Brings back good memories.

Good things come to those that wait up
But don't wait to jump in too long

After spending nearly two hours getting herself together, Ella Franklin was finally ready to head to the Hollingsworth household for their first Summer gathering. As usual, the eldest Franklin twin had started her routine off with a scorching hot, twenty minute shower. She spent the following thirty minutes rummaging through her closet in search of an outfit. "Wear something presentable," Ella's mother had told she and her twin sister earlier that day, "I don't want to see any sneakers or denim jeans." Of course, Ella had no problem abiding by her mother's stipulations; she loved getting dressed up, and had a closet full of beautiful pants, skirts, and blouses that were more than ready to be shown off to the world. After finally picking out something to wear, the young woman then spent the remainder of her time sitting at her small vanity slicking down her edges, pulling her braids into a neat ponytail, and applying a bit of makeup to cover a few blemishes and give her face more color.

By the time Lana and Lewis were calling upstairs for their twin daughters, Ella had just finished shoving a few items into her purse. In swift motions, the young woman tossed the bag over her shoulder, turned off her lights, and headed down to meet her parents. She only paused to tap on her sister's bedroom door on her way down. "Hurry up, Brynn!" Ella yelled, before quickly skipping down the stairs and doing a quick spin for her parents. "So, is this presentable enough?" she asked with a smirk; her mother simply chuckled and shook her head before motioning towards the back door.

"You all go ahead and start walking. I almost forgot to bring the cake." Ella watched with a raised eyebrow as her mother headed back to the kitchen before looking up at her father with inquiring eyes.

"Don't worry," Lewis Franklin whispered to his child as he followed her out of the back door, "It's store bought." The young woman let out a sigh of relief as she pulled off her heels and stepped foot onto the warm beach sand; if it was one thing that Lana Franklin wasn't particularly good at, it was baking. Ella chuckled to herself as she remembered a past incident where her mother first decided to try her hand at baking; she'd chosen to make crostata, an Italian pie, using a recipe she found online. It obviously didn't end well for the family of four who'd been looking forward to tasting the dessert.

As soon as Brynn and Lana had caught up to Ella and her father, the family of four began their brisk walk along the shoreline. Ella simply took in her surroundings throughout the entire journey; A host of memories came flooding into her mind with nostalgia as the four of them continued on their path down the stretch of beach. The young woman felt a smile creep across her face as she reminisced about those magical times she'd spent with her friends swimming around in the ocean, relaxing in their home Jacuzzi, or messing around in the tree house that was not too far from where they lived. In just a few minutes, their destination came into view, and the family quickly made their way to the front door. Ella made sure to dust the sand off her feet and slip her shoes back on before ringing the doorbell.

Soon, the front door was pulled open, and Lewis and Lana Franklin were immediately hugged and greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Hollingsworth; the cake that her mother had been holding somehow ended up in Ella's hands. Ella only stuck around long enough to give each of the Hollingsworth parents brief hugs; as soon as she'd been released from their clasps, she made a beeline towards the area of the foyer where none other than Tae Hollingsworth and Lincoln Everett stood. "Nice to see you two again," the young woman said, before making her way to the dining room. She simply smiled and nodded her head in greeting to Veronica Hollingsworth before letting out a deep breath, setting the cake carrier onto the table, and plopping down into the nearest seat. "Don't worry," Ella said to Veronica Hollingsworth with a half smile, "our mom didn't make this one. It's one hundred percent safe to eat."

I'll try to have a post up either tonight or tomorrow. It honestly depends on a few things since the 4th of July is tomorrow...

With a glass of white wine in one hand and her cell phone in the other, Aulora Kelly sat cross-legged on the carpeted floor of her master bedroom. She sipped the sweet liquid from her wine glass as she stared blankly at the eight bridesmaid dresses that hung in the back of her closet. Each dress was a different color, length, and style; each one of them was worn in different weddings and receptions across the United states; and all of them were completely and utterly hideous. The young woman often wondered why some women picked out the ugliest dresses for their bridesmaids to wear; maybe it was done on purpose so that the bride would look better in comparison. Aulora also often found herself wondering why she had yet to dispose of these dresses. After all, it wasn't like they were ever going to see the light of day. She sighed and downed the rest of the wine in two large gulps when she realized that another dress would be added to her collection before the week was over.

"Well, at least the dress Nicole picked out for you guys isn't too bad," Cynthia Kelly's voice rang through the air, breaking the peaceful silence. "It's actually pretty cute. And don't you think it's a little early to be drinking? It's nearly five in the morning." Aulora simply shrugged and ignored her mother's comments as she reached for the bottle of Moscato that sat on her nightstand and poured herself another glass. As soon as she'd woken up from her usual post-work nap at one o'clock, Aulora had been wide awake and energized. She took the few hours that she had left, before it would be time for her to hop in a taxi and head to the airport, to finish packing anything she'd missed the first time around. Her suitcases were filled to capacity, as usual; everyone knew that Aulora wasn't one to pack lightly. Stunning pantsuits, dresses, skirts, blouses, and heels were neatly placed into her bags, ready to be shown off in Las Vegas.

"This is only my second glass, Ma," Lora said, taking one more sip before standing from her seat on the floor and sliding her feet into the sandals that lay next to her bed. Before her mother could say anything more, Aulora quickly told her that her taxi would arrive shortly and that she had to finish a bit of last minute packing. "I'll see you at the wedding, love you." She ended the call before her mother could get in another word. As soon as her mother's face had disappeared from her screen, Aulora tossed her phone onto her bed and continued shoving unnecessary, miscellaneous items into her bags. Within the next couple of hours, the young woman would find herself sitting comfortably in the first class section of an airplane.

The five hour flight from New York City to Las Vegas was a bit of a blur for Aulora Kelly; as soon as she realized that she'd be travelling in first class, she made sure to order the finest white wine the stewardess had to offer. She even got a snack to soak up all of the alcohol she'd consumed so that she wouldn't be totally fucked up when she arrived at her destination. Soon, Aulora Kelly was in the back of yet another taxi, slowly making her way to the Seara Resort.

"Holy shit, this is beautiful," Aulora spoke aloud as she peered out of the backseat window, her nose slightly pressed against the glass. Out of all of the weddings she has had the pleasure of being a part of, none of them had been held in Vegas. As the car made its way down the busy roads, Aulora gasped and let out several "oohs" and "ahs" of excitement and wonder as she took in her surroundings. She wasn't even angry that they'd been stuck in traffic; she was used to it after living in New York City, and it gave her even more time to sightsee. The taxi driver chuckled and shook his head at the woman who occupied his back seat. By the time the taxi had arrived at the resort, Aulora had a gallery full of pictures she'd taken on the journey. She'd even made a few mental notes of places she wanted to visit while she was there, a weed dispensary being at the top of her list.

With the help of the bellhop, Aulora carried her luggage to the front desk where she was greeted by a Hispanic, older man. After giving her name, the young woman watched as he typed away on his computer. Within a few seconds, he'd found what he was looking for and informed her of where she'd be staying for the next few days. "Reservation of 8 Sake Suites by Nicole Seara," the man read from the screen. After checking in, Aulora followed the bellhop to the elevator and checked her phone as they were lifted up to her floor. She must have been too busy snapping photos in the cab to notice that she'd received a message from Cole informing the wedding party that she'd arrived.

"Thanks a bunch," Lora said to the bellhop after he'd rolled the heavy cart into her suite, "I'll take it from here." She fished around her purse for a few moments before pulling out a wrinkled ten dollar bill and placing it into the young man's hand. As soon as the door had closed behind him, however, Aulora let out a quick, high-pitched squeal and began making her way around the lush suite. The first place she checked out was the master bedroom; without hesitation, the woman ran and jumped onto the large bed, landing face first on one of the pillows. Yeah, she was definitely going to enjoy these upcoming few days.

After laying in the same position for a few minutes, Aulora rolled over onto her back and pulled out her cell phone once more. She sent a quick text to Cole, letting her know that she had made it without any problems and that she was very much in love with the suite. She stared at the message for a brief moment, debating on whether or not she wanted to go and visit the bride-to-be in her own suite, but ultimately decided against it. She wanted to let her old friend have a few moments to herself; she was probably exhausted from her flight. Instead, Aulora hopped out of bed and made a beeline for the main living room. "Holy shit," Lora said for what seemed to be the hundredth time that day once she caught sight of the enormous television and pool table. The woman would go on to spend a considerable amount of her time playing a solo game of 8-ball.
