Tim was suddenly struck with the fact that he didn't know what to write back. How does someone answer such a heartfelt statement like that? He stared at the screen of his phone, his eyes scrunched in concentration, biting his lower lip as he tried desperately to find the right words to write and send to her. He sat like this for five minutes straight.
He drew a blank.
And so, his brain going on auto pilot, he did the only thing he could think of doing: he sent her an emoji of a thumbs up. He barely processed what he did until he hit the send button. And then he just look out into space for a moment, staring into an imaginary camera, shaking his head a little as he threw his arms out to his sides in an exaggerated shrug.
"That was... dumb." He stated, matter-of-factly to himself, tossing his phone onto the coffee table.
