Alicia watched the concentration on Michael’s face, the beads of sweat, his deft hands working to pull the torn tissue together and the golden glow as the skin was healed. It was amazing. Eventually, when the skin was pink and new he said “there, done. Get her back to camp and put her in the hospital. The third bunk from the end on the left should be open”.
Alicia helped Sebastian lift Iria and they began to make their way back to camp. While they walked, she thought about what had happened; why her? “Well that was fun, eh?” she said to Sebastian. “What a mess... I have no idea what they wanted with me either! One of the bears said he wants me dead or alive... Who? Why would anyone want me particularly? I hate that Iria and Nicholas got hurt because of me...” she trailed off, feeling too confused and upset to continue.
When they got back to camp, they left Iria in the hospital bunk that Michael had requested. Alicia thanked Sebastian for his help, gave Iria’s limp body a quick hug and went to bed, knowing she would need to be ready for capture the flag tomorrow. She wanted to win.
The next morning Alicia ached real bad. The son of Apollo might have great healing skills but even he couldn’t heal exhaustion. She changed into her training clothes and grabbed a quick bite to eat before a quick yoga session to stretch out her aching muscles. When she was ready she grabbed her bow and quiver just in time to hear Chiron call everyone over. She headed down to the edge of the lake with everyone else.
Her team consisted of Sebastian, Michael, Iria and Dover. “Who’s going to take the lead on this one?” Michael asked, suggesting he take the high ground.
“I think two of us should go for the flag” Alicia suggested. “I’m the only one of us with a bow who can run and shoot simultaneously I think? So maybe I go along side someone, they grab the flag while I cover?” Alicia loved running through the trees. She was a hunter and her instincts would help her find her enemy. She could transfer this skill to cover someone else, but she wasn’t particularly interested in capturing the flag for herself.
