Experiencing that feeling when absolutely no game is satisfying to play and all you do is watch videos on youtube and streams on twitch -.- I feel so unproductive.

Vincent slipped in after a few people entered the dark room. He kept the door open a crack and stayed near it to glance outside on occasion. He was quite curious to see what the Grit would do. As scary as a force as they were, he was interested in why they hadn't attacked until now. Perhaps they knew this incident was going to happen. What if this was a plot to destroy the city. He was all for hitting the reset button, but he wanted to know about the aftermath.

Secretly, he hoped that they didn't do anything with the soulstones, so he could gather as many as he could. He was already establishing a list of objectives: gather soulstones, invade Father's library and study Rune Magic, experiment. No one here entered the teen's plans, but he did prefer if they survived.

He exhaled as he suddenly realized that he nearly died today, and with the Grit roaming the streets his survival over the next few days would be questionable. He had to take advantage of the people here in order to make it through to the next day. He closed the door and slid down the wall into a seated position. He could barely see in the dim light of Kat's sigil. He would have to inspect that sigil in order to learn it.

"Anyone hurt?" Vincent called out to the people in the room.

That is definitely a possibility, but there's no way Anise could predict that and she's good hearted, but not entirely wise about such things.

I'm kinda glad that Tyaelaem's mask is likely to be put to good use. I was considering holding onto it for Anise to switch between the hawk and the rabbit, but it fits her character to give a form of protection to someone that needs it and it fulfills her goal somewhat. :D I love how this is going.
Hahahah I see, now I feel silly. XD
@Mokley I never said he actually opened it, just attempted praying that it was...
Vincent felt the trolley drop as he stared at the pink soul stone. He realized that his quick quip earlier was actually the facts. This was a soul. "Huh..." His mind wandered at what he could do with the stone. He then winced internally now wishing that he paid better attention in Father's lessons. He glanced around at the stone statues all around the area. He felt like it was a waste for so much power to be left behind, but with the Grit coming there wasn't much time to grab anything more than what was in his hand.

Vincent pocketed the stone and as he did he heard a loud bang causing the trolley to drop a bit more and he caught himself the best he could. He looked up as he heard the sound and saw all sorts of creatures climbing over the wall. He chuckled a bit madly. So much for building a wall. Maybe the Queen should have built a roof with the sky painted on the ceiling. No wall could do anything against beasties that could climb them without problems.

Vincent didn't think, he acted. He grabbed at Kat's arm and looked her in the eyes cooly. "C'mon." He dashed towards the unopened door just off the landing. He wasn't one hundred percent sure that it was an exit, but anywhere was better than standing in front of a stampede. While he was grateful for whatever moron destroyed the city, Vincent didn't want everyone to die. He attempted to open the door praying that it was unlocked.
@Mokley I absolutely love your choice of music, I love Thomas Bergersen's compositions.

While the sensation was no longer unfamiliar, Anise again felt divided between two choices backed by powerful feelings. While her outfit had become singed by the dragon fire, something told her that with the protection of the Spirit Lantern and the strength of her own will she might actually be able to walk through the fire. She winced at the brightness of the light of the fire and the heat it put off. Would the fire completely destroy the lantern and free this portion of the dragon's egg completely? She had taken the first step by shattering the lantern perhaps this would finish the job.

She remembered what the fire did to Reus' who tried to get her to come away from the fire. She knew the flames could be deadly, but she also wanted to help the stranger. The decision to abandon this route or not was a heavy one. Part of her believed in the Dragon's ability to protect her from its own fire. Part of her wanted to abandon this and continue downriver to the lake where she could find the next lantern and return the Lady of the Pond to her home. Morly cried out.

"GET ON THE GOSHDANGIT RAFT CRAZY LADY!"

She chuckled to herself a bit. Perhaps she was crazy. Crazy enough to consider walking into fire an option. She pulled herself away from the fire and made her way to the raft. There is one responsibility I must... absolutely must meet before I chase after the fire. This is what she told the Dragon.

Anise sat down on the raft and looked at Morly. "Are you alright?" She seriously hoped that the Kith wasn't anything more than scared of what just happened. If he had become injured she would have felt awful. She listened to whatever response he had and then looked downriver towards the lake. She had the stone and black chain that held the Lady of the Pond. She remembered that Wendetae had told her to break it and throw it into the lake before the Lady went truly mad. After that she was going to the ship wreck to find the Lantern there.
I'm going to laugh if Vincent's random wandering results in him passing everyone else in a parallel hallway.

That feeling when presented with choices is a wonderful one. :3

EDIT: I really really toyed with the idea of jumping into the fire lantern first, but I want to see the Lady of the Pond free more than a Dragonfire infused Anise.

EDIT EDIT: That post was a trip down memory lane T_T
