Always a catch.
I just really like the little things, the subtle touches in these sort of works. I know how we all love a good epic story but there is some enjoyment in the smaller things. Take WETA workshop for the LoTRs. I could just gush over the detail their armour designs if you give me a chance to.
> Not that curious. You get Dark Elves being called thus, and Dunmer by NPC's. Same with Altmer or Bosmer, sometimes. It's not odd at all that the term Snow Elf was used. It's the context which Dreet-Na used that I found to be curious, not the term itself.
> I thought 'Snow elf' was just the translation that anyone could work out, simply by looking at the other Mer translations. > Also, I'll be getting a post up soon guys. Niko can give Faire a gentle interegation, Roze can size up our new Nord friend, and Leo can complain about something. Or y'know, flirt with the new girls. XD You're not wrong. It's more of the context which what I referring to. As you know the word Falmer which is well, the Elven translation of "Snow Elf" like how Bosmer is "Wood elf" and so on. However it is the way that Dreet-Na uses the term that aroused my curiosity; he used it to discriminate Faire from the pale Smeagol things. In Skyrim, the only NPC who insisted that Falmer and Snow Elf are different things was Gelebor himself and it's only because the term "Falmer" carries negative connotations. OTHERUSELESSTRIVIA!: Falrielle was more or less a response I had when reading a bad fic with a Snow Elf. Fun stuff. EDIT: Oh this > > I'm curious as to how Dreet-Na would know of the term "Snow Elf". Damn I miss my Argonian character. > > Yea, I believe Falmer is the academic name and probably the only name existing for her race right now. Snow Elf was most likely the invention of the surviving population.
I'm curious as to how Dreet-Na would know of the term "Snow Elf". Damn I miss my Argonian character.
Wrote the skeleton of sorts of my post and now to write the meat.
> I wasn't given too much info on height when I did my research. If we assume that the two from Dawnguard are taller than Nords, then perhaps Faire could measure just about the same height as a Nord. Nords are the tallest playable race if I'm not mistaken and this being a nation of Nords, it would be easier for Faire's height to blend in. The Altmer are the tallest race then followed by the Orsimer and then Redguard(Male)/Nord(Female) http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Races#Summary And in technical terms, the Snow Elf of Skyrim (2011) are High Elves. @Leos: Wait... Didn't Valerion's armour have a weakspot in his abdomen?
> As are we all Delta, Pirouette likely has a sufficient excuse for the delay. > Our lives take priority after all. I've pretty much written myself in a corner so getting the usual jitters.
Still waitin'
Waitin' for morning.!
