Just as Anise finished her thought, she barely had time to wait for a response when she saw in the water a red glow. However, it was briefly as it went out before she could inspect it more closely. She reached out with the Spirit lantern probing for whomever or whatever was there. There was only one thing that she thought could make such an odd red light: another Lantern.

She decided to take the initiative. "Hello? I saw your light. My name is Anise. What is yours?" Her nerves spiked with anticipation as she prepared to duel in a battle of wills with the Spirit lantern.
I agree things are definitely interesting. Lets see how things progress. :D

Woooo! YAY! Pretty interesting how the pirate said that things are different now. I wonder how that's going to affect things.

I figure while Anise has a bit of time I want her to experiment with something with the egg. Here's for interesting results?

"As long as we're on the river we're safe. Everybody knows that. But once we cross the witch's barrier at the lake, she'll come running. We just gotta be quick. I'm the quickest, though."
Morly

Anise nodded as Morly explained how the river was safe, but the sound of witch was a bit unnerving. "That's good the river's safe. How long should it take for us to get there? How quick will the witch take to come?"

She felt a bit of a rush as soon as the boat started to pick up speed. There was no way that they were far from their destination. This left her feeling eager to return the Lady of the Pond to her home and get to her next objective: the remaining lanterns. She knew there was one at the pirate ship, and if she made it there safely then she could get right to work on returning the forest to its natural state.

"So yer lookin' for the pirate ship, huh?" Morly called over the sound of the rushing water. "There's lotsa neat things on the ship, I heard. Maybe even a dragon egg. How're you plannin' to get past the gryphons, then? They like to sit on the mast. Everybody knows that."
Morly

Anise opened mouth and then closed it to think a bit. So they were called gryphons? Like the fairy tale monsters? "Do you know any way to calm them and maybe keep them from hurting my and my friends?" She felt she could actually calm them down with the help of the Spirit Egg, but she wanted to have another option available just in case that wouldn't work. "I don't want to have to fight them if I can help it."

She the suddenly thought up an idea as the Lantern passed her thoughts. She concentrated on the egg within the lantern itself and tried to make contact with it. Hello, I'm Anise Sinclair, Princess of Riverforde. I want to help bring the forest back into its proper balance, and there are going to be gryphons in my near future. Can you help me? If the lantern held an egg within it that meant she was carrying a living thing, and this egg seemed to be beyond normal conventions. Thus she thought perhaps she could communicate with it on some level.
Room 16

Aedin stared at the ceiling, while the hardness of the bed wasn't something he was unfamiliar with; the fact that he had a roof over his head was. Where was he? He wasn't in chains, so none of the gangs that he had intruded on had caught him. The air was too cool to be San Fransisco. He spent a few minutes laying there staring at the bandages on his arm. When did this happen?

He sighed heavily. "Another day in paradise." He steadily stood up and looked around the room. While it was a slight improvement from his hiding place on the streets the litter on the floor was nothing new to his eyes. His attention quickly fell to the box being shone in the light. He looked inside and saw the cans and water and nodded. He was about to look away when he saw there was a cloth underneath and he picked up the cans and pulled the cloth out revealing the rusting box cutter underneath and a phone.

"What the heck is going on?" By now Aedin was really confused and disturbed by his situation. He then saw the phone light up and ping a message. Aedin picked it up and read it.

Hiya! How are ya? Ill be your guide! Nice to meetcha! I see youre new here so lets start with an ez mission! Hmm hmmm hmmmm... Found one. Borrow something from someone~ ヽ(≧ω≦)ノ make sure you ask~

Aedin blinked a few times. So, he wasn't alone here? Pretty quick to gather that. "What is this?" Slowly he started writing a message back. He was unused to cell phones except for the occasional theft and sale of the things. Although with GPS tracking lately, that became very risky to do. He never really used the things though, although he had spent plenty of time watching people use them.

Wher am I? Wht d u want wit me? R u with the King Street Wolves? I kno they do stuf lik this.

He awkwardly pressed the send button and frowned. He didn't care much for phones and didn't trust the things. He also felt that getting rid of this one would be costly. Aedin felt a bit hungry and thirsty, so he took a swig of water and tore open a can of Beef Stew and basically drank it down chomping down on bit and pieces of it as needed. He then waited and watched the phone for a response.
Merry Christmas to all! :D

Merry Christmas people!
Name: Aedin Demavend
Age: 19
Gender: Male

Appearance:

Personality: Aedin is a survivor used to the loner life. He works well with others, but only as a means to meet his personal goals. He's a fast thinker with a sarcastic attitude. He doesn't like overextending his physical limits. Morals never enter the picture for him, only his self-serving needs.

Backstory: Homelessness is all Aedin knows. He grew up being raised by a homeless father that looked to take care of his own needs first and then Aedin's second. From a young age, Aedin had to grow up fast to survive. He learned how to steal by using others as a distraction. Of course he had his mess ups and close calls, but he was lucky enough to never be caught by the police. He always dealt with the problems he could with sarcasm, and even with the problems he couldn't deal with he used it.

He eventually got out of the city he grew up in after he turned 16 and he did it to get away from his father. He wanted to set up his own stomping grounds elsewhere. He settled down in San Fransisco and quickly found a spot he could use as a base of operations. There were gangs here that he had to learn to respect, but if he could get away with it he rather enjoyed ripping them off. He ended up building a small crew himself, but he couldn't call any one of them a friend as they all were only using each other and he knew it.

Talents: Improvisation - A fast thinker has to think on his feet, and a little bit of imagination can (limitedly) go a long way.

Street Fighting - Who needs to fight fair where you have to fight to survive? On the street everything is a weapon even the dirt.

Petty Theft - Gotta knack for stealing things. Oh, this phone? I'm just borrowing it.

Other: Bringing up his father is a bad idea.
OH I'm definitely interested in this! Gonna edit this post in the future with my character.
