I have an RP idea in mind where you play either a militarized task force designed to eliminate paranormal activity, or something akin to the Umbrella Secret Service.

I am trying to worldbuild god civs akin to the Time Lords or Xeelee, but so far I've yet to get anything concrete down. It is a tad frustrating, but I'll come up with something eventually. I hope.

@Obscene: And that is true. I might try that with a character I'm making for a fic actually. Though they'll be no-nonsense in a largely jovial kind of way.

Yeah. Static was just what popped into my head as the closest descriptor since those are less focused on the character's arc or internal struggle. Not the best wording to use admittedly.

I just want more protagonists with that same resolve, or barring that ones who aren't confused young adults looking to find their place in life analogues.

>Ah, okay. Also, before I get to posting, how would you like this fight to end? I like to have end points in mind for scenes like this just so everyone is aware of the point at which the rest of the plot should continue.
>@souleaterfan320 Did the blade break or the crystal? Because, while there is no actually info on whether or not Angel or Archangel Blades can be broken in canon, I'm willing to bet they can't outside of some serious applied power since they've been around since the universe began or even before that. I just want to be sure before I make my post.

*glares at you with a disappoitned look on my face*

All you've done so far is piss me off. And to think you call yourself the devil.

*dashes towards you, this time lashign out with a series of diagonal slashes*

Hey, blame the humans for that title! It's not my fault they're so inferior that they need to blame someone else for all their problems!

*Parries and deflects each blow as I close the distance, grabbing your sword arm before attempting to plunge my blade into your chest*
<Snipped quote by Zyx>

*turns to move to your right, allowing your weapon to nick my side and tear through my shirt and jacket*

That was fine Qiviut you just ruined!

*slants my sword down across your arm, attempting to take a chunk with it*

*Leaping back with a hiss, my arm already beginning to heal, I examine the tear in my suit*

Well now we're even.

*Shakes my arm, mending the fabric in the blink of an eye as my vessel's flesh finishes knitting itself back together, before sauntering back to you with my blade held at the ready*
<Snipped quote by Zyx>

*skids to a stop*

I have many eons of combat under my belt. Not al lof them involved abilities.

*dashes toward you, thrusting my sword several times at you much like a rapier*

*Dodges and weaves, before moving in close to counter with a thrust to your torso*

I thank you for divulging even more information in the middle of battle. Real smart move there buddy.
>So far Ready or Not has proven to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience, though I do wish the majority of maps weren't so dark. Like dear god, do they expect me to use NVGs or flashlights for every mission?

>Also yes I'll look into turning up my screen's gamma/brightness, don't get in a tizzy.
<Snipped quote by Zyx>

*with my foot on the ground, I push myself away from your throatslash, getting nicked in the process. I narrowly catch your fist and yanks you to my left side, using the blade in my right hand to stab at your side*

*Parries your attack before using your grip against you to pull you close and kick you away, sending you rocketing across the battlefield*

Not bad.
Maxwell hadn't lagged too far behind, though he'd not managed to catch up with Adeira fast enough to witness what it was she had seen. He had heard the voices however, and dropped into a crouch as he came upon the place in which his companion had been standing. Scanning the surrounding trees carefully, he cursed as the ground beneath his feet shifted and sloughed, dragging him out to stand face to face with what was perhaps his second worst nightmare...

A Lucid. One who wasn't alone at that from the looks of things, as a small group of people armed with a variety of weapons revealed themselves soon after, all of them staring down at him with what Maxwell could only describe as malicious intent.
No matter how many times they did this, Maxwell just couldn't help but be creeped out by the wasteland. It just felt wrong somehow, as though all life had been leeched from the area, which--in a way--he supposed it had. Clutching his knife tightly, he kept his head on a swivel as they made their way through the darkened woods.
He sighed. It was true, they didn't have enough supplies to survive the winter, though he was loathe to explore the world beyond the camp's borders. Strong he might have been when it came to doing... whatever it was people like him and Adeira could do, that didn't mean he enjoyed navigating the sloshing hellscape that lay beyond, nor avoiding the horrors that stalked its depths. Still, they did need to eat and keep warm. And they couldn't do that with nothing. At least, he didn't think they could anyway. Then again with how crazy the world had become, who was he to say what was impossible or not?

"I'll get some gear together," he said at last, the light from the fire reflecting in his eyes. "I should be ready to go in about an hour or so."

With that he made his way out the door and back to his lodging to start packing all the things they'd need for the trip. Mainly weapons, for what little good they still did, a first-aid kit, extra clothes, camping gear, and what little food and water remained.
