『 Yine / 20 / Female 』 ╚════════════════════════════╝
"You're only in trouble if you get caught."
『 Inventory 』
a collection of keys she has pilfered over the last couple of years
a pouch containing an assortment of keepsakes from the cities she visited, and trinkets left unclaimed or unsold after a job
an anthology of short stories from different nations, translated in Yine; Saiya uses it for character inspiration
two suspiciously high-grade daggers; received from the troupe as part of her cut
『 Appearance 』
Morning, troupe performer Kisa is vastly different from nighttime, thieving Saiya. During the day, when the troupe is set up with a scripted stage play or a dance performance, Kisaiya spares no effort in her visage. She keeps her hair sleek and paints her lips red and wears ornate clothes that accentuate her best features. Part of the job is to lure people in, and she found that men and women will flock around pretty things.
When her day job's done and the troupe has closed up their tents, Saiya dresses more comfortably and less ostentatiously: breeches and boots, a loose-fitting blouse. The troupe doesn't begin their more illicit affairs (the one where people pay them to steal things; or the one where they pay themselves to take from the obviously, the unfairly affluent to redistribute the wealth a bit) until long past sunset. When that time comes, Saiya dons a wig, mask, and a cloak to hide her identity.
『 Personality 』
Willful, curious, with a rebellious streak; there was never a chance for a wildfire like Saiya in quiet, rainy Yine. Due to years of being restricted and controlled, Saiya's pent-up desires for freedom and sense of self had all but exploded during her adolescence, shaping her into the whim-driven maverick (one with a habit of rushing headlong into thrilling situations without an ounce of foresight) that she is today. If before she was forced to live for god and country, now she lives only for herself. Saiya seeks to experience the world as fully as she can, and will do so in her own terms.
Half of the reason she was taken in by a traveling entertainment troupe was her personal magnetism; Saiya leaves an impression, whether it's a good one or not. The other half was because she was very clearly the foolhardy type--those types make for good thieves.
『 Short Biography 』
Saiya was born to two of the most devout of Lugia's followers. Her father was once a renowned samurai, while her mother was among those who guide new shrine maidens and oversee their surprisingly intensive training. When they had Saiya after being unable to conceive for nearly a decade, they believed that she was a gift from Lugia, sent to them for one purpose: to serve and spread its stories.
Suffice it to say, the environment Saiya grew up in was that of a zealot's. Her earliest memories were of pilgrimages to various shrines, endless days of reading and memorizing verses, and kneeling in prayer for so long that she'd lose all feeling of her legs and feet. Saiya was seven when she gained enough presence of mind to know this life wasn't for her. She started rebelling then. First in small, quiet ways like not actually saying prayers but daydreaming about traveling the world instead. Then in bigger, louder ways the more she grew to resent the cage she was in, often by disobeying direct orders from her parents.
Her acts of rebellion were met with stricter regiments being enforced, which were then rebutted with even more defiance. It was a neverending cycle that only continually bred resentment on both sides. Through it all, Saiya's saving grace had been her partner-in-crime (more literally than she knew then), and her best friend: Captain, her Ditto. They first met during one of her attempts to run away, Ditto had been a curious Fletchling following her around with marked interest. The second time, she'd been tied to a post and forced to reflect on her actions; Ditto had been a Minccino and kept her company for the three hours she was there. It was on the fifth time that Saiya finally connected the dots and realized that all those Pokemon that had been with her through shenanigans and punishments alike had been one and the same.
Captain stuck by her as she performed her final act of rebellion at the age of fifteen: getting exiled. Ever since then, they'd been inseparable. They traveled out in the world for the first time together and got into trouble countless times in countless cities. After nearly starving to death, they got taken in by a traveling troupe and learned how to perform for money. Later on, they found out that their traveling troupe had a lucrative side-gig. They learned that too.
In its true form, Captain doesn't have any striking features that would help one differentiate it from other Dittos (even though Saiya swears Cap is a lot cuter). When transformed into other Pokemon, Saiya has noticed that there would be very subtle amethyst flecks in its eyes when under the right light. She used to rely on that as a tell, but nowadays she can pick Captain out of a crowd anywhere.
Ditto is only in its true form when alone with Saiya. Most of the time, it cycles between transforming to Fletchling (often when they need a scout or look out), Minccino (for when it wants to perch on Saiya's shoulder or to keep her warm), and Klefki (for espionage and general purloining).
Aside from three forms it's completely used to, Captain needs to be looking at its target when transforming, otherwise it tends to add a little creative flourish that more observant people or Pokemon can easily spot as a tell.
『 Personality 』
Stalwart, curious, adaptive, and a big worrywart. Captain is a funny mix of best friend who will do anything and everything with you, and doting, worried mom who will check on you every couple of seconds. Captain prioritizes Saiya's wellbeing first and foremost and is usually the one considering the consequences of the actions they take.

》 𝖠𝖯𝖯𝖤𝖠𝖱𝖠𝖭𝖢𝖤: 155 cm || 42 kg || amber eyes || blonde hair
Izzie is impish grins and sparkling eyes and crying-laughing emoji embodiment rolled into a fun-sized package with pretty hair. She dresses comfortably, often in short shorts (with thigh highs or tights when it's cold) that help make her legs seem long even though she's tiny. Her criteria is basically 'cute without too much effort.' Her hair is a different story, though. For someone who's usually so nonchalant about everything, the care that she puts in her hair is a striking exception. Izzie spends most of her early morning routine styling her hair, and makes sure she never has her hair the same two days in a row.

Izzie is like a puppy; it's not a difficult connection to make. Enthusiastic is her default state and she takes on the world with a certain joie de vivre that probably exasperates cynics to no end. She likes to laugh with her whole body and smile so wide it hurts and would shamelessly invade personal boundaries so she can playfully pounce on you. It doesn't take much to get her excited or pumped up, and she has energy to spare. If she did have a tail, it would be wagging nonstop. Unflinching loyalty is perhaps one of her most puppy-like qualities: she does anything and everything for friends, even more for family, no questions asked. It doesn't matter if you're in the wrong or when the going gets tough; she'll stick by you through thick and thin, and will share the blame or the burden if need be.
Jaunty and a little reckless, there are times when she needs reminding that life isn't fun and games all the time.

To Izzie, her grandparents are more like grand parents, as in they're grand for raising and caring for her ever since her dad passed away. She still has a mom somewhere out there making loads of money, but her mom valued her high-profile career too much to upend it for her daughter. Instead, she sends Izzie expensive birthday and holiday gifts and takes care of whatever she needs financially.
Izzie has no complaints. Her incredibly doting grandparents constantly spoiled her with their affections, and they let her express herself however she wanted—drawing on walls, playing drums (terribly), writing totally incoherent short stories that she made them reenact. They laughed at her dumb jokes and supported her when she finally found her passion for singing. If Izzie were to sum up her childhood, it would be as one full of endless laughter.
There was very little Izzie took seriously, but her singing was one of them. She worked hard to hone her craft, and joined any contents and talent shows she could, all the while encouraged by her grandparents. By the time she was in high school, she was a certified Youtube star, on the brink of fame although she paid little mind to that. All she cared about was spreading joy with catchy pop ditties that make people dance and sing out loud.
The Whisper called upon her during one of her live performances, whisking her away into a quiet, subdued world and greeting her with a song completely different from her own. An Elegy would have done away with her right then, before she would have had a chance to manifest her crown, if it weren't for her ever-stalwart grandmother and apparently Crown of Serendipity, saving her butt yet again.

The Crown of Joy seeks to drown out the Elegies' melancholic melodies with its own ebullient tunes, and finds nothing more rewarding than sharing its song with allies. After all, nothing sparks joy better than music.
F IS FOR FRIENDS WHO DO STUFF TOGETHER. [AoE] Affects anyone who can hear it. Izzie sings an upbeat melody that invigorates the listener and raises their physical attack power. Its effects are contingent on how many people are listening at the same time—the more listening, the stronger they get.
U IS FOR YOU AND ME. [Support] Izzie serenades a person with a love song that heals their wounds. For now, only works on one target at a time.
N IS FOR ANYWHERE AND ANYTIME AT ALL. [Support] Izzie sings a ballad that generates a force field around her and anyone within a certain radius. The force field only lasts as long as she's singing, but each note takes a toll on her. This one requires a lot of focus, and the force field can easily vanish if she gets distracted.
SIREN SONG. Izzie sings a mesmerizing song that lures Elegies to her. Can also be used on humans for crowd control.

The Crown of Joy seemed to have taken cues from Izzie's own cutesy stage persona (except turned up several notches), giving her a fairy-like visage. The crown itself manifests as two feathery ornaments adorning her hair, which is changed into a pastel pink color.
Caw was remarkable, she thought, not for the first time. It wasn't difficult to pick up on his peculiar way of speaking, as though he'd ripped out phrases and words from pages of different books and pieced them together to make pages of his own. More than once, Rhaeyla had thought of simply blurting out all the words she could think of at the moment, to add to Caw's word bank, but it hadn't seemed right to do so.
"I've only ever seen the ones at home," Rhaeyla said, eyes darting up as she tried to imagine how their modest orchard had looked. She leaned close to Caw and spoke in a more hushed tone, almost conspiratorially. "When I was little, I would hide there and it would take the chief hours to find me. There were endless rows of apple and cherry trees and I would weave in and out of them so I could lose whoever was chasing me. I thought I could hide there forever!"
Even before Sebastian conveyed that these orchards were fortuitously along the way, Rhaeyla would have told Caw with certainty that, yes, they would be able to go. She would have found a way.
As they pressed on, Rhaeyla busied herself looking over her world map, reading and reading all the little notes she had scribbled on the back. She had refused to take Sebastian's place on his mount, if only to give her more to do. Their relaxed pace had allowed her more time and opportunity to marvel at her surroundings, true, but with the promise of beautiful orchards and flower fields within her grasp, her restlessness began to stir.
Luckily, the first of the apple trees came to view in time to slake her growing impatience. Rhaeyla turned to Caw excitedly, looking like a child who'd been given permission to gobble up a whole cake. "There it is, there it is!" she told him, pointing wildly at the fecund lands even though there was clearly no need to.
Whoever this Madam Honeydew was must really have been blessed, to have such a green thumb. The fruits were the most tantalizing she'd ever seen, and the flowers, oh, the fields of flowers were something out of a painting. It was almost like every imaginable type of flower existed there, all at once, creating a harmony of colors. If circumstances were different and the twins weren't in a mission to get to Greenrest, she would have liked to try and capture the sight in her sketchbook.
Rhaeyla settled for pressing a flower as a memento instead. Madam Honeydew wouldn't mind if she just took one, she reasoned. Excusing herself momentarily, she ran up to the first flower that caught her eye: a small pale yellow one with almost heart-shaped petals. She picked it short, getting rid of the stem completely, and gingerly placed it in between the last pages of her sketchbook. It needed to be a heavier book, but it would have to do.
With a gratified grin, Rhaeyla pulled out her world map and a pen. After taking another moment to take the beauty of the sight in, she drew a line through her to-do list item.
❀ Visit the orchard
One done, hundreds to go.
Rhaeyla scampered back to see what Caw was up to with a renewed sense of purpose. Greenrest was next, and she felt in her soul that she would find answers there. She would find her there.
@CollectorOfMyst Rhaeyla got a 13 for her nature check. Does any specific flower stick out to her, perhaps?
And btw, yay, would appreciate some info about tools! I'd been trying to look up what things could be done with the Painter's Supplies, but couldn't scrounge up much.
@Vertigo Working on a post! Sorry for the delay, been a bit busy recently. Also d'aww, Rhaeyla knows it's futile but she will do her darndest to help Caw if he does attempt that.
Rhaeyla would probably want to pick a flower to press (which, uh, here's hoping there's nothing too suspicious about them out-of-climate flowers, haha) and do like a speed paint of the view, if there's time. What is everyone else doing?
