I have an RP idea in mind where you play either a militarized task force designed to eliminate paranormal activity, or something akin to the Umbrella Secret Service.

I am trying to worldbuild god civs akin to the Time Lords or Xeelee, but so far I've yet to get anything concrete down. It is a tad frustrating, but I'll come up with something eventually. I hope.

@Obscene: And that is true. I might try that with a character I'm making for a fic actually. Though they'll be no-nonsense in a largely jovial kind of way.

Yeah. Static was just what popped into my head as the closest descriptor since those are less focused on the character's arc or internal struggle. Not the best wording to use admittedly.

I just want more protagonists with that same resolve, or barring that ones who aren't confused young adults looking to find their place in life analogues.

Several thoughts flashed through Maxwell's mind. It was people like this that made him regret going outside, both now and in the Old World. Still, he'd been through hell in these last few months, and would not be intimidated so easily. Besides, he knew something about the woods that these thugs clearly didn't. Namely that it was absolutely crawling with nightmares, the slightest provocation of which would see the entire forest come alive with hostile life.

"You'd best lower that gun," he said, his voice a calm whisper. "If you don't want this place to eat you alive. Or didn't you think to question why I wasn't carrying any firearms on me?"

He shifted his gaze to and from each of them in turn as he formulated a plan in his mind. If he could just keep them talking long enough for Adeira to get the drop on 'em, then perhaps they could end the whole situation without further conflict. Not that he wouldn't fight if forced to mind, it was simply that he couldn't reliably use his power. Not like most other Lucids, at least not at the moment anyway, since they were still unrefined. Lacking control, utterly attached to his emotional state, and unpredictable to the nth degree. As such, he hoped to end this as quickly as possible, preferably without having to fall back on his abilities.

"As for my story, what's there to say? Your friend there has the right of it. I'm just a scrounger trying to survive like everyone else."
>Now that Lucifer is going to be busy off-screen for a while, I feel tempted to try and bring in another bad guy. Melkor is a strong contender, but I don't feel comfortable trying to write Tolkien's characters. The way they talk and the like are a bit beyond me prose wise.

>On the other hand I have an idea thanks to a CYOA that might serve the same spiritual corruption angle I'd like to explore. Hmm. Decisions, decisions...
>Oh and I know that my pfp is what Lucifer looks like while he's in the Empty, the place all types of angel and demon go upon death, but it's about as close to his canonical "true form" as I can get.
<Snipped quote by Zyx>

*my ghostly apparition appears looking down at the vessel*

.... poor thing.

*picks him up using my energy, and teleports us both to a location where I can hela his body*

*The body's wounds do eventually heal, but the mind itself remains unresponsive. It appears that the one time in which the devil didn't lie was about his vessel's consciousness. It truly is gone*
<Snipped quote by Zyx>

His vessels are weaker, and are usually just matter compliled into a mortal form.

>Well in that case the blade would have an effect, perhaps not the burning out portion, but it would still kill the vessel. As for the original entity itself, he does need to be significantly weaker for it to do any semblance of damage.
<Snipped quote by Zyx>

The latter is what I had understood it.

>Alright, well in that case if he is on the same level as God/The Darkness, then the Archangel Blade technically shouldn't be able to do anything, unless his vessels are weaker somehow.
<Snipped quote by Zyx>

Well, lucian is the god of his home dimension, where as the christian god would have one, and another where the buddhist version of god exists, so on and so forth.

>So they each rule an individual dimension within a shared cosmology? Or do you mean they each rule separate universes within wider Existence?
<Snipped quote by Zyx>

*you find that they seem directly anchored to your being, increasing in strength with each agitation*

*a voice comes from within you, from the wound*
Lucian:
You were dead the moment my sword pierced your skin. May you burn in your 'hell' eternally.

Oh, so we're talking telepathically now are we? How quaint.

*I sigh and stare at the tendrils*

Hate to break it to you though, but I don't burn in Hell. I do get locked in a little cage though, which is oh so annoying.

*I turn my gaze skyward*

Not like this means anything though. Like I said, I'll just find a new vessel to inhabit.

*My mouth opens and a torrent of smoke-like energy rockets out, spiraling in the air for a moment before snaking off through a dimensional rift to parts unknown. As for my vessel, it falls to lie lifeless and insensate on the cracked and barren ground. Whatever remains of Sam Winchester will be of little help in the battles to come, if anything even does*

<Snipped quote by Zyx>

Presumably. Once you go past that level you have the Tier Five as the next big group of people.

>So creating entire multiverses wholesale as opposed to universe by universe/world by world type deal?
<Snipped quote by Zyx>

*they continue to wrap around you like vines, dealing consistently holy energy of a kind to you, burning away at your grace*

Oh now that's just annoying.

*I warp reality to remove the tendrils*
