"Guess it's done then." He looked to Rain again, his body heavy and loose and dripping wet. "The gods sleep no more, the singer sings no more, the Stone sleeps instead, and Celana is lost to never be found, never to be found." He lifted his head again, scanning the wreckage. "Where are the humans I wonder? So afraid. Maybe died of fear."

Just as soon as she managed to pull him out of the water and get some time to try and think the odd man woke up and started moving around without so much as a breath. The words that came out of his mouth mostly made no sense to her. Except gods and humans. Rain blinked at him a few times just to make sure she wasn't seeing anything as he moved around without too much trouble. What did he mean about where the humans were? Didn't he know he was right next to one? What was he?

"Up and over, no place for me here." He set about the long task of finding the necessary materials to fix the elevator, which sat half-submerged in the pond.

Finally Rain regained enough sense to clear her throat and speak. "Celana? What's that? What do you mean where are the humans? I am a human! There are others awake too! Those stupid gods were trying their darnedest to get into me." She shuddered at that thought. "Uh-uh. I am not letting that happen."

She then noticed he was looking for parts. She glanced around to see the broken elevator and cautiously made her way over just to make sure she didn't slip. "I don't much like the idea of going up there again. Not with the big kitty up there trying to take my soul." She looked up towards the hole above her and clenched her teeth at the thought of falling again. "I think... I think I was lucky enough to survive my first fall down here. I don't think I want a go at round two."

As she stopped at the elevator she noticed the hydraulics were still in fair shape, but the cable grips had snapped leaving their partner cables hanging. The grips would need to be completely replaced. There were other parts that needed repairs as well, but she'd have to get the elevator out of the water to do so. Not to mention she needed the tools as well.

She waved her hand towards the odd man. "Hey, uh, metal-man... I can fix this. I just need the right tools. I need a couple hydraulic pumps to lift this out of the water too. I can't get at the parts that are submerged, and it'd be good to see what's underneath." Before she knew it, in spite of the pain she was in, she felt quite comfortable as she started giving direction to the guy so she could fix the elevator. If it weren't for all the loose water she would have started to feel like she was back in her and her father's shop working a repair order directing their employees.

She quickly rattled off the names of all the tools and supplies she'd need as she inspected the elevator more and more closely.

I want to keep going further with this Old Gods returning to the world plot and I want to see what's up with the caverns under the Tomb. I think it'd be interesting to see how society has changed since the undetermined length of time that our characters have been put to the Stone.

I think we have an all female cast at the moment. Seems legit.

I'm loving the sudden influx of people! :D

I'm feeling pretty good about my post. Anise has definitely grown a lot (and super fast) since her last experience with the Lord of Shadow. I actually considered having her calling on Tyaelaem's spirit to help her, but I think this is better for now. I'll probably use that card for later unless you steal it from me @Mokley.

"You're concerned for my safety, at the hands of the Lord of Shadow?" Her perfect lips formed an amused smile. "He is powerless against me. The water is unaffected by darkness; it flows in light, it flows in pure shadow. He could send the dead into my waves and they can gather at the bottom of the lake for eternity for all I care. He cannot threaten me, no matter how angry he might be. The Lord of Flame could boil me, The Lord of the Breeze could suck the lake dry; the Lady of the Stone could dam my rivers, and the Lord of the Wood could fill the lake with forests til their roots have devoured it -- but the Lord of Shadow is nothing. Keep that in mind, Lady of Light, as you discover the power I've drawn into your hand."

Anise nodded still uncertain. She was fully aware that the Lady of the Pond held extraordinary power, but the Lord of Shadow had been gathering power for millennia. She certainly preferred caution over arrogance, but perhaps the Lady was right in that the Lord of Shadow couldn't harm her. She decided to accept her response.

"Touch a circle in the surface of a bowl of water, and I will appear to you," she told Anise. "Should you have need of me, Lady of Light." With that, she dissipated in a shimmer of faint fog, and then there was nothing but the lap of the sparkling water of the lake.

Anise smiled again brightly and genuinely. "Thank you." Now she knew the Lady respected her position which left her with a stronger feeling of confidence than she had before. She turned to face Peck whom had remained silent behind her.

Peck released a breath he'd been holding, and he wiped sweat from his brow. "Well. That went okay I guess? We gotta do that again, huh? The Lady of the Stone?" He was not at all happy about this. "She's probably down in the old caverns under the mountain. That's a forbidden place, where the Dragon used to be sealed up. Haunted, too." He shifted from foot to foot, hoping Anise would just forget about the whole thing but knowing very well she was determined to keep going.

Anise clasped her hands together letting the Lantern of Flight hang in front of her. The mixture of white and blue light flickered over her mixing energetically in a dance around her body. The sound of a haunted cavern sounded about as pleasant as taking a walk through the Forest just for fun. Even so with this recent success, Anise felt even more eager for more.

"It'll take at least half a day to walk there. Wish I hadn't sent my gryphon away, we could --"

She noticed the tendril of darkness approaching his leg far too late to warn him. As he disappeared into the shades before her she reached out reactively to try and grab his hand but even that was too slow. She would have to have faith in the rune of protection she gave him to keep him safe from the dangers presented by the Lord of Shadow and his minions. She had absolute faith that she had enough power to match him and that inexperience and doubt had been her biggest problem with her last confrontation with him.

She fiercely reached out towards the shades with the power of Spirit to usurp the Lord of Shadow's control over them. She was not going to let Peck die, but first she needed to tear through the Lord of Shadow's ranks. "I'll not let you take him, Lord of Shadow! That is my friend! My comrade!"

She knew the only reason he would take such an action would be because he feared her power or at least the potential she held to bring back the Dragon. "I am the new Lady of Light. I am the Dragon's Herald. I am the Guardian of this Forest! You make a poor king to allow your kingdom to fall this far." She pointed towards the shades before her. "Release Peck!"
@Stitches It's quite possible that something happened to break the alarm sigils and Vincent just doesn't know... I think that would be a cool development. It's likely that Kharees would run into the occasional servant as the DeMoore family has enough money to hire a small army of them (probably two dozen). It's a fairly sizable estate with a few buildings: servant's house, main mansion, and an attached guest's housing area. The servants are likely to be fairly spread out throughout the area. His family definitely puts more value on magic than technology being a prideful family of mages, so the only robots would be at the gate entrances just so the family looks more progressive than they really are. Any anti-intrusion sigils would be non-lethal and likely would only knock your character out for around 10-15 minutes and only would work once until they recharge slowly over the day. Only in more protected parts of the mansion like the library or the hidden family vault that Vincent is unaware of would have deadly countermeasures.

That's about all I can think of for information about the household off the top of my head. The rest you guys can come up with :)
@Mokley I think it's fun participating in environment creation, especially if the place is one my character is most familiar with. I think this creation would be even cooler with everyone taking part in it too! :)
"You're Vincent DeMoore," the Queen said in recognition, mild and curious. A small smile glinted on her pale face. "I feel better knowing someone of your experience will be accompanying this expedition."

Vincent felt impressed that the Queen recognized him. They had never met face to face until now, and only on occasion had he seen her and that was because Father brought him to the Palace a few times on business only to be babysat by Randy. There was a small pleasure he felt in the fact that he held Randy's life in his hands now, and he could do whatever he wanted with it. He grinned wolfishly and nodded. He would enjoy taking advantages of the resources he would get in the mansion and could move freely through the estate.

He glanced at the bracelet the Queen handed to Berry trying to get a good view of the sigils written on it, but he couldn't get a decent view of them. Watched as she directed Berry in how to use it and memorized the map of the people and teleportation points for future use. The locations were precise enough that he could figure out the rest from his perfect recall. He turned his attention towards the portal as he impatiently waited for Roy to return with the all-clear.

Roy burst through the portal to announce the all-clear finally and Vincent eagerly stepped through. The room he ended up in was the ballroom which was huge and could hold a party of one hundred and fifty people comfortably. An empty stage sat in the south side of the room where the half-night half-day sky could be seen through parts of the stained glass window on the wall. An empty and covered buffet table surrounded by a dozen dining tables and chairs were placed on either side of the stage so that the middle ground could be used as a spacious dancing floor. He could see one of the servants of the household frozen on the stage in mid-sweep staring at the small pile of sand she had swept up earlier this morning.

He knew the alarm sigils would trigger a few moments after the next person entered the room, so he said aloud. "The people that enter this room through this portal are guests of Vincent DeMoore of House DeMoore, and are allowed to come and go as they please." He knew the reason they didn't trigger at Roy's presence was because he was a robot and the sigils were not set to deal with intrusions by robots.

Vincent faced the portal to greet whomever came through and once everyone was in the building he said. "Welcome to my family's estate. I need to go to the library to scan through a few books. Feel free to explore as you feel necessary. There's likely a few more servants around here, and... my mother." Father could be anywhere in the city.

He wanted to research a few sigil and rune strokes before beginning his tests with the souls he had in his pocket.
Alright I have a decent picture in my head... it might take a couple days for me to actually get it written down in a way I like it.

I figure we can all share in the design of the mansion/estate as our characters explore the building and the property around it.
