arrogant bums came to his location, dumping all their cigar butts and other useless trash on the floor, not minding the cleaner angrily looking at them. Zed confronted those punks as his short stature made it hard for him to mean business.

"I'm sorry to interrupt your merry walking but would it kill you to just... throw your cra--- I mean trash, properly?" Zed spoke calmly as he looked at the man straight in the eye. Instead of being nice and just to pick up his trash, the bum sent a forceful blow to Zed's torso, knocking the cleaner back a few inches. It was a clear message: Screw you.

The bums left laughing... clearly amused by the futile effort. Zed on the other hand remained on the ground. He was trembling.

"Not now... not now please." Zed murmured to himself, his arms throbbing with anticipation for blood. "Let go... they deserve to be killed... they deserve it..."

"NO!" Zed roared as his pulsations stopped. The people were looking at him, thinking he had lost his bolts. Zed looked at his arms which were excited to spill some blood. "No... I will not do it again." Zed chanted to himself as he calmed down and forcefully cleaned the trash that those rats had left behind.
"I'm trying to control it... but with each passing day, it breaks through my insanity... It knows I'm growing weaker."

Name: Zed Brand

Alias: Predator

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Powers/Abilities: Insanity's Evolution(This will be a long one :D)

Personality: Zed is a cheerful albeit loner individual. He can seemingly talk to others but he avoids making friends and more. In addition, Zed is also quite unstable, making him do random jibbers and mannerisms which others might consider weird. As a street cleaner, Zed is particular about neatness and has the tendency to condemn people who dirty the environment. As a poor individual, Zed is very thrifty when it comes to earning money and buying stuff, only buying what is needed. While Zed is quite brave, he is often passive in order to protect everyone from the beast that lies within.

Backstory: It is said that only a few can work in a toxic factory which works with animal DNA, and furthermore, it is said that only a handful of those few can work inside the toxic room itself. In that toxic room, disposed and decayed DNA of various animals are treated in large collections of waste tanks which are cleansed and turned into oil for general development. The toxic room itself is quite poisonous with its acidic air and humidity, but with enduring individuals, it can be weathered for a high pay. One of these individuals was Zed. Zed was an orphan who fought his way to working for cash. Starting as a street cleaner, Zed worked his way up until he was able to find a high paying job there at the factory. By nature, Zed is an extremely hardworking person, and never relented taking pride in his job as a Toxic Manager inside the area. Due to this, his superiors frequently praised his work which earned him the envy of his peers.

It is said that envy is a monster that consumes people. The cup had overflowed. Zed's peers got enough of his existence and pushed him into a vat of toxic waste after a series of good punches. The workers jeered happily as they went off to their merry lives. They thought it was the fool's end, however, life likes to prove people wrong.

After a few moments, a figure rose from the vat, covered in green ooze. It was Zed. Zed was alarmed as he hurried back to his shack and examined himself. When he sighed in relief as he found no change, he began to feel weird... Long story short, the fool found relief in covering his skin... It seems that the mixed DNA reacts to direct exposure to sunlight or any external matter and can only be suppressed by the aid of bandages or gauze. Zed was fired from his company as he was deemed 'incapable' and no one believed his story... Knowing that his mutation was something that the world would shun, he opted for a life of secrecy... choosing to work as a lowly cleaner of the streets. Secretly wishing that with every swipe of his worn-out broom, he would be able to clean the filth that snares his humanity.

Alignment Status: Neutral but has a greater tendency to align for Good.

Waffle, Tomato, Toaster or Oven? Yes Please.
