This is a system created my by friend who used to be named Geyter. He got this from a friend whom I have no idea who he was. But it works so here it goes.
IntroductionOne Piece is a Shounen that involves many different aspects of combat in their world. You have Devil Fruits, Haki, Fighting styles, and many other skills that give rise to some very awesome characters. Ichiru Oda has done a great job of creating varying characters with a vast array of skills and abilities unique to them. Usually, these things would be set as abilities with a list of techniques, that are strengthened by some sort of something, to determine strength. In this system, The Stat System as I like to call it, these determining factors are Stats and Techniques(will be referred to as Techs from here on out).
What are Stats?Stats are what you would normally call abilities or talents. They are descriptions of the powers, fighting styles, or non-combat talents that a character possesses. However, it goes much deeper than that. A Stat is anything that makes your character special. It is not just the devil fruit you hold or the fighting style you have. It is that super sturdy Skeleton body Brook has that can take a huge beating and not break. It is that amazing sword that Dracule Mihawk wields. It is the ability for Luffy to be super strong and eat a hell of a lot of food. Stats are anything you make them to be and they must detail all of the strengths and all of the weaknesses.
What is a Tech?Techs are every possible way you use your ability. Every punch, kick, shade step, etc is a Tech and each tech is a direct application of some Stat that you have created.
How is this different from any other System then? The uniqueness and also the complicated part of this system is understanding how to formulate your character she and how techs work.
Techs are divided into three categories: Health, Skill, and Focus.
Health: Techs which fall under the Health category are any techs that primarily deal damage, used to defend yourself from damage, to show strength, to heal and anything dealing with the body.
Skill: Techs which fall under the Skill category are any techs that deal with speed, evasion, rapid attacks, and anything that takes...well "skill" to perform.
Focus: Techs which fall under the Focus category are anything that does not necessarily take energy to perform. Projectile control, shape manipulation, reaction, enhanced senses, mind....things, etc.
Every Tech will always fall into one of these categories. Also, each tech will only do ONE THING. If you need any help determining, please ask Me for I will guide you to the promise land.
Now for the part that will also be confusing: Stacking.
Awwww More Shit!!! What is Stacking!!Stacking is how you build up your Techs in order to make them capable of destroying the world.....maybe. Think of this as the measuring stick for how strong of your Techs are.
Stacking is when you evolve a Tech as you go. Each time you stack onto a Tech, you make it more versatile while still being capable of using the older versions as they are.
Can you shows meh? Here is an Example with our good friend Portgas D Ace.
Example Stat:Mera Mera No Mi: Ace ate the logia class devil fruit, the Mera Mera no Mi, and is now a fire man. This fruit gives him the power to generate endless fire, become fire at will to avoid physical attacks, and control/manipulate the fire he creates however he pleases. Essentially, Ace is literally made of fire. The drawbacks are that he cannot control fire he has not created and turning into fire must be forced on and not something that just happens. If caught off guard, Ace can be damaged. Lastly, like all devil fruit users, if submerged into sea water, he will lose all ability to move or do anything but think and, Seastone/Karoseki cancels out his devil abilities altogether.
*This is what I will be looking for in your Stat description. When you create your Stat, please include everything you want it to have and be detailed enough so that it's clear what he or she can do. Please list drawbacks as well. Also, every Stat's name should be colored a different color. That means if you have seven Stats, you should have 7 different colored Stats.*Example TechsFlame Fist [Health]: A punch with a fiery fist.
*The Tech, as you see, has a few things to note. First is that the tech does a single action. All techs do one single action and as you stack onto it, it becomes more versatile. Single Techs are called base Techs because they are the root of expansive skill tree you are going to create from it. Next, you see that I put the type of tech it is next to its name. This does two things. First, it helps keep track of what kind of Techs you have created and, the second is so as you stack onto it, you know how strong the skill is. This punch does one Health worth of damage. Last, the Tech and Tech type are colored the same color as the Stat that it is linked with. This is for uniformity and consistency. *Now we stack onto the first Tech.
Flame Fist [Health]:Fire Fist [2Health]: A stronger punch with an bigger fiery fist.
*This right here, is where people normally fall off the deep end. When you stack onto another Tech, you either make the move stronger or give it a new property to do different things with. Also, to further show how it is a stack, I indented the new tech. Last, I noted that the new Tech is now worth 2 Health points and does 2 Health worth of damage.*Here is another example of what can happen.
Flame Fist[Health]: Fast Flame Fist [Health + Skill]: A fiery punch with a zip to it.
*This version comes off of the base tech, Flame Fist, as well. You can have multiple versions of the same move, if you want.*Those are the basics but there is one last thing to talk about.
FatigueFatigue is what keeps people from spamming Techs of supreme destruction. It is a trade off. Fatigue comes into play when a person has a Tech with 3 or more Health or Skill points in it. The application of fatigue is simple math. If a person has a total of 7 Tech points in Health and uses a 3 Health Tech, then once the Health tech is used, said person has 4 Tech points of Health left to use moves. That means the person can only use the 3 Health Tech 2 times before they hinder them selves to only one health tech moves. This keeps the feel of over exerting yourself in a fight and allows for strategic application.
