It seemed crazy to think 40, 50, even 60 years ago where we’d be now as a human race. When geneticists first discovered the growing mutation that gave people of a certain age super powers. There was panic, concern that this could lead into chaos, or a dawn of some strange new age for mankind. Unbelievably all these years later, things seemingly just turned out the same. People now walk the streets powered or not as if life never changed. Those who wanted to use their powers for good turned to police, firefighting, or medical fields. Otherwise aside from some outsiders who resented those with superpowers. Life just went on, supers and normals walking side by side.

Things didn’t change completely though, if you knew where to look.

The newfound supers brought the biggest changes into the world of sports, both amature and professional alike. While long standing sports leagues and teams for those normal still remain and are popular. Super based sporting events have become very big and exciting business. The matches became harder, faster, and more nuanced than ever before. The sports had to change and evolve for these newfound super athletes. Even the Olympics on down to colleges and high schools on down adapted the new fields, rules, and equipment.

For students at Sakuragawa High School though, it's the beginning of a new year. With the year ahead, and a new season ahead. While the normal football club is currently on its third straight nationals victory. The super football club has been ‘lovingly’ referred to other teams as the ‘Super Losers’. It's not without a lack of effort on their part. But things just haven't worked out, especially in comparison to the other school's and their much more developed super football squads. In fact, word around campus at the start of the school year is that if the super football team doesn't perform this year. Chances are faculty will close the club down for cost cutting measures.

With their backs to the wall, the super football club at Sakuragawa has one more chance to prove themselves. However a new influx of first year players, as well as a possible secret weapon, might finally give them the fighting chance the needed.

Power traits available:

Power: Able to lift tons, people with this power super sometimes have the body to match naturally, or take on a more normal look to them.

Speed: Able to run at extremely high speeds (The fastest ever recorded being speed of sound at 343 m/s. But this was only ever done once.)

Flight: Either they possess angelic looking wings, or they’re able to fly through more gravity based means.

Elemental based: Able to control or even turn into air, fire, water, or earth/rocks. Elemental power users

Elastic: Their body is completely remade into a completely elastic form. Able to stretch, compress, expand, contract, and reshape at will. People with this power usually wear special undergarments and special clothes to stretch with them.

(If you want to use a different power make sure you clear it with me first. I want to keep the options for superpowers simple.)

Positions (Super football is always played 9 on 9. All player based characters will be starters until specifically stated otherwise.):

Forwards - 2
Midfielders - ALL FILLED
Defensive - 3
Goaltender - 1

I'm working on the OOC for this as we speak. Here's the details as I have it...

The story is set in the relatively small town of Sakuragawa, in the Ibaraki prefecture of Japan. A three hour drive from the heart of Tokyo. The school's two football clubs have been on completely opposites sides of success. The normal football club is currently about to defend its third year as Nationals champions. The supers squad on the other hand has not exactly fair nearly as well. Things are looking bad for the super team. As the school isn't sure it can keep maintaining the equipment and set up for the super team if it can't perform.

However, this year the star player for the normal football team founds themselves arriving to the new school year with shocking news. Due to complaints from so many other normal football clubs about their skill level (As well as possible allegations of cheating/not properly tested to be normal/super). The player has to be transferred to the supers club. The super club has no idea how to take to having a normal on the team, as good as they are. This new player, along with a crop of new 1st year players. Show promise and might be the steps needed to change the club's fortunes around.

So while I'm certainly willing to make a normal player to fill in the spot, certainly if someone wants to make that character they're more than welcome too.

In terms of powers that are select-able I'm trying to make a list that'll be fairly well rounded. So far in terms of powers I have super strength, super speed, flight, elasticity, elemental users, and maybe psychic. Of course when in a game or practice they'll all wear bracelets that'll temper their powers down to manageable but still potent levels.

How does that sound to everyone?
Like I said too I'm open to having the focused sport be something else if people would rather something like basketball, baseball, or another sport that's got a good action flow to it. Football (soccer) just seemed like it was the easier to do and make for good moments.

Also does anyone have a preference if this is set in Japan, US, maybe England if we keep football (soccer) as the sport focus?
And yeah everyone's on the super team. I don't have an exact set up in mind for what powers can be picked. It'll be in catagories though, strength, speed, etc....
Individual players on a team, the name came from an idea based on Kuroko, where one player came from this dominating team that is now all playing for different schools. I wasn't sure about that though so its just a placeholder name for now.
Anime, realistic faceclaims doesn't seem right to me. But I'm probably not going to be super picky about it.
So basically I’ve been on a big sports anime kick lately, Haikyuu!!, Kuroko No Basket, Yuri On Ice, Free. Now besides the homosexual undertones, they all make the sport they represent look even more supercharged than they are to watch normally. Every little move heightened, making even the most mundane play something exciting.

Now of course in something, especially like Kuroko No Basket. This leads to some moments that are pretty damn insane and probably not possible for even pro players, let alone high schoolers. So with that in mind I wanted to make a sports anime inspired RP, but we’re cutting the middleman. In this whole universe, people with superpowers co-exist with normal everyday folks. Superheroes aren’t really a thing, police and fire departments just hire the superpowered people who want to do good. Otherwise with a few small pockets of anti-superpowered people. There’s not really any friction between the two sides.

This does lead also to sports being cut down the middle. Instead of JV and Varsity teams, its Super and Normal divisions. The rules and set up is different for both divisions, and the equipment is more heavy duty for super play. Although each player in the super division wears a bracelet during play to hinder any advantages and keep things relatively even. The action is fast paced and more resembles an arcade sports game than anything the real world could produce. Both divisions play co-ed, and although normals have competed on super division teams, its only in cases where they’re legit extremely good and/or crazy enough to do it.

I don’t have a solid idea in mind for plot. I am willing to hear out ideas, since everyone’s characters are going to be important in some way to everything. It’s going to be action/comedy based, and I’ll probably implement some kind of small system for if moves or goal attempts work or not. I am going with football (soccer) because it's the easiest to set up, and I’ve been playing too much Rocket League lately. I am open to other possible sports though.
For what I had previously?

Or just express interest in a random school based RP called Nevermind (Please Delete This)? Because the later will take a lot to figure out on my own...
