Thanks dude! I don't know if it'll work out yet. I'm willing to try, if I can find something neat that doesn't die out before it even starts. Yay optimism! I have a couple ideas for my own RPs but I'm not confident enough in my ability to run something. Did I ever tell you about the time I made an elf? A very tall, slightly overweight, goateed, boisterous, homosexual elf who was the lead singer in a rock band? He was fun.

Coming Home

So here I am, after taking a break for a year or so and now trying to find my way back. There are memories, obviously. Other forums, a dozen years ago, and the people I roleplayed with who became friends and lovers. I thought I could find something like that again, somewhere. I tried a few promising leads, spent hours and days and weeks typing my heart out, posting links in chains that I thought would reach through the sky.

And then. Then the stories ended, one after another, some before they even began, some not soon enough. The place looks different a year later, I'll give you that. More refined, a little more horsepower under the hood, a little more sugar in the coffee. I hate coffee. The smell makes me gag. Is that weird? It's probably weird.

I like goblins a lot. I hate stereotypes. I hate that a race must be evil because it's small and green and smells funny. So do you. I like subverting expectations. Why can't elves be fat and stupid? Why can't shadows be loving and the light be scathing and cruel? Why can't the invading aliens be the heroes come to wipe out the virulent war-hungry plague that is humanity? Okay Dud, calm down, baby steps.

Hey dudes, I'm Dud. I like heavy metal and other boys and guns that fire magical lasers. But not little pew-pew things, big freakin energy beams like BRA-KOOM BRA-KOOM. I like heroes that aren't perfect but are who they are because they want to be who they are and they'll raise their swords and charge their blasters and rally their allies to bring down the gigantic cyborg-dragon or actually befriend it and realize the real enemy is the little person behind the curtain who controls the world around them!

And then blow shit up.
