I have an RP idea in mind where you play either a militarized task force designed to eliminate paranormal activity, or something akin to the Umbrella Secret Service.

I am trying to worldbuild god civs akin to the Time Lords or Xeelee, but so far I've yet to get anything concrete down. It is a tad frustrating, but I'll come up with something eventually. I hope.

@Obscene: And that is true. I might try that with a character I'm making for a fic actually. Though they'll be no-nonsense in a largely jovial kind of way.

Yeah. Static was just what popped into my head as the closest descriptor since those are less focused on the character's arc or internal struggle. Not the best wording to use admittedly.

I just want more protagonists with that same resolve, or barring that ones who aren't confused young adults looking to find their place in life analogues.

Also, I never understood why people thing the character limit is an issue. Long posts can be split up into multiple messages, just use a new message like paragraph break (WHICH YOU SHOULD BE DOING ANYWAY IN A LONG POST)

>Some people like writing in a novel format rather than a chat based one. I've done this before though, breaking up messages, and it's still ass when compared to writing in a multi-paragraph format. Also, post lengths would be a non-issue here if people would stop setting arbitrary length requirements 24/7.
>I can't eat chocolate as it hurts my molars. And no it's not because I have a cavity!

>It's because my teeth are sensitive.

>And my two of my four wisdom teeth are impacted.
>Having tried it I can confidently say that it isn't for me. The character cap is too low, when I really get into the flow my writing can trend quite purple, and posts often go by way too fast even with a posting order. Especially if you've got multiple people interacting in one scene. Plus with the way Discord functions, finding old posts (to refresh your memory of what's going on for example) on things like the mobile app is just a pain.
I have created this Channel to bring all lovers of RP and creative writing into a place where others can play out their dream characters in worlds of their choosing.

>Okay, but why? You know this site is made specifically for roleplaying right? It's kind of in the name.
>Welcome.

No matter how you slice it, typing in a prompt so something else can make the art for you is just not doing art. You can make the argument that doing things on tablets makes it easier, but it's still doing art. Any prompt to content generation is just writing a prompt. You have made nothing.

As for the copy/pasting writing, sure, I agree.

>True, true. And don't get me wrong, by laxer I don't necessarily mean all for it. If given a choice between prompt or commissioning an actual artist, I'm going with the artist every single time. The quality is better, it's less random and more personalized, and you know actual work goes into it as opposed to a prompt. I just don't feel the same strong amount of hate for it as most. As for the writing part, my main issue isn't even with the tool. ChatGPT is what it is, which is to say garbage my sleep deprived ass could outdo with a few hundred words, it's more so the laziness the person using it shows that bothers me.

>Though having said that, I'm starting to see where artists are coming from. Even if I don't agree that AI will replace such a vital part of human culture entirely like so many seem to believe.

Oh if it's AI art I'm against that on principal, but if people want to put in a prompt in a word generator to set up a scene, and as long as they don't copy/paste, then I don't see the major problem in that.

>I'll admit that I have a laxer view when it comes to AI "art" than AI generated text. The art is whatever (genuinely shit in most cases if we're being completely honest and not buying into all the internet fearmongering or overhyping), and even if I were an artist or animator I don't think I'd care, since it could help streamline certain things as that one Corridor Digital video showed. Not to mention has a long way to go to match a human. When it comes to writing though, it's even lazier than copying and pasting in my opinion. Like you can't even be bothered to work your gray matter long enough to visualize a scene, let alone write it out in a post? Or for a more specific example, using something like ChatGPT to generate whole CYOA's or Jumpchain documents instead of designing either one personally, which results in the most generic and nonsensical content I've had the misfortune of reading.

>I get how an artist might call the art aspect of AI generation lazy, but hey so is doing shit on a tablet or in a program like Blender compared to what the greats of history did. They went out and painted or carved, meanwhile all we do is click. Same could apply to writing actually come to think of it.

>Getting right down to it, we're all lazy hacks.
@Zyx

Now you're speaking my language! That's definitely something we'd need server access to do right. Theoretically there are exotic solutions we could design, but I don't think I want to design those =P

>That is the one thing you'd want to avoid in every case. Exotic solution = not worth the hair pulling and fifteen cups of coffee. Granted, I'm not sure if Cloudflare has some kind of solution or 2FA the site could use, though again any implementation of that would need to be hooked into the server itself, which just brings us back to square one.
If you're using an AI to write an RP scene, then you shouldn't be RPing. RPing is a hobby. If you're not enjoying it enough to do it yourself, then stop doing it.

>This has more to do with using it to generate images in order to help set a scene, not using something like ChatGPT to write a post for you.

>Otherwise I agree. If you can't even be assed to write your own shit, fuck off.
>I'm assuming this would be difficult considering you can't actually access the server itself, but I don't suppose 2FA could be setup to use things like Authy or other authenticators for example?
