1. I wanted to do a story about a younger man and an older woman in the 1950's. The woman is a housewife (maybe a European or Cuban immigrant or Jew, making it more of a scandal) having an affair with the neighbor's bright, mature college boy son. The RP would revolve around them desperately wanting to keep it a secret, and what they're both getting out of it (freedom for her and a way for him to try and figure sexuality out early in is life). Of course they would eventually be exposed, with everything coming to a head at a dinner party with both her husband and his parents in attendance. How would the story end? Would one of the families leave town? Would he be disowned by his family or she by her husband? How would they say their goodbyes to each other? Or would they run away together? It will be more apparent which ending feels best once the dynamic in the story has been established.
2. A young nobleman (18-20) in line for his nation's crown has just entered into an arranged marriage with an older noblewoman (somewhere in her 30's). She has far more experience on the diplomatic circuit than he (in addition to being more extroverted and assertive) and will have to train him for the court before an upcoming appearance, lest their country be sent into a war due to one of his social errors. Of course they will slowly fall genuinely in love throughout the process. I'm not sure what I want to do for the setting. I could do czarist Russia, I might be up for doing a sci-fi fantasy steampunk thing, or we could just do it in a generic unnamed European nation in the 18th-19th century.
