I may come back and edit this as I just got home from a pre-licensing course that ran all day.

This has me at curious.
I like the sound of this. Definitely interested. I think I have a character concept in mind that would be enjoyable for this.
Arthur stared up at the water ceiling. He was puzzled about why the ceiling was water. It should be in this room and he should be swimming in it right now. What if this was actually a dream? That made sense. This was a really really weird dream. He felt himself calming down at that thought. He then decided to try something.

He climbed out of the pillow hole he dug himself and grabbed one of the least heavy pillows. With all of his might he threw it up into the water just to see what would happen. Would it splash? Could he even make the throw? Would it fall out of the water and land back in the pile?
He had no idea. However, weird water like that in a weird dream like this one could only bring about weird results. At least as far as he could imagine.

The buttons were interesting, but they were going to be there for as long as he was dreaming and with this dream being so weird he had no idea when he would wake up. Either way, the buttons could wait. So could the cat.

OH. MY. GOD! Freaking awesome post @Mokley! The return of Hania's rosary brought a tear to my eye. From what I gathered it seems the Lady of Light is not actually dead, simply in prison. Oh that is so exciting!!!!

At first Anise only felt the extraordinary discomfort and agony brought on by the Lord of Shadow's control over the spirits before her. She could tell she was fading and she was fading fast. Truly, she was terrified. Just as terrified as when she first arrived in the Forest. Even so, she stood her ground and braced herself against the overwhelming force of the spirits before her. She could feel the raw emotions flowing from them and without the protection of the Spirit Egg she barely managed to maintain herself.

A single thought passed through her mind, perhaps it is better that I am doing this without the help of the Dragon.

The overwhelming feelings and thoughts from the spirits made it much harder for any other thoughts outside of emotion.

I'm scared.
This is eternity.
We are only objects.
We were never alive.
Nothing has meaning.
Fighting is useless.
There is no point.
There is no good.
I'm scared.
I'm scared.

Come with me.

Somewhere deep among the noise, Anise could hear a voice. Her voice. The memory of her own sun flashed before her mind's eye and Anise could not help but to grin. Deep down in her heart of hearts, she knew what this meant. "Come along, sister. Let us work together and save this world."

She welcomed the Light fully and entirely. Hope exploded throughout her so much so that it radiated outwards towards the gray spirits. She watched as the Lord of Shadow's grasp weakened on them and as it happened they transformed into more life-like forms. This was it! The start of the fall of the Lord of Shadow. His tyrannical reign would soon come to an end, and the people and spirits that lived under his selfish and heartless rule would be free before too long.

"Lord of Shadow," Anise called with raw conviction. "For too long you have thrived selfishly off the suffering of others. I, Anise Sinclair, declare war on you. I will fight you with everything I have, and I will win."

Just as she finished her brief speech, Anise felt herself shoved back into her body. She slowly opened her eyes and they readjusted to the blue and golden light mixing in the room. Peck called out to her and her eyes met with his. She beamed brightly at him. She could feel the hopeful spirits around her even though she could not see them. As Peck stepped back staring in amazement at her glowing hands Anise stood up with a proud and energetic expression on her face.

"I found her," she stated with a joyful tone. "We must go back to the lake. We must free her."

She had an idea that with the purifying power of Light and the healing power of Water she could begin to save the Dragon. However, she felt she had to completely free the Lady of Light first to do so successfully. She knew that the Lord of Shadow would do everything in his power to stop her, but that would not stop her from doing everything in her power to rescue the Lady of Light.

She put on her new shoes and marched on out towards the lake with purpose in her stride.
Vincent watched with keen interest as he observed Maribeth go through the process of de-petrification. He found the magic at work to be interesting. The result of the magic he found to be pathetic as she curled up into a ball after going through the phases of panic. He sighed and crossed his arms over his chest while he stared down on the weak maid. He felt he should say something, but all he could think of was how vulnerable she looked. He hated that.

He turned away from her considering who to rescue next when he finally said. "Take your time. Gather your wits. You are safe here now." He cringed internally at how forced it sounded to him. He prided himself on being smooth and articulate, but his frustration with her being so pathetic made him sound more like Father. He had mixed feelings about it. While on one hand using such a tone made him feel somewhat empowered. The other hand left him feeling bitter that he could speak in such a manner. He wanted to surpass his father not become him.

As he went from person to person he found the variation in their recovery fascinating. Vincent began to take mental notes for future reference, and began to consider the variables for the qualities of each person's soul. The cook's apprentice had an accent that nearly made him wince, but her passion and willingness to fight left him grinning instead. He responded with a quick nod and a "Yeah."

Once all eight that could be revived had been he heard Randy say:

"When this is over," said Randy in a careful tone, "and we've saved the world, may I remind you that you left me atop the Wall."

Vincent rolled his eyes as if it were obvious. "Well, duh. As if I could forget that. You were the first person I saw become petrified. Not to mention you were cramping my style with lovely Kat. Ugh, I hope she's alright! Screw this day! Screw the damned Grit!" He threw a punch at the wall in frustration. Finally, all the stress that had been building up - the stress he was not aware he had until now - came to the surface. He kicked over a nearby chair and then just glowered at it while taking deep breaths.

As he calmed down, one question arose in the back of his mind: where was Father? Why was he not here?
"What's a mommy?"

Arthur's mind instantly went to the worst possible scenario. That this place had no mothers. That was tragic and awful. He definitely could not stay here.

Quivering lips, he slowly turned towards the terrifying monster that was the cat. Then the walls. His eyes scanned the walls for any signs of a door. He refused to interact with the speaking animal. If he pretended it did not exist then maybe it would just leave. Besides, damp or not these pillows were actually somewhat comfortable. More comfortable that what this room felt like to him: prison.

He wished he still had Tyrone with him. At least he knew how Tyrone would deal with this. Tyrone always had ideas.
It has been a long time since my last advanced RP, but this one definitely captures my interest. I am thinking I might make a smuggler that had been arrested and was given the option of either serving in the navy or prison, and s/he decided to chose to serve.
