Tim was suddenly struck with the fact that he didn't know what to write back. How does someone answer such a heartfelt statement like that? He stared at the screen of his phone, his eyes scrunched in concentration, biting his lower lip as he tried desperately to find the right words to write and send to her. He sat like this for five minutes straight. He drew a blank. And so, his brain going on auto pilot, he did the only thing he could think of doing: he sent her an emoji of a thumbs up. He barely processed what he did until he hit the send button. And then he just look out into space for a moment, staring into an imaginary camera, shaking his head a little as he threw his arms out to his sides in an exaggerated shrug. "That was... dumb." He stated, matter-of-factly to himself, tossing his phone onto the coffee table.
Daniel cracked a smile when she said that, causing him to relax a little bit more. He made a wide, sweeping motion with his hand, showing her the whole room as he spoke now. "These people are the epitome of amazing conversation though." he said, running a hand through his hair now. "How could you not love them? And the Orderlies? Come on, they should be making you feel like you're right at home, right? Like mommy and daddy are right here. Like they never abandoned us and left us alone to rot in a shitty asylum!" He chuckled at his own joke, turning to face Yolanda now, trying not to notice that one of the creatures was slowly making it's way towards both of them. "They really do care!"

Tim quickly picked up his phone, reading her message over once. He, too, made a show of rolling his eyes and shaking his head a little. He realized that she didnt want him to be alone, and, to an extent, he understood that. That is why he would go to her place tomorrow. However, at the same time, there was a part of him that wondered if he shouldn't have told her about his lonliness and his suicide and his mother. His thoughts slowly drifed as he responded to her message. Okay, fine! I'll come over, but only because youre so persuasive. By the time he hit send, his mind was already in other places. What if he hadn't gone to the coffee shop? What if he didnt live in this city? Would someone like Sophia be around to help him? Would something bad happen to him? Would he be dead? He tried not to think. He focused on his movie instead.

Tim texted back almost immediately after recieving the message. I will eat literally anything. But really, I will be just fine on my own, you dont need to go out of your way to make me comfortable or whatever. He was sitting in front of his movie shelf, looking for something he could play in the background while he messed around on the computer--something he hadn't done in quite some time. He was a hard worker, and play time wasn't a thing he scheduled for himself. But he was feeling different today, and what he wanted was to watch a movie and read some weird stuff on the internet. He eventually settled on The Parks Of Being a Wallflower, a movie that he felt he could identify with. He had watched it quite a few times, but it was still a movie that effected him deeply. He connected with each of the characters, and he had seen it more than enough times so that he could enjoy it while he did something else. He popped the disc into the DVD player, going back to the couch as it loaded up.

Tim checked his phone again, but didn't respond this time. He Closed his laptop, stretching a bit. He was actually completely caught up on his work by this point, and he didn't feel like working right now, if he was being honest with himself. He loved working, there was no doubt about that, but his usual want to work all throughout the day and night was gone. He wanted to do...something else. He stood up, walking into the kitchen. He grabbed one of the orange bottles, downed two pills. Second nature to him, now. He contemplated wat he would do. He ended up pulling out his phone and texting Sophia back. Hey. I'm totally finished with work now. Super bored. :P
"Peachy." He said, is eyes locked onto the corner of the room. One of them was over there, crawling along the wall. It moved past patients and orderlies, who were all completely oblivious to its presence. But Daniel knew it was there. He could see them. He could see what they could do. He didn't know why, but that's just the way it was. He watched it move past one of the patients, stop, and move back. It stood behind the patient, a woman with frizzy black hair and a distant look in her eye, towering over her. A mouse to an elephant. It leaned in close to her, then... smelled her. Or at least, that's what it looked like. Like it was trying to see if it liked her or not. If she would be good to feast on or whatever the fuck it was that these things did. Daniel gave a slight reaction, still trying to keep up his act. He sighed a bit, leaning back and staring up into the blinding fluorescent lights of the Recreational Room. He didnt want anyone to think anything was off about him. Besides, he didnt want to see what the creatures were doing to that woman anyway. "Enjoying your first day?" He asked, sarcastically.

Tim had been writing his code for nearly three hours, nonstop, before his phone buzzed next to his computer on the coffee table, making him jump a bit, scaring him back into reality. He picked it up, looking at the name on the screen. It was Sophia. He smiled a little to himself, then swiped it to the right to read her message. He replied within the next few seconds. Hello! I've been working. A lot. Got lots of stuff done. :) I'm probably gonna just work until I pass out, so no dinner for me. He hit send, tossing his phone down onto the coffee table again. He cracked his fingers, setting instantly back to work on the code he was writing. He was in a sort of robotic mode right now, trying to catch up with all of his missed time. If he made a dent in the code, worked and got a lot of it done, the higher-ups probably wouldnt mind the time that he was gone for.

"Oh, um, okay! Yeah!" Ti said to the back of her head as she descended the stairs that lead up to his door. "I will see you! Soon!" Sophia turned around, smiling at Tim one more time before she exited out of the door at the bottom of the stairwell. Tim stood in his doorway for a moment, taking everything in before he turned around and closed the door behind him. Silence settled over his apartment, enveloping it nearly completely, only being broken by the slight ticking of the clock on his wall. Tim let out a sigh as he walked over to his couch, flipping open his laptop as he settled down in front of the coffee table. His computer began to boot up slowly, and as it did, Tim pulled his jacket off, draping it over the back of the couch. He then felt his pockets, going for his phone. However, he first found the pocket knife that Sophia had given back to him. He barely remembered her borrowing it at all. He turned it over in his hands, observing it like he had done a million times before. It was small, the base of it carved out of wood. An etching of a raccoon's face was instilled in it. He flipped open the knife, a sharp blade, larger than your everyday pocket blade. He watched it reflect the light of the sun. He thought of how sharp it had been before. Shaking the thoughts out of his head, Tim quickly flipped the knife closed, opening the drawer of the coffee table and blindly throwing it in before shutting it hard. He reached for his laptop and started ticking away, focusing hard on not focusing on anything at all.

Tim had forgotten about her other clothes, which were still at his place. He didn't mind it, though. And he didn't mind that she still had his clothes, either. He liked the way it looked on her, even though it was two sizes bigger than her. He shrugged a bit, then made a dismissive gesture with his hand, "Oh, um... you can keep that sweater, if you want. You look good in it, and I don't wear it enough, so, uh, yeah. You can just take it." His face was a little red, his smile still that weird, awkward Tim-like smile. He was just trying his hardest to be a good friend, and he thought that maybe this would be a good thing a friend would do.

Tim looked back up, a small, half smile on his face. He really liked that she wanted to hang out with him too, but he wasn't too sure about the idea she had. He felt like he would get distracted by her really easily if she hung around while he tried to work. He would spend a lot of time looking at her face, probably. He noticed himself just looking at her while she wasn't paying attention a lot, actually. He just liked the way she looked, it made him feel calm. "Ah, I dunno about that. I-I mean, believe me, I would love to do that, I really would, but it would just be so distracting. But, but thanks for the idea, I'm glad it's a possibility. Maybe, like, when I'm not so behind on work, we can do that?" He said, biting his lip a little. He hated rejecting the idea like this, because he really wanted her to be there, but he just didn't think it would be very helpful. "I just have so much to do, I'm sorry." He looked down a bit, feeling... some type of indescribable way. Sort of bad, sort of sad, sort of happy, a lot of things. He wanted to tell her how he felt, but he didnt know what he felt. He wanted to hide everything away, but then things would start to get bad again, like they always do. He was confused, and so he just spoke what he felt. "I really do love hanging out with you, though. You're just...really nice, and understanding and... um, I'm really glad you talked to me the other day. It's great to have an actual friend. I want to hang out with you again as soon as we possibly can."
