"Sorry, go on ahead without me, I think I'm too heavy for that climb."

One thought ran through Rain's mind at that statement. You have got to be kidding me! Who in their right mind would be willing to stay near a monster like that? It just possessed that woman! Who knows what it's capable of. She didn't care to hide her expression, making it quite clear that she thought she was crazy. Then there was the girl going to towards the singing and whatever that was only could be insane too. This whole place was insane, even the ogre!

Rose introduced herself, at least someone seemed to have their marbles all in one place. She then pointed out towards some vines.

"Well, that certainly looks like our best bet." She said, gesturing towards the vines."Last one downs ogre food?" She said with a playful smile. "We better be quick about it."

"Right now, I'll take a best bet any day," Rain commented as she started climbing down the vines.

Suddenly the ogre rushed towards them at a crazy speed. How on earth was something so huge so fast? It lunged at her trying to grab her, but reflexively she kicked at the wall to push herself away from the monster's grasp. She had managed to slip out of its grasp, but she felt the vine she held onto snap and let out a breath in surprise as she fell the remaining distance to the mud with a loud slap. She laid there stunned a few moments while the ogre stupidly looked at its palm with a dumb expression on its face.

An idea popped into her head and she started covering herself in mud and then she started crawling away from the dumb giant. Hopefully, Rose would take after her example and disguise herself too. Maybe it would think that it had literally crushed her into nothing. That would be great. She headed towards the front of the stone towards the drawbridge. She was unaware of the fact that it had finally recovered enough to grab at Rose.

Anise didn't move for the first few moments that she opened her eyes. She stared into the darkness of the forest contemplating the dream that she just had. She was confident that this dream had been sent to her through the Spirit Egg. She now had a greater understanding of what the Dragon had experienced. What she had experienced.

Your daughter was the Lady of Light? Anise thought out loud to the Dragon. This was the only reasonable explanation she could think of. That the Spirits of the forest were the Dragon's children. I will work with you to seek out justice. Have you any way to reach out to your ch-

Anise stopped mid-thought as hunger pangs ripped through her body. How long had it been since she had last eaten? She had done so much that she couldn't remember. She curled up tighter as the pains struck again.

"Reus took the Witch back home," he told her solemnly. "Don't worry, you're safe."

Only now had she realized that she was being dragged through the forest on a sledge by Peck. Safe in the relative terms at least. She sat up and looked around noticing that the lake was out of sight. She freed the Spirit Egg from the place it was tied up and clutched it in one hand close to her heart.

"Peck," She said brightly. "Thank you. Do you know where I could get some food? I'm not sure I can go much further without it."

She had read stories about people going more than a week without food, but that could only be fantasy, right? Regardless of that thought, she did not want to be a burden to Peck and wanted to know how to survive on her own. So far, she had managed simply by luck or the goodwill of others. Sooner or later, she would have to use her own two hands to make do for herself. She truly felt grateful for the sacrifices made by everyone she had met for her and their survival, including the Dragon herself, but she would eventually be in a place where she'd have to rely on only her own abilities.

So, @Mokley I was thinking perhaps Anise could have a dream where she meets the dragon or something like that. It was an idea that popped into my head just now, I thought it would be pretty neat. This is the first time she has actually slept since her arrival in this forest. She had rested in the pool area before, but she couldn't actually get any sleep there.

"Hey! Friend, you're not planning on leaving without us, are you!?" Rose gave her a look of exaggerated mock sadness. "We should stick together, we're not exactly in familiar territory, and we don't know whats outside!"

Rain jumped when she was called out to. She glanced back towards the person who called at her with the same expression she had when the authorities had captured her: utter fear. "Hey! Friend," had been the words yelled to her when she had been caught the last time. Then she had seen that filthy traitor Casius whom had been her supplier for the mission she had been one. Thankfully, he had no clue who her comrades were in her war against the government. For her this was only yesterday although she had no clue how long she had been committed to the Stone. The Venitech had rushed her processing to keep things quiet.

She looked meekly up at the blue-haired girl. "Could I get a little help? Please?"

She took a moment to calm down somewhat and reached down to help Rose up when she heard a crash sound and turned her head to see an ogre among the ravaged trees. "Right, just great. Better out here and able to run I guess." She looked back at her new friend as she pulled the woman up. "Name's Rain. We should get out of here before big guy over there gets to us." She pointed at the ogre approaching through the trees.

"The gems and a way out and I'll agree."

Both her tone and her eyes had a calmness to them, like one resigned to their fate to die, a lying smile plastered across her face as she stuck her hand back out like one would for a handshake.

"Let's not waste time, hmm? I don't feel like dying here."

Rain had a bad feeling about what was about to happen. Things were terrible right now, and she believed that they would only get worse. Way worse. Then she heard the laughter that sent chills down her spine.

"A curse! Hungry for sapphires and diamonds, I see, or the blood will run."

Nali's hands and legs pushed her to her feet, where her body swayed unsteadily. Her hand stretched out, and her mouth grinned while her eyes admired the way her fingers closed around a handful of rubies.

"But isn't blood the more delicous?"

Nali's head turned around, slowly, and she saw Grace and Rose at the crumbled wall on the far side of the room. Her grin broadened, impossibly wide.

"Theirs, for example?"

Rain pulled Rose up quicker. "Come on! Lets go!" Then she reached down to the other person. "Come on lets get away from the scary 'god' demon thingy." She resisted the urge to leave the other person to their demise and waited for them to (hopefully) quickly grab her hand so she could pull her up. "Come on. Come on." She urged repeatedly, fearful of the ogre at her level and the "god" in the Crypt of Stone. She'd rather risk her life in the war-destroyed landscape around her filled with ogres than deal with a "god" whether its weak or not.

*Jolts upright surprised*

@chukklehed
"Vince!" The robot hollered down the stairs, where Vincent was the one farthest along. Of course, the robot had facial recognition software built into its cameras. "Lead the way, buddy, down five flights and out through the armory." He shot a few more Grit out of existence. PEW! PEW! "Pick yourselves up somethin' nice, but do it quick."

Vincent winced internally as the robot called down to him. He expected the robot to have some sort of facial recognition database, but he absolutely hated being called "Vince". He felt chills down his spine every time he heard himself being called that. He shook his head to shake off the chills and continued down the stairs keeping an eye out for anymore soulstones on the way.

He looked over at Kat, who he had just caught up with. "I'm with you."

< "There should be a teleport sigil waiting for you on the other side of the armory," > the queen's voice said through the robot head in Kat's arms. < "It'll bring you directly to the palace." >

He partially didn't want to go through the sigil into the palace, but he also had no way of judging how safe it would be for him to leave the wall in any other way. Once he made it to the armory, he looked carefully at the armor to see if there were any varieties or if they were the same. Once he judged that they were all the same he hesitated to put any armor on. He had heard from the sound of the metal just how easily the Grit could tear through metal, how could this armor do any better?

He stepped over to the sigil and scanned it over, burning it into his memory. This could only be the teleportation sigil. He remembered reading about them and how they needed someone to be familiar with the location to effectively teleport without another sigil to guide on the other side. Two sigils were most effective and they worked both ways as entrances and exits. He could tell that this one, while rushed would still work as needed.

Vincent looked around while deciding what to do next. The half-midnight half-daylight sky was an incredible sight. He could tell the city was still calm here. Although, he doubted that would last long especially with the Grit not too far behind them. He looked over to Kat and anyone else that had come through the door. He really didn't want to go to the palace, so he decided that he'd let everyone else through before making a final decision to go through or not. "Everyone else go first, I'll make sure that the sigil stays operating."
