Aaah poor Taerys!
Odd hobby, but good enough!
Everyone needs a hobby \o/
Jackdaw regarded the Varyx for a moment, craning her head just enough to meet Taerys's eyes with her own. Perhaps before her operation she might have concerned herself more about the standing feud between their races, but as it stood, the Varaxian's girl's spite was nothing more to her than an assertion of power. To her, while they were on the team, race was worth what it would buy you on the battlefield, and not a penny more. Maybe that's why she'd undergone the surgery? Humans were, in comparison to many races, quite weak.

"I don't think things would change too drastically, Varus. If you kicked it, I'd gladly lead in your memory," Jackdaw said, turning her head fully to Taerys, There was challenge in her eyes, but it was contained, as if she wasn't directly addressing her. "Just as I'm sure Taerys would gladly follow."

Human, Varyx, Litharian, it didn't matter to her. She wasn't on the Argent Dawn to spark racial feuds just as much as she wasn't on it to resolve them. She had one goal; the top, and if Taerys presented any kind of obstacle, for any reason, Jackdaw was not going to back down from it.
But the perks, Gunner! You have the fancy accent! The tea! The Queen!
Jackdaw was content to let Dresden deal with Rennac. She was a bit dismayed to hear the wolfen would be joining on the ground team, but then again she was fairly sure the guy was going to get himself killed. Not that she was going to try and usher in that possibility, she wasn't a monster, she just had a low tolerance for his type.

She strolled back over near Varus, hoping to hurry out the remaining time. She nudged his side with her foot, looking out to the hangar. "Glad to see you didn't lose the ship while we were away," she said. "And you're in one piece, look who's all responsible."

Perhaps she and the captain weren't "best friends", but out of the whole crew, he was perhaps the easiest to be around next to Teeth. He fit the role well, struck her as the "leader" type. At the very least, he was respectable, and that was the most important thing.
Ah, well still, love the design!
Dude that is one awesome picture, did you draw that?
In a moment, the predatory glare in her eyes vanished, replaced by a half-lidded disappointment. "Oh, you're a techie. Not my problem. Thanks but you can hold on to your dossier, I don't have doubts about your abilities, I just have no expectations yet at all. The things you used to do only matter until you get on here," she said,

She turned herself at the mention of her nodes, the bored gaze snapping back to attention. "And listen, I'm property of the Alliance, and the Argent Dawn, only person with permission to tinker with me is Varus."

Jackdaw had needed to be very adamant about that with a few of the technicians before, and this guy was setting off every trouble-alarm in her head. Then again, if push came to shove and she needed to assert herself on the situation, she'd at least get to let off some steam. Truth be told she couldn't stand hacker-types, always arrogant as far as she'd encountered, and even if she could level with them on pride, theirs stemmed from anonymity.

When Teeth approached, she lost her tense edge. When she'd first met him she had never seen one of his kind in person, and it through her for a loop. What was even more surprising was that the skeletal dog had the ferocity of a dust bunny. Without a doubt the most amiable person on the ship, nowhere near a problem for her. Plus, he had a habit of playing music in his office, and that always served to raise her spirits when she'd walk by. She offered a smile and a slight nod in greeting.
Jackdaw gave a roll of the eyes to Dresden, though devoid of the venom that would usually accompany such a gesture. Dresden was well aware that she desired no such relationship with her or anyone for that matter, but the other girl still joked, perhaps out of spite. Whatever the case, Dresden wasn't someone she had to worry about overshadowing her, the girl was usually as antisocial as they came, so Jackdaw put up with it, even took part herself every now and then. Couldn't always relieve stress on missions.

When Rennac vanished inside the ship, she cast an exhausted look down at Varus. "Are you serious with this guy?" she asked, though she didn't expect an answer really. The captain's choices were his own, and it wasn't her place to question them. Especially not if she ever wanted to rise up.in the ranks.

Eventually the wolfen man made his way back outside, and this time he looked a bit more presentable, though that doofy air still hung about him, stinging her nose. He offered out a hand, and as much as she might have wanted to ignore him, she figured they'd be working together as long as it took for him to get himself killed. So she played the good girl, shook his hand, nodded to him.

"You aren't. Do you have a name yourself, or will "fresh meat" suffice?" she asked.

Well, she shook his hand at least.
