Personality: As a result of his upbringing, he is distrustful of others upon first meeting and is a bit anti social at times. He is largely independent, only going to medics when absolutely necessary. He holds a cynical view of the world and it's people, believing that people are only in it either for their own profit or the suffering of others. However, past the cynicism and the ingrained distrust is loyalty. He will not abandon those he trusts and is a strong proponent of revenge against wronged ones he cares for. He is an avid tea drinker and carries a flask of tea on him at all times.

History:

Born an orphan, Kentachi was left on the streets as a baby where he was taken in to the nearby orphanage. His earliest memories are of rain on his forehead and of beatings.

As a child, he was beaten quite often, whether by adults or by other children, it didn't matter. From adults, he was the receptacle for their frustrations, whether it be the latest gambling losses, or their disappointment in him, or any other excuse they could find to beat him. From the children, it was their sadness and disappointment at not being adopted, at their own mistreatment. Kentachi suffered it all, and worse yet, because he had been born to outsiders, he suffered the worst of their wrath. Frequently he was treated for burns, stab wounds, broken bones, black eyes, bruises, slashes, and whatever other injury they could inflict on him.

By the time he was seven, his cynicism had set in, and the anger, the pent up rage had begun to show. He began to defend himself, to fight back-albeit futilely-to show them he wasn't going to take this lying down. When he was eight, however, he came across his first shinobi, who happened to be an ANBU black ops agent. The ANBU was in the village to search for a criminal, who had come to hide from authorities to the worst part of town-HIS part of town. Kentachi was walking back to the orphanage from an errand he was sent on when the chase between the ANBU and the criminal became a standoff, one with the boy as a hostage. Kentachi , however, had no intention of being used by another, AGAIN, and so he bit his captor in the arm and elbowed him in the gut. Drawing a kunai on the enemy he was shoved aside by the ANBU and he watched with amazement as the criminal was cut to ribbons. The ANBU, impressed by the fighting spirit of the boy, adopted him and enrolled him in the academy, believing the boy to be a potential asset to Amegakure. Eventually the ANBU, whose name was Shinji, came to view the kid as his son. For Tachi's ninth birthday, he was presented a ninjatō, the very same one used to slice that criminal to ribbons a year earlier.

Now properly cared for by at least one person, Tachi excelled in taijutsu and sword work. When it came to ninjutsu, Kentachi had to work harder but found that water style came the easiest to him.
