I get it applying within the cluster and pulling in someone from a similar, nearby universe, but if I'm bringing in someone who's already established, that would be equivalent to Existence-wide fate, which isn't something I'm as keen on doing.
I should point out that I never disregarded the option of putting in someone new, but Existence wide fate is essentially at play with Zachary regardless. His Verse is, as I've said, basically another Existence but using different terms as I mentioned when I first posted the character.
It's also why I posted the CYOA author's cosmological lore, since it can essentially fit the MR model, with differences being chalked up to other Existences/Verses having different structures and referential terminology from their inhabitants. The Outside, however, remains the same. And he has a duty assigned to him, as a result of his transcendence, to go back there at some point. Hopefully after his experiences here have taught him how to be a worthy king, though he can't do that if he is allowed to just run from what he is, which is where the fate aspect comes in.
Like I said though, I understand, and am completely fine on going with an entirely new character meeting him, so long as it results in him being forced to confront his destiny and eventually learning to accept it in the long run. But uh, he needs some reason to leave that universe he's hiding out in currently for that series of events to happen, as he definitely won't do it himself. Obviously I prefer a more subtle approach, not just a, "Hey let's go dimension hopping even though we just met," one.
A slow burn start if you will.
