Tim felt the weight of Sophia's head resting on his shoulder. He froze up for a second, stopped breathing. He couldn't focus on the screen anymore. All he could focus on was the weight of her head resting on him. The warmth of her body so close to his. The softness of her skin, the way her hair fell down over her face ever so slightly, the color of her eyes, the-- He snapped back to reality for a moment. He started breathing again. But he liked the way they were sitting. He liked feeling her so close. He liked knowing she was there. So he let her stay there. A part of him wanted to pull her closer, but he wasn't sure if he should.

Tim wasn't exactly sure what to think. He wasn't really a fan of samurai films, but he was certainly drawn to it. There were grand battles, beautiful landscapes, Tom Cruise with long, luxurious locks, everything a movie needed to be beautiful. He watched it, though he was still relaxed, back in his seat, through the excitement and the battles. "This is really good." he whispered, totally invested by this point, his eyes not moving from the screen.
Daniel sat down, breathing in, then out. In, then out. He was a little overwhelmed by everything. The creatures, the fact that she could see them, the shifting you need to calm down! No you need to calm down! feeling that kept shifting back and fourth throughout their conversations. But, he was calming down, focusing on a point in the past. A very particular time. Back. Back. Back. The day he first started seeing them. "It was about six months ago." he said, focusing hard on it, still calming himself down a bit. "Um... I was, uh... I was working in a grocery store. A corner store. In New York. I was living there because I didnt want to live with my family and I wanted to live by myself. So... I was stocking the shelves, okay? And I had to climb up on this ladder to stock the top of one of the shelves. I was really reaching for it. I was on the top step, on my tiptoes. And then, like, just as I'm about to put whatever the hell it was up on the shelf, these fucking kids come running around the corner and they smash into the ladder. And it wobbles, and it falls, and I fall. Right on my head." Daniel took that as a cue to lift up his hair on the side of his head, revealing a vicious looking scar near his temple. "And I was rushed to the hospital, right? And I was passed the fuck out, and I was getting stitched up, and... and I remember, waking up, during the operation--or, the stitching or whatever. And I looked up and I just... there was one of them. Just standing across the room. Watching me. And I passed out again. But I remember it so vividly happening." He took a moment, pausing, shaking his head a bit. "And so... yeah. Since then, I've been seeing them. I tried to get people to listen for three months, nobody would, and when my warnings became too much of a burden, they sent me here. And I've been seeing them here for the past three months, too." He shrugged a bit, his story finished. The same questions he always had still lingered in the air. Where did they come from? What were they? What did they want? He asked himself constantly, and he was never any closer to finding the answers he needed.

Tim had known the film, but never really had the drive to go see it. It was one of those movies where he had heard good things about it, but he never really had the drive to actually go out and figure out if it was any good or not. No better time to find out than with Sophia, though, right? He smiled a little. "Oh, um, just uh, water would be nice." He said, picking up his dirty glass, handing it off to her. "I dont think I can handle any more sweet things just yet. Too much food, y'know?"
Daniel held his hands out to his sides, shrugging as he shook his head. He was just as confused and freaked out as Yolanda was about the creatures. "Look, I dont have a fucking clue, okay? They just fucking appeared one day and everyone I told didn't know what I was talking about! I know about as much as you do by this point, which is nothing. I tried telling people about them. I tried warning people about them, and just look where that landed me." He was pacing around the room by this point, talking with his hands excessively. "And until now, I thought I was the only one that could see them, but clearly that isn't the case, because you saw them too. But they arent always around. Sometimes I go days without seeing them, and then out of nowhere--theyre here. They just-- I dont know! And when they're around, bad things happen. People die. Or faint. Or go into comas or something, it's really fucked. And I--we--cant do shit about it and it's fucked!"

Tim was always drawn into this movie. It was so strange, and it was heartbreaking, and it was beautiful, and there were just so many little things about it that he could go on about for hours. But he decided not to. He just watched the movie, remembering the scenes from the hundreds of other times he's seen the film. When the movie ended, he snapped out of the trance he was in when he heard Sophias voice. "Oh, um... I dont know, really." He said, looking around her apartment a bit, avoiding eye contact for some reason, even he didn't know why. Sometimes he just didnt want to look at people, be embarrassed, a bunch of things. His eyes settled on a picture frame on the far side of the room, sitting on a coffee table. It had Sophia and some older woman, probably her mother, looking happily into the camera. He smiled a little.

Tim was happy. This was one of his favorite movies ever. Jim Carry was, of course, amazing as a comedian. But Tim thought that his performance in this one was go incredibly genuine that he just fell in love with this version of him. He related to the character so much, and he was excited that Sophia wanted to watch it. He settled back in the couch, moving closer to Sophia, but not uncomfortably so. He liked being close to Sophia. He liked watching this movie. He liked being close to Sophia while watching this movie. The movie started. Joel's monologue at the beginning, of course, sucked Sophia right in, and Tim could tell. He really liked sharing this with her. He had never been ale to share his favorite anythings with anyone ever, and doing it now felt really nice. He loved that it was her. He honestly would never want it to be anyone else. He felt... something. It was great, an amazing feeling. It made his whole body feel warm and comforted. HE couldn't quite place what it was, though. HE decided to just focus on the movie instead, though he was smiling wide while they watched it, partially due to how much he loved the film. The other half was because of Sophia.

Tim thought for a moment. "Do you have any drama films?" He asked, scratching the side of his head. "I um... I really like dramatic movies." And it was true, he did. HE found that, quite often, he was able to connect with the characters in dramatic film much easier than he could connect with characters that were action heroes or slapstick comedians. It was probably due to his rough upbringing. Pain loves company, and that statement was no exception when it came to Tim. His hurting didnt seem so bad in the presence of someone elses, even if it was fictional. "Like... Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or something like that. Drama is just... yeah, but, um, it can also be like whatever you want to choose! I'm not trying to control the uh... the situation here!"

After a few moments, Tim sort of awkwardly pulled his hand away, not really knowing what to do with it. He stretched back, over the edge of the couch, his bones cracking and popping loudly, as they tend to do when he stretches like that. He sighed out, then shrugged a bit, crossing his arms. "I 'unno. I mean... you have a lot of gamey console things, we could mess with one of those. Or um... I dunno, watch a movie, talk. I'm cool with anything and I'm really bad at making decisions. So if you pick something then I'll be all for it."

Tim instantly felt horrible. He hadn't eant for his question to be a sad one. Then again, she probably hadn't meant for her question about the holidays to send him into the same place as he sent her, but he still felt awful. He wanted to do something, but he didnt know what to do. He wanted to hug her, comfort her the same way she comforted him. But he just couldn't force his body to make the movement. He couldn't find the strength to move. And god knows he wouldn't be able to find the words. But he had to try, dammit, he had to. And so, slowly, he reached his hand across the stretch of space between them, his heart pounding. He put his hand on her knee, gently, gently, gently. He then spoke softly, just letting words fall out of his mouth now. "It uh its going... It's gonna be okay and you're better... than, um... them." He stumbled on his words, but he looked at her like he meant them.
