Name:
Maaz
Age:
22
Gender:
Male
Height:
5'8"
Weight:
157
Appearance:
(Tan skin, black sleeveless shirt, black hair, the tattoo is dark red on his arm, and dark red stripes beneath his eyes, akin to war paint), black eyes
Powers:
Enhanced - Maaz exhibits superhuman displays of strength, stamina, and reflexes, making him an excellent pugilist or close-quarters combatant while in the Crimson Sky. However, even with this ability, he's still not capable of combating the elder Youkai that roam the blood-tinged realm, and he's practically put on a cap: unable to become stronger or weaker than he already is. This means that he has to rely more on his wit than anything when encountering an opponent far stronger than him, since it's a given that a simple one-on-one match guarantees his loss.
Fangfather - The wavy tattoos circling around his forearm and bicep do serve a purpose. A skin-embedded enchantment, these markings contain within them an in hand wind spell, ready for quick casting and spurred by his own will. The telltale signs that he's about cast is that the ink on his right arm begins noticeably glowing, and soon after he raises his arm, reels it back, and thrusts forward. The resulting spell is a powerful, wide torrent of wind accompanied by ravaging slashes of highly concentrated air, random in their placement and capable of cutting through wood, damaging stone and scratching metal. While numerous in the amount of gashes the spell can make and widespread in area, the spell requires generous amounts of energy from its caster (Maaz) and thus will take some time before it can be cast again (thirty minutes).
Weapons:
Fists, feet, and Fangfather.
Equipment:
Besides the clothing on his back, he might keep some money in his pocket for when he needs to buy food. He doesn't have any special equipment, besides the armor he's adorned on his left arm (steel gauntlet and pauldron).
Other:
N/A
Sample Post/Introduction:
The silhouette of a masculine figure hopped from rooftop to rooftop of the city's buildings. A 'clunk' resounded each time Maaz landed on the stone with his boots, his breathing heavy. A little more than weary, it would seem that he's come to a stop. Maaz leaned forward and rested his hands onto his knees, head dipped down as he took in more breaths to regain his stamina. After a moment, the man lifted himself up and spun about to look at what might lie behind him. His black eyes only took in the red skies, a few clouds above, and the roofs of buildings that he had used as platforms before. He let out a sigh of relief. The fact that he was tired must've meant that he had been running hard, as if for his life...
Unfortunately, Maaz wouldn't be able to relax for long. The sound of rustling air overhead touched his ears as it became louder and louder. Something was coming from the sky, and it sounded like it would make a hard impact. Maaz frantically swiveled about to prepare for the oncoming threat, which he knew far too well. Suddenly, a humanoid entity crashed onto the same roof twenty yards in front of the tan fighter, crushing the stone roof beneath it and causing massive cracks on the surface. It was squatting down as if to soften its devastating landing.
Assuming a defensive stance and taking a precautionary step back, Maaz prepared himself. The armored Youkai rose up to display its resolute and intimidating stature - eleven feet tall and well-armed. Present on its shield, helmet, and greaves were deep scratches, courtesy of Fangfather. It was this that he was running away from. He had managed to get away unscathed before by dodging most of its attacks and running away, but he honestly didn't expect it to follow him this far out. It would seem that a fight was inevitable. It was one hostile asshole of a Youkai. His worries stemmed most from the fact that its strength was greater and its speed was equal to his. Nothing he had on him would damage this beast, and it was even wearing armor. It's red orbs kept themselves plastered on Maaz the entire time, not emitting a word from its parched mouth. Given its placidity at the current moment and its determination to find him again, Maaz thought it best to make the first move. Didn't seem like it would stop following him, even though he didn't do anything besides being seen by it to gain its ire.
Maaz began to mutter to himself, "Alright, let's see. Face is left unguarded, visor up. Maybe I could try and land a hit there, get some soft flesh to damage. That would -- "
Just then, the Youkai made a move, causing the Chaser to flinch. It brought its sword hand up to its helmet and slid its visor down, its once unguarded visage now being provided with ample metallic protection. Looks like it was getting ready to rumble.
"Right, well, fuck me then."
Maaz took in a deep breath and set himself down in a sprinting form. His leg and arm muscles began to impressively bulge as he composed himself to strike first, feet and fingers digging into the crumbling stone to bolster the steadiness of his launch.
FWOOSH.
In an instant, the Chaser propelled himself forward off the ground and headed straight towards the armored knight at a spectacular velocity, fist reeled back and ready to be thrown. "Come on, come on, come on..." he thought as he closed in, hoping to at least get one hit in. The knight hardly budged from its position rather than dodging, and instead, before Maaz could land a hit, it rose its shield arm and swiped outwards in a horizontal arc. Normally, Maaz might have been able to dodge one of its attacks, but he made the mistake of going airborne and greatly limiting his mobility. Quite a shame.
Maaz let out a harrowing yelp of pain as the metal kite shield bashed into him and sent him flying off the rooftop. "AUGH!"
He landed on the stone walkway on the other side of the street upon his side with a dull thud and tightly clenched teeth. Thankfully, the fall was only four stories... But goddamn if it still didn't hurt like a bitch. Once the pain was duly registered, he leaned over so that he was lying on his back and looking up at the building that he had just flown off of, wondering if he could see whether or not the knight was still pursuing him. However, the towering knight was nowhere to be seen. Odd.
The battle might have been a loss for him, but at least he was able to survive, even if he was left incredibly tired and in significant pain.
"I think I'll just lay here for a while..."
