Jackdaw continued without pause, or heed to Taerys's warning. Her voice dropped a bit, but only just, so she wouldn't need to lean in closer to her.

"He's fine, for now. Ask your new friends if there's anywhere we can stash him," she said.

With that she made her way back to the gate, sliding in beside Rennac and Ryder to help push the gate back open. Whatever these White Ones were, she assumed they would be coming sooner rather than later, and that meant they didn't have any more time for nonsense. If these colonists were going to fight them, or make their mission any more difficult than it already was, there was going to be an issue.
I'm free and wot not
Jackdaw's attention immediately snapped to Taerys as her voice filled the air. At first she guessed trap; voice modifiers weren't terribly uncommon. But then she saw the Varyx, the way she held herself, even beneath the armor she could just imagine that look on her face. No radios? They knew there'd been no radios. She was losing her patience with the other girl, to say the least.

She lowered her rifle, though the colonists' voices only barely registered in her mind. Unimportant, useless she figured if there was actually something there. Not worth the ammo, or the damage she'd sustain. Besides, they hadn't butchered Taerys yet.

"Get the door back open, I shouldn't need to explain why," she snapped at one, and then approached Taerys.

She circled the Varaxian once, like some predator sizing up its meal. "Did you find what brought us down or not."
Jackdaw was through the doorways the moment there was room enough to do so. She whipped her rifle up, taking aim at one of the colonist; for her, the time for tempered paranoia was [i]then[i/].

She scanned through the bodies there, and though she spotted nothing monstrous, that did not mean those inside were friendly. She kept her aim true on the colonist, only slightly glancing off to see if the rest of the group was filing in, though on the outside the red eye kept its focus directly forward. She might have looked like a drone were there light enough to make out the rest of her mechanical form.

"Get in here," she said, directed at the others, though she was still focused directly on the colonist.
Jackdaw waved Six down when Rennac pointed out the door. At this point she figured it would be better if they all went in together rather than feed themselves to whatever was inside in single file.

"Get it done," she said to Rennac, then made her way over to the door and motioned for the others to follow.

She turned her aim back out to the wastes. Just because they knew something was inside didn't mean that there was nothing outside as well. She hoped Rennac was as good as he claimed to be with this stuff, she didn't want to be out in the open any longer than she needed to be.
"Did I or did I not tell you to be quiet?" Jackdaw hissed back at Rennac and Hay as they approached the wall of the colony. "We need to find a way in, or through. If activity picks up in there we're going to drop the subtlety."

Looking up, she knew she could scale the wall easily enough, though not quietly. Besides, if she left the others, she was sure Hay and Varus would be killed, possibly Rennac and Six, and if anything big struck, Ryder would go down with them. The options that left were few, but sure; they had to get inside and get this done. She might even look for whatever was left of Taerys, see if they could bring anything back for a proper burial.

If she was dead, of course.
Jackdaw was already trudging on from the crash site when the flare leapt into the air. Immediately her rifle snapped up to follow it, and then turned its barrel to the wall. Rennac came up and confirmed her suspicions, and she waved him down.

"Quiet," she snapped. "Move, but be quiet. If they're not friendly, they may only know that we're out here, not where we are."

She hunched a bit, and continued on, weapon held tight and aimed out for anything that might be lurking. It wasn't exactly black as pitch yet, but it wouldn't surprise her if something was managing to skulk about undetected.
Jackdaw didn't even hesitate when Rennac approached, snapping her gaze from the distance around to the others. "Read my mind," she said, first to him and then raising her voice to the rest of the group. "Get up, get moving, we're heading out!"

It had been long enough. More than long enough. This whole mission had been one waste of time after another thus far and she was just about sick of it. They'd find the colony, find what was screwing with their systems, and get out. She wasn't sure what exactly it was they were going to be up against, but it would be dark soon, and they had no better chance of taking it on then than they did now.
Jackdaw looked back to Ryder when he called out, but only briefly. She was fairly certain whenever he called words wouldn't be involved on his part, so the rest was easy enough to interpret.

"We're waiting now, unless you think going into that colony blind, with two wounded people is a good idea," she said.

Her tone clearly discouraged the second option, but then, she herself wasn't sure. If Taerys didn't return soon, they'd be forced to go in anyway and figure out what was keeping them grounded. Would it hurt much to speed up the process? Probably, and she'd already said she'd give the Varyx more time. So, unless there was a rallying cry to move on, they'd stay.
Still, super impressive. My knowledge of DOTA is embarrassingly low, but it has similarities to league yeah? You have a lane you primarily play?
