I'm interested in doing a sci-fi racing RP. I've wanted to do one for a good while now, ever since I watched the movie Redline. Here's a trailer for everyone who've never heard of it before, or AMV. I'd love to do an RP that's as insane and cool with plenty of action, but still has a human element to it. Maybe the characters were inspired by celebrities in older races when they were kids. Maybe it's their only way to live a good life with hopes for the future. I do like Furious 6 & 7, but this would be a lot more sci-fi.

I have two plot suggestions for now, but I'd be interested in hearing suggestions for changes or other ideas for something different.

Plot #1
The characters are contestants in the most popular racing event on the planet (or galaxy). They're celebrities, and even rolemodels to some. It's a tournament that costs a lot of racers their lives, but the glory and prices are considered worth the risk. The teams and companies that have invested in the competition are cutthroat, willing to do anything for their side to win.

Plot #2
The characters are living in a cyberpunk society, which is extremely crowded and people don't have much freedom. One of the few ways to let loose and make a living is by joining street races. The government tends to not care much about these street races, but still clamp down on them every now and then to set an example.

My expectations are the same as for my main interest check.
- I'm an Advanced to high casual/casual writer. I want a partner on that level.
- I only want FxF.
- I prefer female partners. It doesn't mean I'm against male partners, but don't come to me with an attitude or no experience roleplaying female characters.
- I would be able to post a couple of times a week at least, unless I get busy but I would tell any partner in that case. I'd expect the same back.
- I love mature themes. Romance is better than smut though.
- I didn't want to do this, but due to a large amount of people clearly not reading my rules/expectations. Write the word Cheshire at some point in your PM to state that you've read and understood my expectations.
- I love rivalries between the characters in the beginning, or something similar that keeps them apart. I've found 1x1s tend to work better that way.
- I like discussing plots, settings and characters. I would want a partner that actually contributes to such discussion.
- I'm not a fan of playing canon characters.
- Anything dark and brutal is probably right up my alley.
- If you've joined the same week or have a small post count, you start the RP and write the first post. I've dealt with way too many new people ditching after I started an RP.
- I've no interest at all in driving a plot forward alone while my partner just reacts.
- I'd be interested in hearing ideas or suggestions for each of the suggested settings.

PM if interested.

Second version.

The majority of my characters have short character sheets. This will mainly be for the longer ones. I might be interested in doing 1x1s with them.

Nope, it doesn't interest me. I'd rather spend the time reading a book or doing something else.
Private Elise Louque

Elise turned to look at the man, raising an eyebrow. Was this another private with no understanding of who should and shouldn’t give orders in the army? After being recruited by a PFC, it wouldn’t surprise her in the slightest. What kind of squad had she been thrown into?

“Your bad hearing is not my problem.” She finally said, addressing his second issue. “I’d suggest you get it checked out though. I never said I’d go alone. In fact, I specifically asked for other snipers. Nor did I mention leaving the building. Besides, I’m a sniper. I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of the concept before, but we do get specialized training.”

The poor man had probably been too close to one explosion too many, or taken a hit to the head he shouldn’t have. She didn’t want to make fun of him in front of his squad, but he’d started it. They definitely would have a problem with each other from now on though, his decision, because she wasn’t one to forgive.

“Sorry, my bad.” Elise said, ignoring the man and turning to her sergeant to offer her hand. “My name is Elise Louque. It’s my first time in the field, so this is all a bit overwhelming for me.” It was hopefully a good enough excuse that they’d believe her.
Kunzite half-expected Peridot to enter the cell with her at one point when she stepped forward. The other gem didn’t seem to be in a good mood. Peridot changed her mind pretty quickly though, perhaps realizing that she needed some kind of weapon if she wanted to exert her anger on Kunzite. Clearly she couldn’t put up much of a fight either way, and she almost told her to go find some more gems to assist her if she wanted to beat Kunzite further into the ground than she already had.

She noticed Peridot’s hands shaking. It was the first time she’d seen the gem show any physical signs that all of this was getting to her. Kunzite should feel content, this was what she’d been trying to do since they’d met, but all she felt was sorry for her. A strange pity. Could it be that Peridot was as much of a prisoner as Kunzite? Only in a figurative prison, where the cell was built from social norms and expectations that the gems in Homeworld put on her. Did she genuinely want to do any of this, or was she blindly following orders?

The lie Kunzite was told gave her the impression that she might have stumbled on something resembling a truth with her new way of looking at Peridot. She didn’t know what to say in response. There was a thought telling her to ask if Peridot was getting old and feeble, but she didn’t voice it. Besides, they were both old by the lifespans of other species.

She scoffed when Peridot explained her situation to her. “Why would I want…” On second thought, if she was alive there was still a chance she may escape. It may be very small, but it was larger than the odds she faced if she didn’t at least begin to pretend that she was co-operating. They definitely would have her gem smashed publically. She was surprised that they hadn’t already done it actually.

“What’s your part in all of this?” Kunzite asked, having changed her mind about openly showing that she would be unrepentant until her death. Maybe if she made nice with Peridot she could use her to escape Homeworld. Maybe she could convince her that she was wrong, that the diamonds were evil, as impossible as it may sound to convince someone who’d been brainwashed for so long.

“If I accept your offer, do we get to spend more time together? I don’t have any friends on Homeworld anymore, and it would be a pleasure to get to know you better.” Kunzite batted her eyelashes, figuring she’d overdone it, but it had been very easy to get under Peridot’s skin with snide remarks so far. She was curious whether flattery would work just as well. “Fine, I accept.” Not that she had much choice if she didn’t want to give up.
Private Elise Louque

“Border guarding…?” The man who’d asked them if they’d seen any action clearly didn’t understand what Elise had meant. “Uh no, more like invasion of other’s territory, and liberation of captive women.” She laughed, doubting he would understand what she meant with that.

Elise got the feeling that the Lancer was the most experienced of the four of them that were new. The man repulsed her with his macho bragging and crude innuendo, but it wasn’t much of a surprise. She almost made another comment about what a shame it was some people were still alive, but in his direction instead of the darcsen’s. Doing so might get her a reputation for wishing her comrades dead though, so instead she made a disgusted face. If anyone asked she’d blame it on the APC, not that motion sickness bothered her. Elise didn’t back down when the Darcsen stared into her eyes. What a cocky darcsen, she thought as a scornful grin appeared across her lips, someone needs to humble you. Her response felt like a direct challenge to Elise, but for now she’d do nothing.

Elise wasn’t sure what to think of the speech the man that had recruited her did. It was inspirational and did make her want to kill the imperials, but at the same time she feared he might accidentally hit or land on her if the APC moved too much. She didn’t have any question at that time, not any she wanted to voice anyway.

The day got worse when she was introduced to her new sergeant, another damn darcsen. Was this some kind of family meeting for their kind? How many more darcsens would there be in this squad? She really regretted not sneaking away back at the base now, even if she would have ended up in trouble for disobeying orders. The worst part was when her new sergeant said that the man who had recruited her was just a PFC. That wasn’t high enough to order her around, was it!? Unfortunately, Sergeant probably was.

Elise didn’t know what to do. She stood motionless for a moment, trying to gather her thoughts. It would be quite a walk to get back to base. “Is there any other snipers around?” She finally asked, not bothering with pleasantries on darcsens. “Would you mind if I scouted the nearby area for any good vantage points?” It would give her time alone, hopefully, so she could make up her mind and no one would wonder about her whereabouts for a while.
Things like then - than, to - too. Some spelling in the previous post.
