My alternate account. I.E. I am ZAVAZggg and ZAVAZggg is me. Not to sock-puppet or some shit, just so I can actually have interaction between two characters in a way that fits Myriad Reality's posting style.

So some mages channel other objects, which also works.
*Picks up a rock, above which several dark magic circles spiral*
At least until that object runs out of mana. No idea why it still works in other worlds though.
*The circles start convulsing back and forth, and the rock explodes with unstable magic*
What you described almost sounds like channeling through reality.

*Halts midstride*

Hmm. Perhaps it's best if I give a demonstration.

*Places a hand over my chest as my body falls away to reveal a brilliant golden light, from the center of which flows endless streams of arcane words, esoteric variables, and pure primordial intent, all of which reach out to affect the surrounding landscape in some random way*

AS YOU CAN SEE...

*A blade of grass sitting nearby shifts into a rabbit before morphing into a crab, and then returning to its original form*

IT IS NOT EXACTLY CHANNELING THROUGH REALITY, AS I AND MY KIND EXISTED LONG BEFORE IT, MORESO REALITY BENDING ITSELF TO ACCOMODATE OUR DESIRE.
<Snipped quote by Caldizar>

*Looks up while walking, digesting the explanation*
That almost sounds like channeling reality itself to cast spells. Is that something you can do?

*Chuckles*

Not exactly. What I can do is more akin to channeling one's own will to change reality. Putting it simply anyway.
<Snipped quote by Caldizar>

What did that do, anyway? I don't understand all the "deep magic" jargon.

Oh, that was actually quite simple. You see, naming magic operates on the idea that everything from living beings to inanimate objects possess a true name, one which will allow whoever learns it a certain amount of power over said thing. An example of this would be using the true name of the sea to control its currents.

*Pauses briefly to let that information sink in*

As far as the symbol itself goes, its function is quite simple. Even simpler than the spell your friend cooked up actually, as the symbol is effectively treated as a contract of sorts between the fabric of reality and the caster. Thus, whenever a caster envisions the symbol in their mind with the intent or desire to travel somewhere, it will "talk" to reality, which will then execute a transport in turn.

*Shrugs*

That's the basic idea anyway. Although do keep in mind the dangers I brought up about using naming magic to sidestep the cost earlier, as whoever learns the symbol's Protonymic will have complete control over its functioning's.
<Snipped quote by Caldizar>

Do you have any objectives in mind?

*I stay silent for a while before replying*

Just exploring I suppose. And maybe getting that symbol I showed Lily earlier up and working.
<Snipped quote by Caldizar>

I'm going to remember that one next time we get lost. It feels a lot better than "I have no idea where we're going."

*Nods*

Indeed.
<Snipped quote by Caldizar>

A god that doesn't know where he's going.

*Smirks*

The lack of a destination does not imply an overabundance of helplessness, nor ineptitude. I merely have the freedom of choice in regards to where I end up.
<Snipped quote by Caldizar>

Did you have some sort of plan for if you got stuck somewhere without any resources?

You do realize that it is almost impossible for me to become stuck anywhere yes? The power of a god isn't exactly something you should underestimate.
<Snipped quote by Caldizar>

Did you bring any kind of supplies with you?

Of course not.
<Snipped quote by Caldizar>

Where were you hoping to get to?

*Sighs*

Anywhere but there, honestly. Like I said back at the tavern, I didn't have a destination in mind when I left. I just did and hoped for the best.
<Snipped quote by Caldizar>

I get that it's one way, but if you were there before, there's got to be some way to get back, right?

Not any natural way that I know of.

*Glances off to the side*

Besides, even if I did find a way, I wouldn't go back. There's not much back there worth returning for honestly.
