She blinked in surprise at the threat. She hadn't done anything so bad, had she? Mona was but a simple traveler of a simple mind. But this woman, all ice and fire, seemed to think she was a beast bent upon destroying their very foundation of life. Well, perhaps not quite so dramatic, but certainly, the threat of cutting off hands was a little over the top for having walked in. The guards had even let her by after all.

"Wel, I do like tah be keepin' my hands. I find they be useful for a number o' things. Same as yeh I 'magine." She spoke in a light and congenial tone. "I just be trackin' the stones, Miss. As ye can see, they be headin' that a'way and that a'way is where I be followin'. Up to the puff?" she inquired. Her slang statement asked if she was understanding what it was Mona was attempting to relay. The young woman pulled a few of the lapis from her pouch and held them out in the palm of her hand. "Followed these wee beasties up from the market place I did. Like a trail o' crumbs."

It took a long while as the two of them sat upon the bed. Bags were now knocked over to make room for the pair but the Queen did not care. Her whole attention was on the terrified girl before her. At long last, she spoke an apology. Fatima did her best to not interrupt or wave it away. Instead, she listened intently. She felt the girls hands come to a cold sweat as the dangerous words left her lips. Fatima herself stiffened without realizing it. When Illyria finally stopped, Fatima took those hands together and stroked the backs of the palms lightly.

"You are sharing secrets with me and so I will share one with you. Tell not a soul, living or dead." With little difficulty she constructed a forcefield of grey around the room. It locked the pair inside. No one would be able to enter or hear what was to happen in the Queen's extravagant bedroom. She was sure the young woman could feel the energy of it. "No one will bother us now. Tell me what you know of the Black Widow. How may I reach her? What must I do?" She placed the girl's hands onto her own lap and Fatima sat back. Her face was full of kindness and patience.

Another reason to pause. She picked up a stone and soon found a pair of booted feet in front of her. Her eyes trailed up. Oh good, there were legs, hips, torso, sword (not so good), and lastly, a very normal head belonging to a woman. Nothing so spooky or scary. The small traveler blinked a few times as the woman spoke. Mona looked about her to ensure it was not someone else to whom her words were directed. Nope. Just Mona.

Cocking her head to the side and small furrow line appearing between her brows she responded, "Well, I be Mona. Who be ye?" She tucked her lapis that she had just picked up into a pouch that was starting to get quite full of the stones. She returned her attention to the woman. Mona's stance was very relaxed, her arms hung naturally at her sides and her feet about shoulder width apart. Her wild curls moved lightly in the wind and a small smile was on her lips.

It was calming, sitting by this ocean shore. He crossed his legs and closed his eyes. He breathed in each time the sound of waves crashed against the sand and out again when they returned back. His mind drifted and wandered, he did not stop the thoughts. Sad things. Simple things. His dreams of supporting his family. His ethic of working hard. The burn out he had been feeling, pressed on by a strict father began to settle. His soul was less restless.

He opened his eyes and watched the waves with a small smile on his face. At this point, he decided to walk along the sandy beach. He removed his socks and shoes and rolled up the bottoms of his slacks. The heat of the sand felt wonderful against his soles and when the cold water lapped over his feet it cooled the burning sensation. He walked for about fifteen minutes before setting side his shoes and taking out his phone. There was inspiration burning in his belly but he did not know in what way he should express it.

Guy snapped pictures of the ocean and shoreline. After a bit, he sat down and studied the pictures. It then came to him. He tapped out a poem on his phone and then thought of the only person he would really love to send it to. Get feedback or to just share in this. He opened up his texts and then sent a single picture along with the words he wrote.

It was into the ocean's waves
I thought that I should slip.
Carry me on azure boughs
Away from rigid sandy shore.
In the quiet of the depths
of dark and unknown things
is where I'll ask a modest prayer
to soothe this luckless soul.

He hit send before tucking the phone back into his pocket. He expected no immediate response. He drew his legs up to his chest, wrapping his arms around them and setting his chin upon his knees. Again he watched the waves and forgot how long he had been out beside the ocean.

The Boardwalk
Interactions: Drake Blackmore @Ruler Inc, Henry Olin @junkmail, and Enoch @CaptainBritton

She dropped the alligator when Henry grabbed her and pulled her toward him. She made a sound of surprise and stared up at the giant, at first she was concerned at what he might do. Instead of anything untoward he pressed a gun into her hands. Bobbi disliked guns, not her thing. She'd much rather do her fighting up close and personal but she had no experience with anything the size of those monsters. She held out the gun as if it might explode and murmured her thanks.

It wasn't long until the froggy Drake hopped over to her. She grinned, put herself on his back and turned slightly toward Enoch. "See ya later, gator! Take care o' Mawley." With a small wave of the gun to gesture toward the stuffed animal, she held on tightly to Drake. In response to his note about the investigation, she said, "High ho silvah away!" Not being great with guns, she hoped she didn't accidentally kill her chance of escaping this chaos.

Goll-eeeee!

This was better than a daytime drama. Everyone was yelling at everyone. There was so much infighting going on. She stopped thinking it was amusing though when she realized she was about to be a part of all of this. She hoped they could get their shit together, otherwise, Mancini wasn't going to need any sort of mind control to break up this group. She could see things coming to a collapse.

Bobbi popped up off her desk again, figuring it was likely time to go. Well, upstairs - not completely. She was going to give them a chance, after all, it was tough coming back from something that fucked with your brain. Before leaving though she approached Ayita in the moments when Richard had stepped aside to speak with someone. She crouched down in front of the girl. Looking up into her eyes, Bobbi gave her the charmingest lopsided grin. "Heya," she said. Her voice was soft and low, not quite a whisper. "Sorry to overhear all that stuff that was being said. Was hard not to. However, I know a thing or two about what happens when your brains is in an altered state. I know what sorts of things can happen to a person. I seen 'em. I done 'em. Lots of things I regret. If you want to talk about it, well guess what honey - I still gots two ears." She tugged on one of her lobes and realized she still had the cotton balls inside of them. She took them out with a smirk. "Fuck me. Anyway, see ya 'round hun."

Standing up, she was ready to leave when Richard came back. "See ya' 'round too hot stuff." She winked at him before giving the pair a small wave. Beast directed that everyone should head out and so she followed the group, crunching down on the dwindling bits of her sucker. "God damn, what a day. Y'all got any whiskey?" she asked as they exited the operating theatre.

Bea watched the conveyer belt slowly work the groceries toward the older woman who quickly scanned the items before pushing them toward the bag boy. There was a click as a divider was placed down and someone else's items joined hers. She watched for a moment, noticing that they were much like her own - snacks. Her eyes returned to her own things. She began to dig through her fanny-pack to get her wallet when the man next to her spoke.

"It's Beatrice, right?"

Stopping the digging, hand still in the pack, she turned her face toward the stranger. Who was this? How did they know her name? She frowned slightly - just a small twitch of the corners of her lips and a furrow of her brow. It was brief but he might have caught the minor instance of an expression on her cold face. Tilting her head to the side, the curly haired girl responded, "That's correct." Her voice was a soft, gentle monotone. She then put her attention on the woman handling her things as she had almost finished ringing her up.

"You having a party or something?"

He was still talking to her? Bea was surprised, she didn't know him. Attention back on the young man beside her, she chewed her lower lip as she took an uncomfortably long time studying him. "Ah," she finally said, eyebrows raised and a kinder tone warmed her bronzed face. "I go to school with you. Yes, I am having an 'or something.' You are welcome to come if you like." She dug through her fanny pack and pulled out a little notebook and pen. She quickly scrawled out her name 'Bea' and phone number. The handwriting was elegant and almost like calligraphy. She pushed the paper into his hand as the woman who was checking her out recited - "Your total comes to $123.89."

Bea then, like the strange little hurricane she was, quickly paid for her items and left the store.
I would be very much interested as well please and thank you~

Bobbi blinked rapidly as the flash of light briefly blinded her. Shaking her head she glanced at a father and son duo who were having a bit of a to-do. She rolled her eyes but her attention was quickly caught as the blue dude told her that her blood could not be used. She frowned slightly, her past once again causing her trouble. With a shrug, she rolled the sucker in her mouth and went back to her desk perch. "Your loss, I'm sure some of these kids would love to get high," Bobbi said dryly.

What a fucking day.

SO absolutely and completely boring, sitting here watching the teens bitch and moan and few adults being all adulty. She felt like the biggest and fattest pimple on a pubescents acne ridden face. How much more could she stick out as different and weird and so very very unhelpful. She sighed and leaned back against the wall the table was up against. And all of a sudden there was a girl who popped up out of fucking nowhere.

"Shit y'all. Are we being attacked again?" But the girl didn't seem to do much at first. Obviously not a danger at the moment. "Aw fuck, that was just one-ah youse guys huh?" Was this what life with mutants was going to be like? Just random shit happening all the time forever? It was gonna be tough to get used to but at the very least it would be interesting. Never bored. It was a bit like being on LSD again.

She paused when the guards came into view, as well as the palace. She whistled softly, clearly impressed with not the building but the well-kept lawns. It clearly said that these people had money, wealth, and time. To have the kind of hired help who could keep the grass trimmed. Then again, maybe they used magic? She hardly knew. Mona would admit she was not at all well versed in the Small Wet Country Across the Sea.

The young woman decided that it would be worthwhile to keep following the stones. Her curiosity was getting the better of her and she had clearly forgotten her original plan of getting to know the city. She was not completely focused on gathering these stones. Mona nodded to the guards as she walked past them and made her way into the castle.
