James smiled and shook hands with Luciano as Bonnie introduced him. Once again, the beast made the noise again, which James found just a little irritating now. He looked up to the cloud that Luciano was pointing to and sighed. “Guess we don’t have a choice.”
Yeah, I wouldn't mind if this lasted a while longer.
"Not sure, but it definitely had a serpentine body structure." James replied to Bonnie. He turned his attention back to the others. When Andrew mentioned going back, James had second thoughts about doing so. “Not so sure about that idea at the current time.”
James shook hands with Charles and exited the car to meet Andrew and another man beside him, possibly intoxicated. When Bonnie was telling her story, James gave the occasional nod for confirmation. James turned over to Bonnie and Charles. “Did either of you manage to get a good look at that thing?”
As the unidentifiable creature rose from the swamp, James was overcome with a variety of emotions. Fortunately, a car had just pulled up in the perfect time. He ran after Bonnie and into the car, not sure what to make of what just happened. He looked at the man in the driver's seat, grateful yet suspicious at the same time. "So who exactly are you?"
James looked ahead towards the swamp, something he had never knew existed at the location. It was only now did he begin question where he was. He barely had time to think before the stench that the swamp produced reached him. “Oh God…” he muttered to himself. He admit that the combination of the odor and the noise was starting to become unsettling, and he himself was feeling uneasy about the situation, but he couldn't just leave, could he? No, he couldn't quit now, he was determined to find the source of the growls. James turned his face to Bonnie’s. “This may be the worst decision I've ever made in my life, but I came here to investigate, and I can’t leave without knowing where this noise is coming from.” James said this with a bit reluctance in his voice, but he hoped Bonnie wouldn't be able to tell. “What about you?”
James kept walking with his flashlight in hand, trying to find the source of the noise. It was undoubtedly getting louder as they moved forward. Every once in a while, James would take a quick glance at Bonnie to see if she’d found anything. The hill was covered in trees and the grass was tall enough to conceal any small animals, though it was doubtful that whatever was making this noise was small. If only he knew what he was looking for. After a couple of minutes, James began to stop walking and tilted his head. “Hear that?” he asked Bonnie. He swore he could’ve heard a faint slithering noise that a snake or a creature of that sort would make. As he scanned the ground with his flashlight, he grabbed his gun, keeping it pointed down. "Think we're close."
James looked out of the window of the car and into the town, admiring the quietness of town. "Well you never know, this whole thing might be an elaborate hoax. Wouldn't be the first time I've been involved in one of those," he said. "But you know, I just have this feeling. And it would be a nice change of pace, doing something other than scolding the grocery robbers." What if the reports were actually real? James thought it over for the remainder of the ride, and he couldn't help but feel a little anxious. As they arrived near the hills, he started to listen more cautiously for any noises being made. It wasn't long until the silence was in fact broken by an ominous noise. "Looks like we have investigating to do."
James skimmed through the reports lying on his desk for what seemed like the hundredth time. There were quite a few of them, though it was still unclear as to whether or not they were actually accurate. As Bonnie entered the room, James breathed a sigh of relief as he threw the papers down on the desk. "Oh yeah, I'm ready." He got up from his seat and grabbed his coat and put it on. "I need to find out what this is about now, for the sake of my curiosity."
Okay, appearance should work now. And as for starting, I dunno, investigating sounds fun though.
