Armor/Clothing: A plain cotton tunic stained with dust, blood and grime, and a similarly blemished scarf which sometimes act as a hood. Wears black trousers and cloth shoes.

Weapons/Inventory: A set of knives, a water canteen, some change of clothes.

Skills/Abilities: An expert knife thrower with quick arm reflexes and nimble fingers. Flexible and agile, she is very skilled in acrobats, and is particularly capable of performing parkours.

History: Nadya and her family were members of a troupe of travelling performers based in Remes. Nadya had been trained in gymnastics almost immediately after she'd learn to walk, and, by her ringmaster's recommendation, she began to learn knife-throwing when she was eleven.

Her combination of acrobats and knife-throwing made her performance unique and awe-inspiring, and Nadya was hailed as the star of the troupe. But the happy times did not last long, since, in just a few months after her rise to stardom, the plague struck the lands, killing more than half of the troupe - including Nadya's parents and her youngest sister. The decline of resources halted demands for performers, and the troupe was forced to disband. The remaining members went on separate ways - some even trying to flee to other kingdoms. Nadya herself followed her ringmaster to Sulture, while her two remaining siblings left for Westmarch with some other performers.

But things never got better. The Plague had spread throughout the lands, and with little opportunities for making money, the two started to loot and steal for a living - as many other has done. Competition for resources escalated, and the ringmaster was killed during a brawl over some spilled grain. Now left alone, Nadya travelled to Westmarch, hoping to reunite with her younger siblings. She managed to find her brother by pure chance, and learnt from him that their other sister had also fallen from the plague - as had their foster families. Unfortunately, this reunion was interrupted by Blightlord's invasion. Nadya managed to use her agility escape, but she was forced to abandon her brother in the process, and his final cry as he was ravaged and devoured by the demons haunted her until this day.

Personality: Lucerne is a warm-hearted individual who gets along quite easily with others; but, being fickle and carefree, she has difficulty forming deeper relationships with anyone, as she dislikes being tied down by the commitment and responsibilities that comes with it. Very straightforward in expressing her opinions, she can appear very disrespectful or insensitive at times, but will quickly apologize if she realized she's gone too far. She is also very curious and likes to try out new things, but dislikes having to learn through conventional means.

Exp:
A. Lucerne have lived alone in the jungles for decades, where the only interactions she had was with the wild animals that live there. At first, their relationships were a hostile one, but as she began to refine her psychic powers, she was able to understand the animals better, and started to bond with them. Over time, she was able to make them completely submit to her.
B. Growing up in the mountainous areas of Vrondi, Lucerne spent many of her childhood days observing majestic eagles soar through the skies, and one day decided that she wanted to do the same - after all, she has wings too, and there's no reason why she can't do the things that those birds do. While her parents weren't looking, she jumped of the cliffs to imitate the birds, and through trial-and-error, she managed to master her flying capabilities. When she grew older, her family sent her to the capital to study and train her Sol powers. Lucerne remained in the school for about 2 years to learn the basics, before growing tired of the rigid education system, and dropped out to practice on her own in the wilderness.
C. Lucerne does not have any combat training, nor can she use any weapons.
D. While wandering in her forest home, she encountered a group of travellers who had unknowingly entered the territory of a wolf pack. Because it was breeding season, the wolves were more aggressive than usual, and they ambushed the men. Lucerne intervened, and calmed the wolves down, preventing them from attacking. The people she had saved turned out to be members of the Taxis, who were patrolling the jungle to look for a group of refugees who had come from Nero. Through Lucerne's communication with the forest animals, the group managed to find the refugees and take them to safety, and Lucerne was invited to join the guild afterwards.
E. Lucerne first knew about the spell from her mother, who had used it to heal her after she jumped off the cliffs and got herself severely injured when she was 5. She learnt the basic steps of energy manipulation in her school, and practised her skills while living in the forest - during which she had healed injured animals to win their trust.

Spells:
* Catalytic Radiance: Uses the energy absorbed from plants to greatly enhance the speed of cell reparation, causing injuries to heal much faster.

Abilities/Powers:
* Flight (Dragon wings)
* Strong affinity to both animals and plants.

Hindrances:
* She cannot use her magic when there is insufficient light, rendering her near defenceless, as she has little to no combat abilities.
* Vulnerable to cold, her battle effectiveness is reduced by 50% at temperatures below 4 degrees Celcius.

Unknown Weaknesses:
* Lucerne is completely incapable of swimming and will almost immediately freeze over and drown if the water reaches neck-level.
* She is so used to flying that her leg muscles are extremely poor. A few minutes of walking or running is enough to injure her feet.

Weapons: She carries an ornate spear, given by her parents when she left for the capital. She doesn't actually know how to use it, though.

History: Lucerne's father was a half-dragon scholar who has an unhealthy obsession for his studies on the Ascension, and believes that the Hybrids and Sols are ultimately destined to Ascend into deities. His wife, Lucerne's mother, shared this belief, and although she is a talented healer, she purposely kept herself from becoming a member of the Taxis, for fear that such affiliation may bound her to the world and prevent her from Ascending. Their free-spirited way of parenting developed Lucerne to be the person she is right now.

He imparted to me many of his knowledge, though, while it had been truly inspiring, I was more interested in the spiritual knowledge the people here are so dedicated to in learning. Father had disapproved my decision to learn onmyodo, but he eventually relented after some time....."

"To seek pardon. The feudal lord of our district, Lord Izumo, hired father to treat his ailing son; but, in an unfortunate blunder, he accidentally killed him instead, and Lord Izumo decreed for my father to be executed... I pleaded for his mercy - I said that I would do anything, if only his Lordship would let him go. Surprisingly, Lord Izumo had agreed, and he tasked me to Commit Sudoku, in exchange for his leniency......"

This has caught my interest.What's the setting of the world, time-wise? Is it in a time with castles and knights and all that, or similar to Indiana Jones, or are things like Borderlands style?

I was thinking of a Desert Punk setting. I don't play Borderlands, but from what I see in the screenshots, it's should be something more or less the same.
